I was hesitant because usually I just end up arguing with my teammates. On this occasion I was with all my family members so we probably argued less than I expected. Excited to see what is in store for this business as they will be adding some new rooms soon. Check them out. We were entertained and the experience was fantastic.

The staff were super friendly and fun, the room was great for accessibility while still being atmospheric for the game, the puzzles were challenging in a really fun way. In Toom of Doom, you are trying to escape a cursed room, using clues left by an explorer who perished before you. We had two younger children, so our family required a couple clues to finish, but the background and room setup were esceptional, the staff was very helpful, even offering assistance while we were struggling in the room, and we were able to finish our room with 7:56 left. The kids and the parents both had a great time and would gladly return to House of Conundrum again in the future!

I have visited a LOT of Escape Rooms around the country so maybe I'm a bit biased. We did the…read moreBatman room and we found it lacking. The room is the classic style room with cheesy decorations, old school locks and keys and codes. There wasn't much, if any, automation in the room. One high point was the person working- who did a great job of setting the scene and serving a bit of immersion. It was obvious that whoever built this room had the Batman mannequin and built the rest around it. We divided and conquered the puzzles pretty quickly because we thought we were rushing to another room, but upon opening it, that was the end of the experience. I understand that some of their challenges do involve multiple rooms but this is the only one we got to do during our visit to Omaha.

We did Blackbeard's Treasure, and the three of us, my best friend, her husband, and myself were pirates who decided to raid Blackbeard's treasure while he was off doing whatever pirates do. The thing is...we only had an hour before the captain himself came back. This was a challenging room with tons of puzzles to solve. The clues were just challenging enough that we needed to use a few hints, but they weren't so hard that we felt defeated. When we needed clues, the game master was helpful, kind, and had such an awesome sense of humor. He was easy to talk to and approachable. He even showed us his other rooms! And we can't wait to come back and try out Moriarty's next time. If you're looking for a fun escape room that's challenging and run by a really friendly game master, you won't be disappointed!

Decided to give this place a try to see what the arcade room is all about…read more The place was clean and spacious, and my kid did have fun, but compared to Dave and Buster's, this place is just not worth it. You can find most of these games at Dave and Busters. The way their point system for games is set up is weird. Let's say a game is 1.5 points--that means they are taking $1.50 from your game card. Many games were 1.5 points, but there were quite a few that went up to 4. So paying $4 to play one game is outrageous and a rip-off, to say the least. At Dave and Buster's, they have a much better system, and your dollar goes a long way compared to this place. Also, some of the claw machines weren't working properly. People would win a toy, but the door wouldn't open to retrieve it. The staff was walking around, and I let them know. They said they were going to get someone, and we waited for maybe 10 minutes, but nobody showed up. I then decided to go find someone working at the shop, and she helped right away. Maybe we will come back and try the bowling and food, but when it comes to the arcade unfortunately we won't be back for that.

Actually, I think keeping the "cafe" setting in tact was sort of genius. We solved the puzzle thirty minutes into our hour long appointment, but I think part of it was we used our hints too early on. The game can fit a lot of people in the space, which is great! I love that there's an option for larger-group escape rooms. However, I don't think the puzzle is difficult enough to keep more than a handful of people busy at a time. That being said, a lot of the elements and puzzles were really clever and everyone still really enjoyed their time completing it. The employee working was also very friendly and helpful!

However, compared to other escape rooms we've done this one fell a little flat. It was just one room with no effects and the storyline didn't make much sense. That said, it was still a nice family outing and it might have just been the room we chose. I did think it was cool that you get to write your name on the wall when you're done!

You get locked in a room for an hour and work together to solve a variety of puzzles within an hour in order to escape. I don't want to say too much about the puzzles, cause you'll want to experience them for yourself, but there were locks and keys and codes and all sorts of clever devices. There is also a television mounted on the wall that shows how much time you have left, and allows the folks running the show to provide the occasional hint if everyone is totally stumped (a facilitator watches you from behind a one-way window). Having never done an escape room before, this kind of surprised me, but after being in there for 20 minutes it totally made sense to me. It also added some levity. Escape rooms are new to Lincoln, and at the time of this review The Escape Room is less than a month old. There were a few minor kinks in the room, but we had so much fun that it didn't adversely affect our experience. Also, the folks at The Escape Room offered us a free escape experience at a later date, which we gladly accepted. Looking forward to coming back!
