Made it to Stop #14... Fort Smith, Arkansas! And whew... getting here was a little white-knuckle…read moredriving through our first real rainstorm of the entire trip But we made it safely! Of course the minute I realized the hotel didn't have a restaurant... my retirement road trip survival instincts kicked in: "Find closest pet-friendly patio immediately!" And WOW... what a find! Uncork'd Wine Bar absolutely delivered! This locally loved Fort Smith spot is known for its huge wine selection, cozy upscale vibe, incredible patio, craft cocktails, and surprisingly amazing food menu. Spot on. But honestly? The service may have stolen the show. Friendly, attentive, welcoming to the BBoyz... just one of those places that instantly makes you glad you stopped there And when they overheard me mention I forgot my jacket in the car... they immediately brought me the softest blanket to keep warm on the patio Now THAT is hospitality. After 21 days on the road and plenty of meals along the way... this was hands down the best "non-home-cooked" meal of the trip so far Rainstorm survived BBoyz approved patio Warm blanket rescue #MilesAndBBoyz #Stop14 #FortSmithArkansas #Uncorkd #RetiredAndRolling #PetFriendlyPatio #RoadTripFinds

Just googled and decided to stop in Fort Smith to eat on way home…read more We drove up and almost decided to find another place. Just looked like a simple diner. Inside is super cute! Great atmosphere with lots to look at on walls. Waitress at first was alittle reserved but warmed up. Complimentary cinnamon rolls were delicious. I had the veg plate with broc rice casserole, squash, sweet potatoes creamed. All Good! My 4th choice was cherry cobbler but didn't like due to NO crust served, all cherries. Also we had hamburgers that were very good with great onion rings. Good place, would love to try meatloaf or Roast beef. Hope we remember next time we are on hwy 40 headed to Arkansas.

Wife and I visited an old favorite of ours in Fort Smith Arkansas this evening, and the food didn't…read moredisappoint. Calico County is an iconic restaurant in the heart of the river valley and exudes country charm. They are famous for many dishes but everyone loves the sweet hot homemade cinnamon rolls they bring out to the table. PWe started with an appetizer combo of cheese sticks and tenders. For dinner, she indulged in the homemade pot roast with a side of black-eye peas and broccoli & cheese casserole with jalapeño cornbread. I had the hamburger steak with grilled onions and steamed rice with all covered in brown gravy. As I said the food was great but unfortunately the service form our server was greatly lacking. It was very disappointing to continually have to request refills, napkins, etc when he could have easily found out had ever asked us about the food or our needs, what made it worse is he had customers on either side of us but acted like we didn't exist. I'm sure someday we will be back in for a meal someday, but I can tell you it will be a looooooooong time before that happens.

Always great service and food - especially love Breakfast Taco Tuesdays…read more Very friendly folks and fast food food - the breakfast cook is awesome and so is our wait staff! Clean and always welcoming!

Imagine if you will, an island made of cornbread. And on that island of cornbread, grows a forest…read moreof lush turnip greens. Swarms of pink katydids made of ham, flutter across the lush turnip greens landscape. Surrounding the cornbread island, is a sea. In that sea, pink dolphins made of ham frolic, while schools of black-eyed peas swim in flowing unison. The devils of mayhem; diced onions and sliced jalapenos patiently wait and watch over the serene harmony, prepared to bring turmoil at the first opportunity. That was a satirical description of a meal called the "Soul Bowl." It can be found on Eunice's menu under Local Favorites. Bless her heart for coming up with this concoction! If you know what I mean. A filling bowl of food. My wife regretted it. Check the picture. Meanwhile back at the ranch....I played it safe, with an order of chicken fried chicken and mashed potatoes, all covered with cream gravy. For my side I had a lightly seasoned cucumber salad. This was a very good meal. The name Eunice's Country Cookin' describes the diner well. A menu of American diner food staples, daily specials and those delicious home-made pies. Inside, tables and uncomfortable metal chairs are scattered across the large open dining area. Seat yourself. Someone will be with you quickly. Great friendly service. Well established and loved; the restaurant and most of its customers have been around for a long time.

We visited BluPoint tonight and enjoyed the friendliness of the team and the ambiance of the…read morerestaurant was wonderful. It is well lit, relaxed and upscale - all at the same time. The furnishings, decor and spaces are well designed to be modern, contemporary and (comfortably) trendy. The food was high quality. We enjoyed Oysters Rockefeller and Pull Apart Crab Rangoon as appetizers. For our main course, we shared a cut of 16 oz Bison paired alongside a Wedge Salad with thinly sliced green apple that complimented the superb homemade blue cheese dressing. We also had Brussels sprout and asparagus. Our kids shared a fish n chips with Mac n cheese as the "chips!" We drank water with our meal. The drink menu was plentiful for those who enjoy alcohol - it was quite expansive and seemed to have something for every taste from wines and beers and cocktails/specialty drinks. We don't drink alcohol, so we cannot speak with the voice of having tried any of the adult beverages. The dessert menu looked nice, though we didn't save room at this meal to enjoy - we will save that for another time. The pricing was a bit more than one would normally spend in the River Valley - though the ambiance, food quality, menu selections and wow factor were all certainly outstanding and in a class apart from most any other restaurant in this area. By comparison - I would say BluPoint would compare to Oak or Ruth's Chris (both in Rogers, Arkansas and both specializing in steaks). Other comparables in quality and enjoyment factor would be Doe's Eat Place in Fort Smith and the location in Fayetteville (also steak houses). Finally - just a little below those mentioned above (in my view), I would say 21 West End and Stone House at Chaffee Crossing, both in Fort Smith would be comparable to BluPoint. Of course, the menu selections will vary from the places I've mentioned as comparable - BluPoint had two solid options for high quality meat (filet and bison), as well as several seafood options - which makes sense given their specialty. We met the chef and he was friendly and pleasant. His creations (that we tried) were very enjoyable. We paid $270, including a 20% tip for the selections described above - so definitely don't forget the wallet or you'll be washing a lot of dishes!
