There are free weights and equipment ALL OVER the floor! Nothing seems like it's placed in its rightful spot. I quickly learned that members here don't rerack weights or put equipment back after they are finished using. The place is already fairly small so the fact that there is equipment scattered all over the floor makes getting a good workout almost impossible. Speaking of equipment, it's very limited. I can only speak for the women's locker room but it wasn't clean. Also you can only sign up for a year contract which gives scam to me so I'd just avoid this place altogether if I was you. You can find someplace better.

I am beyond disappointed and honestly hurt by how my family was treated tonight…read more My wife and I have been loyal LA Fitness members for OVER 10 YEARS. We have paid faithfully month after month for a decade. We recently even added a brand-new membership for our 13-year-old son because we believed in this gym and planned to continue here as a family. Tonight was supposed to be a meaningful family moment. My older son, who is ACTIVE DUTY U.S. ARMY, is visiting and wanted to work out with us. These moments are rare when your child serves our country. We were excited to train together as a family. All I asked for was a simple one-day courtesy pass. Not a free month. Not special treatment. Just one workout. The front desk didn't even try to help. They did not offer to check with a manager. They did not try to find a solution. They did not show any empathy. They simply said, "That will be $20," and that was it. After 10+ years of loyalty, a brand-new youth membership, and an active-duty soldier standing in front of them, they showed zero flexibility and zero humanity. This wasn't about money. It was about respect. The lack of appreciation for long-term members and military families is shocking. My children watched this happen -- including my son who serves this country -- and it was embarrassing and heartbreaking. A company this large should understand loyalty, family, and service. Unfortunately, LA Fitness Kearny showed none of those values tonight. We left feeling disrespected and seriously reconsidering continuing our memberships. Very disappointing.

Planet Fitness commits FRAUD…read more... I live in California & have a membership with planet fitness. While checking my bank statement, planet fitness charged my account twice in April & May for a different amount. I called the California facility in regard to this matter & found out that a planet fitness in New Jersey use my account for someone I don't even know. I called the New Jersey planet fitness & 1st I was told no manager was on the premises, then I would receive a call back from the regional manager. It has been 7 days with no call back or results for this matter. I also made another call to the facility yesterday & the same female told me that " no manager was on site" again. Then all of a sudden another woman gets on the phone & stated she was the manager but could not assist me. She would not provide me the regional manager email or phone number. Then she hung up in my face. I feel like it's a inside job & they know it. Why keep brushing me off? Someone needs to refund me my money no matter what. DO NOT trust these people with your information.

Was a member here for a little over a year, and it's not the best gym - especially for a franchise…read more I've never seen a gym with weights that are so disorganized and out of place. They are never put back into the rack, and the dumbbells are even worse. You'll spend 5-10 minutes just searching for the right size and then you'll only find one dumbbell. The gym has dust all over around the machines as if they clean the floor but just stop near anything. Permenant sweat stains on everything and it's inconvenient to wipe things down, and the staff never cleans or puts the weights back. Machines will stay broken for months at a time (the Life fitness row machine and a leg curl machine). Not to mention the filter for the water fountain stays red for a month as well. It also seems that certain memberships have unlimited guest passes, but I was never told that when signing up and my boyfriend already had a membership. There's also the fact that if your friends with someone who works at the front, they probably just let you walk right by without scanning. Meanwhile it's a huge burden on the staff just to scan you in. Why can't the scanner just sit on the desk? I've been a member of small gyms with outdated equipment, but they weren't chains or anything. Expectations are lower. Wouldn't expect this poor of quality from an LA Fitness.

By the time I finished my first WOD, all of my fears and preconceived notions surrounding CrossFit culture were disarmed and I immediately felt part of a new community. Now, after a short time at Arrival I am beginning to feel powerful, strong and excited to work out again. Huge thanks to the flight crew at Arrival who met me where I was, and are continuing to lead me to where I want to be.

It was very easy to reserve my spot to store luggage at this facility. I was coming from Newark airport and I needed to drop off my luggage for a few hours so that I could participate in an event and not have to lug it around the city. It's very easy to check in with the information that was sent to me an email before I had arrived. They made sure that my bag was secure and labeled. At no point did I feel like there was going to be any issues with my bag based off of the room that houses the luggage and the procedure of handing my baggage over to them. I stored my luggage here for about six or seven hours, and there was no issues with retrieving my luggage when I came back. It was the same procedure as check-in almost. It really was a lifesaver for me because I did not want to carry my baggage for seven hours on my back and it was very reasonably priced. Accessing the facility is reasonably close to Newark Penn Station and it's just a short walk. Thanks a lot.
