No butter, sticky syrup container, and not much flavor to the syrup I ordered 2 eggs scrambled and a sausage patty. The scrambled eggs were not fluffy and sort of cooked like an extra thick omelette. I ordered a bacon pizza, half with pineapple to go. The quality was just very subpar. The bacon was funky tasting. The cheese tasted kind of gross. The crust was bland and not good. Also it was cut in tiny squares and by the time I got home the pieces just didn't come apart and was a mess to eat. Not worth the price. I would choose Mia pizza over them.

It was fascinating to listen to the locals use shorthand terms to place their sandwich orders with unique specifications. A PERFECT SPOT -- ESPECIALLY FOR PARENTS TRAVELING WITH LITTLE ONES!…read more We were staying at the hotel and ended up coming to Wissota Chophouse almost every single day because it was that good. I was traveling with my two-year-old, and the entire staff could not have been kinder or more accommodating. They immediately brought her crayons and a coloring page every visit, and made us feel so welcome -- which any parent knows is priceless when you're on the road. Their daily happy hour from 4-6 is truly unmatched: half-off wine and drafts (yes please!), and the vibes are relaxed and friendly. My daughter and I were both completely obsessed with the truffle fries and the bread and butter -- honestly some of the best we've had anywhere. Obviously they're known for their amazing steak but everything we tried was delicious, fresh, and felt like such a treat without being stuffy. A special shoutout to the manager, who is incredibly sweet and made sure every visit felt personal. Between the food, the service, and how family-friendly it is, this spot became the highlight of our stay. If you're in Ottumwa- especially if you're staying at the hotel- you have to go. And definitely go during happy hour. You'll want to come back every day too!
