Oh no! What happened?! We love your basement pub called the PO Box, but the restaurant upstairs…read morereally blew it! I'm changing to a three star review because these two restaurants are really on both ends of the spectrum. PO Box - 5 stars American Table - 1 star This updated review will be about the "American Table" The Good- Beautiful ambiance. Nice young man doing his best as our server. The food was tasty once we got it. The Bad- It took forever and a day to get our food. Some of our food was piping hot and some was cool at best. They forgot all kinds of extras we had ordered like soup. The staff was just strange and clueless most of the time. The Ugly- two tables around us up and left and never even received their food. The staff was bickering around the customers trying to make order out of the chaos. We had multiple meals brought to our table that we never ordered. It's almost as if they don't have a numbering system for the tables or the expo person gave no instructions. We will come back to the PO Box, but never again to the American Table.

I had the bone-in pork loin and it was extremely dry, like make you want to dunk it in your water glass dry. The side of veggies was clearly frozen vegetables warmed up in the microwave. I had the soup, which the waitress described as "some sort of pork soup". I asked for clarification she said there was some other name for that she couldn't recall, but the chef said basically, its pork soup. The broth in the soup was quite good, but other than a couple chunks of celery, it was a lot of pork, seemed like maybe left over pulled pork. But it was my favorite part of my meal. They are clearly going for fine dining with the prices and the look, and they're almost there, but missing the customer experience touches, details, and execution to pull it off. I'm pulling for them to be successful, so I'm hoping they learn and make the necessary changes to make it work. P.S. I was there for a business catered function, they served 3 kinds of traditional pasta, salad, and dessert and that was fantastic. P.P.S. The downstairs casual restaurant is fantastic

The only reason I had to take a star is that we cannot recommend dining in and want to give that heads up to fellow travelers. We were stopping through town on our way to see family and thought it would be easier to dine in with our toddler than taking it back to our air b n b. It was small but there were a handful of tables set up for dining in so we thought it would work ok. But when we came in and asked about dining in we were given a bugged-eyed look and they echoed, "dine in?!" But they said sure and pick a seat. It takes a bit to make me uncomfortable and doubt a person but this was not welcoming. We sat down and when our 2 year old wanted our menu, we asked for a second one and got an attitude from the same person again. At that point I threw in the towel. I can't enjoy my meal with someone questioning every single thing we did or said, especially with an unpredictable toddler. So we put in our order and left. My husband had to go back to get it. So just a fair warning to other families to be prepared for a possibly awkward dine-in experience. They also do not have high chairs - they do have booster seats but they do not buckle down. We for sure would order here again but would plan to carry-out only.

I'll keep it humorous and archaic, without being mean-spirited about schizophrenia itself: --- Lo, Hearken to Mine Woeful Tale Verily, I did enter yon House of McDonald's with belly afire and thirst unquenched, hoping for meats betwixt bread and a chalice of sweet syrup'd cola. Yet mine sojourn was undone by a flame-haired damsel, clad in bandana most villainous, who didst comport herself as a knave most foul. She spake with tongue sharp as serpent's fang, casting scorn upon mine humble request for nuggets numbered ten. "Thou shalt wait, peasant," quoth she, though nary another soul did stand before me in line. Such discourtesy! The fries were limp, the sauce but a paltry smear, and the air reek'd of despair. When I did beseech for napkins, the red-crown'd harpy did glare as if I had ask'd for her kingdom entire. Forsooth, never hath mine heart felt so slighted in a hall of burgers. I give but one star, and that star falleth swiftly into shadow. Thus endeth mine review. Also she doesn't know what a comma is... GO BACK TO REHAB, BUD
