Couldn't really offer me suggestions. She just said, "everything is good" - I had the pork chop and my wife the steak. Both were flavorful and the portions were quite large. Good value! - Atmosphere is fun and casual. Lots of wall decorations and lights. It is a tight space and the tables are close, however still comfortable. - Low volume rock / blues music playing so it was easy to hold a conversation. They also have a stage where (I guess) live bands can play. - Restrooms are tight and are not ADA (wheelchair) compliant so I'm sorry say that this may not be a good place to go if you have such requirements. They are also a one-holer, so there will be a line. - This is a slower eating place. Not a quick 'serve ya up' place. You will need more time to eat here, but this is great if you are looking for someplace to spend with friends. - No freaking knives are on the table... Nice place / nice people / very unique old time building with decades of memories evident by the dollar bills stapled all over the walls. Wife got baked potato w BBQ beef, it was small, bland, and had none of the dressings (cheese, chives/onions, sour cream). She was hungry so she ate it. I got the chicken tender basket. I asked waitress if they were hand-battered from fresh and she said "definitely". I assure you they were frozen cheap stuff you buy at discount stores....but surprisingly, they were pretty darn good, and the potato wedges were good too. Consisting of salad mix, bacon, and a few croutons. The well grilled bourbon chicken, has a good smoke flavor, as well as a unique after taste. The biggest fault is the chicken breast was tough. The smothered roast beast sandwich was okay. The roast beef was piled high. The roast beef is probably over done, but needed the gravy. It needs more gravy than provided. Overall This is our first visit here. And so far, not too impressed. Is it just me, or shouldn't restaurants have every item available when they open, or within a short reasonable amount of time. I wanted to take my friend to eat in a place she had never tried after the hot air balloon festival and this was my choice. I have visited this restaurant twice before. Once for lunch and once for dinner. It's been over a year but I'll never wait that long again. The staff was all smiles and kindness. The atmosphere is very laid back, lots to look at, you could get lost in all the decor. Perfect for a date night or a family night. There is a small bar you may have a drink in while waiting for your table. The bartender made amazing drinks. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive even through this super busy evening. She made suggestions and we thoroughly enjoyed all of our food. We ordered stuffed shrimp as an appetizer and next time I would make it my meal since they have an entree of it as well. It was so packed and cheesy with the perfect breading. I had the drunken shrimp which is grilled shrimp in bourbon sauce with a Shazam baked potato. The Shazam potato is a loaded baked potato with their special sauce added. My friend had the garlic shrimp and that was amazing as well. The shrimp was grilled to the perfect bite and texture. In the past, I have tried their barbecue baked tator. Potatoes are baked soft and proper, you can also add a salad or gumbo on the side for an extra fee. The green salad was the usual, lettuce, shredded carrots, purple cabbage, croutons, the blue cheese dressing had big chunks of blue cheese. The shrimp was good. While on a business meeting in Poteau, we stopped in for lunch, The menu featured steaks which is very enticing, but since this was lunch and I didn't want to be too full, I decided on the smothered roast beef sandwich with potato wedges. The deli sliced roast beef was served on a hamburger - topped with brown gravy, mushrooms and provolone cheese. The deli sliced beef was a little on the tough chewy side. The potato wedges were seasoned breaded and deep fried - good. One of my friends ordered the gumbo and said it was delicious, my other friend ordered a pulled pork sandwich and said it was very good. I will be back, on my next trip to Poteau I will try something different and hopefully raise the 3 stars to 4. The restaurant is clean, services is friendly and fast. read more

The food was okay. The ribeye steak was very tender and a good cut off beef, however it didn't have a lot of flavor and the sides are extremely basic. The "salad" was iceberg lettuce with imitation bacon bits and store bought croutons. Not even cheese or any other veggies. For 26.99 I expected more. They don't offer fries. We had dinner here year ago on our annual "Fall Foliage Run". The ribeye here should be a national treasure. I've enjoyed a lot of great steaks in my lifetime, but I'm telling ya, this is one of the best. And the service here is over the top.
