That is kinda a good thing at least folks are out for a good meal All of the good stuff on the salad bar Wednesday is wing day I forgot to get any Couple of soups out and more on request They did make a personal standard crust crab ragoon small pizza for us.. Lol not the same crunch as the full size thin but I ate it anyway! Lol $15 total all you can eat out the door with tip. Yea I will try to update more on this place soon. read more

The parking lot was packed, so I had to stop in. The atmosphere was relaxed. The salad bar looked like a good deal, but I chose a patty melt and chili. Both were very good. As others have mentioned, there is a sign posted that explains orders could take 75 (?) minutes to get your order if they are busy. The server kept me posted on the wait time, which turned out to be reasonable. read more

Wings were just ok, but closes too early on game night. A sports bar should stay open at least until 11pm

Three of us went in for Tuesday Tacos. They were excellent. Our server was excellent as well. I cant wait to go back for the buffet on wednesday with boneless wings. read more

This place has really gone downhill. For starters it takes 90 minutes to get your food. After waiting for an hour, we politely asked the waitress how much longer it would be on our food and were rudely told, that when they're busy, it takes 90 minutes. Mind you there were only 5 tables with people at them when we arrived and we didn't see any to go orders leave. Over an hour for food is ridiculous, anywhere, regardless of how busy they are. This is the 3rd time we've waited over an hour, which is why we hadn't been there for a few weeks. The salad bar is not kept up with so don't plan on eating it as a meal. We were told there was soup, and in the 2 hours we were there, they never did bring any soup out. They had very little lettuce, and when they "refilled the bowl", they added about 2 cups of lettuce and called it good. The food is hit and miss, sometimes it's great sometimes its just ok. It use to be consistently good, now it's often overcooked, under seasoned, or tastes reheated. Fries are soggy. Sauce on the chicken has been cut back so much, you barely get any. Sad to say, as we use to go at least once a week, but it will be a very long time before we ever go back, if we ever go back. read more

Always have great food. Service isn't always perfect but never bad enough to not come back. Be sure to order the chips and salsa with your meal! Steaks are good, ribs are good, burgers are good, wings are good, but my favorite is the Buffalo Wing Sandwich - a grilled or breaded chicken breast on a bun, topped with your choice of any of their wing sauces. Add a side of their homemade onion rings and it's a fantastic meal! read more

They have pretty good wings, that's about it. They had Weds wing specials from what I remember. The sauces were good and wings were decent size, not too small compared to some places Well if your in the area and want pretty good wings this place is worth a try. They do have several flavors for you to try. Has several TV's to watch games on. Nothing too fancy here just your basic bar and grill in southern Iowa. read more

Best food in Ottumwa! Super friendly staff. Location is just a bit outside of town but well worth the drive.

Wing flavors and portions are great. Service has been poor and is continually getting worse. We have to wait to order, flag people down to get drink refills, and wait a long time to pay. We used to go here once a week, now have to convince ourselves to go once a month. read more

Ok so I love benchwarmers food but the service was horrible!!! We waited 30 minutes just for drinks! Then 1 hour and 40 mins for food!!! 1 of the guys we were with did the wing challenge and got cheated out of it because our waitress failed to explain it all to us and her response was well sorry I was busy!!! Then we asked for a manager a lady that had an outrageous attitude didn't apologize once!! Then acted as if we were a burden because they were busy! She then asked me with an attitude what was she supposed to do about it!!! I told her she's the manager make it right. She took 10 percent off the bills which didn't make it right especially since it took another 30 minutes to get the bill. Please benchwarmers make this right as we love your restaurant! read more

Benchwarmers is a quaint sports bar & grill located a bit off the beaten path. The atmosphere is relaxed and there are several TVs throughout the restaurant for watching the big game. They do not have a large selection of draft beer beer but do offer a full bar. The food menu has lots of the usual bar and grill offerings but also features several unique and adventurous options as well. However, with all of the good food offerings I rarely get a chance to explore the other options on the menu because I always order the same thing. It is what they are known for... hot wings. They are the best wings around. Cooked to pefection and offered up with a variety of different sauces from mild to "Wall of Pain" (my favorite). I would also recommend the chips and salsa while you wait for your food. It is a very unique sweet salsa that is famous in the Ottumwa area. You can purchase a jar of thier salsa at the restaurant or even at local grocery stores as well as some of their more popular wing sauces. read more

Took the family there for the wings. They were good and the price was fair. $19.95 for 24 wings. The breaded honey BBQ was the best of what we had. The place could use a good scrubbing and my wife got a one trip salad bar that didn't have much on it. $5.95 just for that. Drinks were $2.25 which is pretty steep in my opinion. Still trying to figure out why at 3:30 on a Sunday afternoon it took 1 hour and 10 minutes from the time we ordered to get 24 wings and a cheeseburger?? I give the service barely a 1. Overall we weren't impressed. Also smelled smoke several times. I realize it's a bar, but the law is the law people. It was obvious they weren't enforcing it. read more
