She refuses to help clients and abruptly hangs up phones without making sure a customer is OK with any unresolved issues or concerns they may have. I originally stopped in because the tiny screws had fallen out of a pair of my sunglasses (that I didn't even buy there), and Ahmed kindly offered to fix them for me. He had to specially order the screws from abroad and even reinforced both sides so I wouldn't keep having the same issue. He refused to charge me for it, which was such an unexpectedly kind gesture. While I was there, I bought a pair of sunglasses and later realized I preferred another pair I had tried on instead. Even though it was entirely my indecision, Ahmed happily exchanged them for me without hesitation (I hadn't worn them). He was honest, helpful, and genuinely fun throughout the whole process -- the kind of person you instantly want to be friends with. It's story time: Unbeknownst to me my glasses fell off the nightstand at the hotel during the night. This morning when I got out of bed I heard a CRUUUNCH and realized that I stepped on my glasses and they are bent and broken. You can imagine my panic. The first place I ran to, that was recommended by the hotel front desk, was closed, (this is the third recommendation by the same front desk person that utterly SUCKED, but I digress), and I realized the lens is now missing! So I ran back to the hotel, found the lens (yes!) and looked for another spot. I found one on yelp (5 stars), close to the hotel, and ran there. In the meantime I called the other person working with me, to give her a heads up that I may miss the first meeting today trying to fix the problem. The lab was in this run down building, non-descript entrance, down the hall on a confusing second floor. I entered, still panicked, and showed them what happened. "Let me see what I can do" was the response (with a big disarming smile behind the mask). And with that I handed over my bent frames, lens and all. Long story short; we struck a conversation (he wants to retire in San Diego) and about 15 minutes later the frames were fixed "not perfect but that's the best I can do!" was what Yong, the optometrist said. I couldn't thank him enough! I really couldn't thank them enough for saving the day. I'm thinking of going back to buy a spare set of glasses to give them some of my business. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND DECEIVING. AVOID AT ALL COST…read more I had an appointment with the Dr. a few days ago. As I explained to the doctor during our appointment, this was my first time visiting an eye doctor. When I entered eye-q-optical, one of your employees gave me some forms to fill out, including the optomap retinal exam. I had come in to get a prescription for eye glasses. This being my first time, I assumed this was a routine form one signs when going to the doctor's office for the first time. Coming into the office, I had never even heard of an Optomap or a retinal scan. As I was leaving, I was charted $39 and couldn't understand why (apparently it was for the optomap add-on, which I had never verbally agreed to). Given that it was my first time, I think it only would've been fair for your employee to explain that this is something separate from the eye exam, and that while helpful, is not something that is required to get a glasses prescription. Instead, I was simply given a document to sign. At the best, this is lazy and at the worst, this feels deceitful. I emailed the practice several times and was promised a call back from the doctor, but almost a week later, I haven't heard from them. If this is your version of customer service, good luck competing with other providers. Next time, explain to your patients what the optomap is, before putting a document in front of their face for them to sign.
