This is a special spot. Outside of their staple proteins. The Ribs, brisket, Pulled pork, etc. this spot is so creative and always coming up with unreal specials. I tried the pit beans which came with chunks of beef brisket. Would order these every time! The rest of my group tried the fried chicken salad and raves about it. Others like the brisket and also devoured the Mac and cheese side. One even got the cobbler and raved about it. The place is in a modern open building. You order at the front and then set around the bar, with a good range of local news and a decent full bar or you choose the dining area. Your order is delivered--promptly. Plenty of parking. They have one of the BEST Tenderloin sandwiches in town! Oh, and their barbecue is pretty outstanding too!

You order your food at one area and the bar is across the room. The food was very good. I had the two meat platter and got the brisket and burnt ends. They have some very delicious sauces and I really couldn't decide which was my favorite. The Cole slaw was creamy and sweet, and the whole meal was out in short time even though the place was very full. The only downside is that you can get soft drinks where you place your food order, but you have to go to the bar if you want beer or mixed drinks. A small inconvenience for bbq that is really, really good. There is no doubt it is a highlight for the restaurants that Ottumwa has to offer. read more

Pork balls are stupid gas, 12/10. Burnt ends were phenomenal, pulled chicken was satisfying, and fries were very yum as well -- get the queso!! Reminds me of Hop Cat fries & cheese. The smoked meats are tender and delicious!! Klucknuts are crispy on the outside with creamy fillings. You have to try the chipotle corn!!

Jordan and the rest of the staff were exceptional at accommodating us needing to be gluten free! We asked about the daily special which was brisket tacos using flour tortillas so Jordan volunteered to make us cheese tortillas instead. It was DELICIOUS! Ottumwa has limited options and this is the best place in town. Great bbq and some unique appetizers. The ribs,wings and salad was great. So happy this place came to town. I give it 4 stars only because the service was lacking both times I was there. Their wings have unique names to it and I wasnt sure the flavor so i asked. The guy checking me out hadnt had all of them yet. My personal opinion is when your a new resteraunt, your staff should have had everything on the menu. Overall this place is great though. Pretty decent food and atmosphere. A fairly focused menu for the most part, with a couple interesting and unique items as well. Sign on the front door requests that you wear a mask, but of the five employees I spotted none of them were wearing a mask. For their sake, I hope they will mask up and help us get through this pandemic without the need to shut businesses like theirs down. Wasn't impressed with anything I had except the TX and Sprite. Ordered a $20 three meat platter, you pay $1 extra for 3 ribs and $1 extra for brisket. I made sure to ask for no sauce on my meat, I'm here to savor the flavor of the smoked meat and it's tenderness. I received sauce on my ribs, wiped it off with the napkins in order to proceed since there was no one around to ask for another serving of ribs. The meat on the ribs did not come of easily, the plastic fork bent backwards. Failure in my review of ribs. Not moist either. I can't tell you about the flavor because I could only taste the sauce remnants. Pulled pork was dry and no flavor except on the burnt edges. The brisket was dry, I could not discern a smoke ring. Green beans were descent out of a can and dressed up beans, too much pepper for me. The fries were on point, fresh with a fry seasoning. The toast was covered in fry seasoning and sauce, it looked beautiful/good but I cannot attest to the flavor. Service was nonexistent, I ordered at the entrance, took my number to the bar, ordered a drink, food was delivered from 2 chairs over from the left, paid for my drink. I interacted with 3 staff, 1 to take my order, 1 to deliver my order, & the bartender to take order and pay out. No one checked on me to see if I needed anything and the bartender was only behind the bar long enough to make a drink and take my money at the end. When I sent my order back with only 1/2 my fries eaten and a couple of bites off each meat, no one inquired as to if there was an issue, the bartender had an attitude to her voice when she asked, "you don't need a box?" read more

Warehouse BBQ is some of the best in the state. Their menu is extremely simple but everything is incredible. You can tell the owner takes great pride in their business as the service is phenomenal, everyone is extremely friendly and the food is excellent. They recently won an award from the Iowa Pork Association as the Best BBQ in Iowa and one trip here will allow you to determine why. We absolutely love the atmosphere. This place is worth the drive. Cute place! Owners obviously have a great sense of humor. The meat was 5 star. Moist and delicious. Sauces were good but a little too peppery. We would recommend having a BBQ sauce option that was more honey barbecue based for those of us who don't like hot BBQ sauce. Also we would recommend offering a kids drink with the kids meal such as milk or juice. other than that I would give this a four-and-a-half star review because the quality of the food was excellent. The Warehouse really isn't a pleasant place to eat at. Bubba Q's in Ottumwa is way better. Bubba Q's brings the food to your table for you instead of this place that keeps yelling over the speaker system a number as they do at places like McDonald's. We won't be back. After you eat, they expect a tip and then expect you to empty your tray of food when you leave. If we are picking up our food we order at the counter and take it back to our table and then have to clean the table, why would they expect anyone to leave a tip. Our 1st time there the food was cold and the noise was just annoying. This is our 2nd and last time there. Food still not hot, and for a piece of cornbread, 1 corn with sauce and baked beans and 6 small ribs, 1 french fry order, one small lemonade and One beer came to 30 bucks. What a rip off.
