I kind of felt a little bad for interrupting him as I was just browsing. Lol From the Western Clive West Des Moines area it was about a 35 min drive out to North Ankeny but I wanted to check out the shelves here. Love the high wooden displays that give parts of the shop an almost library like look... A lot of the bourbon and whiskey is standard to what you can find at other area shops. Pricing is on par or just a couple of dollars higher. I can see the convenience of this shop to the residents of Northern Ankeny. It's really the only liquor store in the area. There is Costco, but the 10-15 min drive back to Neighborhood or longer to Liquor Lovers would be a pain if you just need to run in and grab something. Nothing screamed "Buy me!" so I walked out empty handed. With it being the haul that it is for me from my home base in the metro (and the speed trap they were running between 1st and 36th on I35) I doubt that I make a special trip back to Sip N Burn, but I won't hesitate to swing in again if I am in the area.

She was excited to get off and go celebrate....it seemed quite early on in our visit that she'd already started celebrating, lots of shots, plenty of time not even in the bar, actually admitted and apologized that she went to the "thrift store". We spent approx 4-5 hours there, same patrons would come and go between the bar and the sidewalk. A little sketchy, even for a dive bar.

Great coffee for those needing a Latte fix in Ottumwa…read more I had a coffee from The Vine recently while in Ottumwa for work. I have to admit to being a Starbucks junkie normally. I like knowing not only that I will get the same drink every time I order, no matter where I go in the country, but also that I have a place to go to get away from it all and come out smelling divinely like coffee. The Vine prepared a Pumpkin Spice Latte that rivals those I've gotten from the 'bucks. I found myself falling into the cozy warmth of fall with my first sip, kind of like that sensation of flopping back into a leaf pile when I was a kid and fall was at its peak. Find your cozy at The Vine the next time you're in Ottumwa!
