From the time you first walk in you're greeted by his excellent staff who have always gone out of their way to not only help me but everyone else who comes in. Then I have allays had excellent service from the staff that assist with the treatment and I must apologize for not having their names because they deserve all the praise as well. To help illustrate just how impressive Dr. Sonaco is, he and the Oral Surgeon Dr. Loschiavo realized that I was in need of various help and instead of just keeping me in a state of trying to figure out how to manage such a huge undertaking on my own like is seen far too often in today's worl. DDS Sonaco from Aeris Dental came up with a plan that even took his personal time then got together with Dr. Loschiavo; my Oral Surgeon, and came up with a plan and then they both had myself and my wife actually come in and laid out their plan which was huge in helping us to better understand the situation and to navigate a path forward. I've been on this planet for a long time and I have never ever seen anything like what they did for us. Seriously, who in today's world takes the time out of their own schedules to help someone the way DDS Sonaco and Dr. Loschiavo did for me. up until now I have never even heard of that before. That's a level of professionalism and truly caring for their patients ever seen before. Many businesses talk about it but these two great people and their staffs proved it. To say they deserve a 5 Star Rating doesn't express how deep my gratitude is for the both of them and their office staff. At my first appointment, I waited over two hours before being seen. During that visit, I was told my out-of-pocket cost for the crown would be $900 with insurance. To make sure there were no surprises, I even called the Friday before my appointment to confirm the price, and they again confirmed it would be $900. When I arrived for the procedure, I was suddenly told my bill would be $1,750 -- an $850 difference from what I had been told multiple times. When I questioned it, the billing person was rude, dismissive, and unable to give a clear explanation for the change. I verified the cost twice beforehand, so being told a completely different amount when I arrived felt dishonest and misleading. It honestly felt like they lied about the billing just to get me in the door. By that point they already had the broken crown I brought with me, so walking out would have been difficult. Looking back, I wish I had gone somewhere else. I would consider you to look elsewhere for your dental needs. Be extremely careful with billing if you have insurance know you will still pay a hefty BILL for a grown. Based on my experience, the price you are told ahead of time may not be the price they try to charge you when you arrive. If you look up the cost of a crown everywhere on line tells you it's anywhere between 700- up to 3,000 without insurance, if you have insurance even though your insurance will cover that cost at 50% you still will pay outrageous money and as if you didn't have insurance. I am still shocked!! this is insane please do not go to this dental office. There is plenty of them in Tucson.

This review is for Dr. Andrew Petersen who is the oral surgeon who contracts at this office. The…read morerest of the staff and office is terrific. Dr. Andrew Petersen performed my wisdom teeth removal last week. Within a couple of days of the surgery, I discovered that Dr. Petersen neglected to remove one of the wisdom teeth. I called Dr. Petersen and he said he "doubts that" he would have missed one of the four teeth but that he has made that mistake "once or twice in the past." A review I found of Dr. Petersen on a different website paints a similar story. I went in to the officer after the call with Dr. Petersen and they took X-rays to check on my concern and they discovered that I was correct that Dr. Petersen neglected to remove the wisdom tooth. Dr. Dahl apologized repeatedly for Dr. Petersen's error and then Dr. Dahl pulled the fourth tooth for me free of charge and refunded me for the cost that Dr. Petersen charged me in advance of his original surgery. I want to thank Dr. Dahl for that. As you can imagine , my recovery pain increased significantly following the second surgery. However, I have to recommend that Dr. Petersen no longer be allowed to practice at Cortaro Smiles moving forward. Everyone makes mistakes but not being able to count to four is unacceptable and should not be tolerated by a professional medical or dental practice. I have already contacted the Arizona Dental Board to report Dr. Petersen for his neglect and I will be demanding restitution for the unnecessary pain caused by the second surgery that was required. Again, I want to thank the rest of the staff at Cortaro Smiles. Needless to say, I will be finding a new office to go to moving forward as I cannot trust the work they do here since as far as I know there are not other surgeons here. If you are reading this, do not allow Dr. Petersen to perform surgery on you.
