This business does luggage storage services. So my review is regarding the luggage storage service only. I don't utilize this facility to do exercising or working out. It was very easy to reserve my spot to store luggage at this facility. I was coming from Newark airport and I needed to drop off my luggage for a few hours so that I could participate in an event and not have to lug it around the city. It's very easy to check in with the information that was sent to me an email before I had arrived. They made sure that my bag was secure and labeled. At no point did I feel like there was going to be any issues with my bag based off of the room that houses the luggage and the procedure of handing my baggage over to them. I stored my luggage here for about six or seven hours, and there was no issues with retrieving my luggage when I came back. It was the same procedure as check-in almost. It really was a lifesaver for me because I did not want to carry my baggage for seven hours on my back and it was very reasonably priced. It's like $40 a month and has more than 2 flat benches plus a sauna. I don't know what else you ppl want. Yeah, it's kind of loud. It's annoying for a day, then you get used to it and never notice it again. Turn your noise cancellation on like a big boy. There's always parking. You never wait too long for a machine or a bench. No one is talking shit about you in another language. There are weights to lift and cardio machines. Just exercise and leave. Hit up a massage parlor if you need your ass kissed. read more

I was a member and paid for a full 6 month membership for this gym. I just called to get my membership renewed and see if I can get a 3 month instead of the 6 months I paid because I barely used my membership. Well, I was told that prices are only given in person. Now, I would understand if I am a new member to the gym because as a company you'd like to have people coming in person to entice them. but I wanted to be a recurring member and as a working women I barely want to go to the gym AT ALL. Now, you want me to go in so you can give me a price? Also, can I point out...because you don't have a page linked with established prices, how do I not know your charging me more than other people? The music for the classes is extremely loud. Especially in the morning! They do not consider the people working out in the remaining of the area. Today, I asked the lady at the front if they can ask the Zumba teacher to turn it down and she said it's just for an hour! Shame on them. read more

This gym is currently making members pay a new month to month fee outside of their current contract(shady).The customer service of their office is terrible. Meanwhile other gyms are allowing their members to use the gym without an additional fee such as Retro Fitness. This type of treatment is unacceptable for loyal members and I will not be renewing. I woke up at 4:30am in order to use the gym at less than 25% capacity. When I asked if I could cancel my membership since I won't even get use during these limited capacity restrictions, they also said no and then said even then I'd be charged cancellation if it was possible. Please be warned of this gym's outrageous policy and know there are other gyms you can goto who will be more fair. This is a extremely spacious gym located in the heart of the Ironbound in Newark. Probably one of the most central ones if location Is important to you. They have a separate parking lot as well which makes it convenient to commute to. As for the gym faciitlies, all of the machines are fairly new and I never have to wait long to use them if they are occupied. The staff does a great job in keeping the place clean. The ceilings are high which helps to circulate air throughout the place. They offer all sorts of fitness classes which come included with the monthly price. It can be crowded at times, as with any gym during peak hours but I tend to come in the morning when it is fairly empty. The cardio machines are all upstairs, and in the morning time there is always enough so you won't have to wait to use them. There is also a bar downstairs with drinks and shakes. I havent had them yet, but have seem people purchase it. They also offer personal training. read more

The gym is pretty unprofessional across the board beginning with management not calling back when messages left at the front desk (bigger issue might be that there's never a manager on staff) and the parking situation is outrageous. The parking lot is shared with other businesses and only a small section is allotted for the gym. When there is no parking in the allotted gym section, you're expected to wait for a spot to open. For the price of a membership to attend this gym, parking should be guaranteed. Every time they have a class the music is played at a volume to where I can't hear my music with my noise cancellation studio beats despite being on a different floor than where the class is taking place; it's obnoxious. Definitely one of the worst gyms in the area. They have extra fees they don't tell you about, they close way before closing time. Normally at 10:30 instead of 11pm & the management is awful. I was very ready to join one night I came in to check out the gym. I spoke with one of the membership representatives (an older male with an accent) and apparently he was on some type of break. Because the gym does not post membership prices online, I had to come in to discuss them with someone in person. Because of this I told the membership representative I needed at least a night to sleep on it before I make an impulse decision. After I told him this he seemingly became annoyed and told me "I stop eating for this". I immediately became disgusted with that response and told him "enjoy your dinner" and I walked out. I will start off by saying that I am moving to New Jersey and currently calling to inquire about gym prices to an area I will be renting until my apartment is finished . I called and spoke to a man named HELDER RODRIGUEZ who not only was beyond unhelpful but surprisingly rude . He said he cannot give gym prices over he phone when I was looking to sign up over the phone so I could go in the gym and not be haggled which I hate . Terrible place , machines are way too close together. Powerlifters beware, not allowed to use chalk or deadlift without matts. Also saw an associate/owner inappropriately touch one of my friends on her thigh while working out. Cops were called but nothing was done. They try to lock you in with 2 year memberships and make it impossible to cancel. Ultimately, the parking lot attendants don't allow you to park your car there for more than 2 hours. When you stick around longer than allowed, they harass you on your way out. Not a good place to work out long term. read more

So my friend and I registered in the office and this took longer than I expected. I showed my ID and was told how to access the Facilities whenever I showed up etc. We were in town for just a few days. Next day I showed up and my info was no where to be seen in the system..... neither via my phone number nor ID/name etc. The woman (barely speaking English) casually told me: "I don't see anything here; just go back to the office" Office with a line of other people waiting outside the office and others inside. Reading the comments below, it's clear that this gym isn't exactly being rated for what it is, a gym. The equipment and machines here have a wide variety of choices, cardio machines are substantially better than other gyms, classes are offered here in a big space with weights and mats if you want to work out in a more personal area, and the hours work for most individuals. Last time I checked, people join a gym to work out. They also offer certain pricing for different types of employees, I walked in and all my questions were answered immediately. I am extremely upset and stuck with a contract I don't use. Owners are rude and don't care about members. I give the location 5 stars, this gym is located in the heart of the ironbound but you should stay away!! I am not a member but I visted and just by entering I felt out of place. The staredowns were like who is this black man and why is she here. As I asked questions, it was if they DIDNT want me to join. They had side coversations in Spanish when I asked questions, so rude. I will give my money to Metro, Blink or Planet but this place is not for the non-hispanic population. I would like to touch on this gym again. I've seen that a few "trolls" have given this gym bad reviews for things like loud music, and pricing over the phone. If you truly don't like loud music, or you have sensitive ears, this may not be the place for you. This is a North Jersey gym that plays music so you can stay up beat and workout and lift weights like you are supposed to at a gym. Secondly, most businesses don't discuss any financial matters over the phone. I was not haggled with at all, neither was my girl friend or her friend when they all signed up on their own. Their memberships have set prices and clear instructions. They offer a shake bar and a supplement shop and have great equipment and a PT office, oh and cardio machines and a studio room for classes. I think it's unfair that people have the audacity to hinder a businesses reputation because they didn't "get there way" when they tried calling instead of getting up and going to do it themselves. I used to be a big fan of Evolution but in the last 6 months I've lost some of my love for the gym. I like to go to the gym early in the morning before work. The timing is great and most machines are available for use. The studio is open before classes start at 6:30 or 7:30, which is wonderful. My main complaint is the lack of care in the locker rooms. The showers in the women's locker room are falling apart, smell of mildew, and sometimes there is hair caught on the tiles. I've seen water bugs crawling around on the floor. Going to the gym that early in the morning, I would expect the showers ad locker rooms to be extra clean and smell of disinfectant even from the night before. However, they are not. Overall the gym is still great, but I would expect the showers to be better taken care of. Not sure if this is something that would make me cancel my membership but if the condition worsens, I just might. read more

PLEASE TURN THE MUSIC DOWN!! Oh I am using all caps so you might hear me over the very loud music in the gym. It is way too loud that no one could hear their own music on the headphones. Not a bad gym. I was member for nearly 9 months and enjoyed it at first. After the first month, however, I noticed that a number of machines were broken and taking too long to be repaired. Additionally, because the gym is smaller, it didn't offer the variety of machines I wanted. The classes offered aren't bad though. read more

Music is too loud, machines are always taken up, and they sign you up for automatic renewal without making you aware of it.

The sound levels here average between 90-100 decibels. Not exactly what I'm after when I have been at work all day. They need to shut the aerobics door. Stupid instructors crank the music to ridiculous levels n leave doors open. Hearing damage starts after 30 mins at these levels. Would b a good gym if they fixed this. read more

I like the gym but whenever we start taking classes in the classroom upstairs the whole space literally smells super bad and the floor is dirty with lots of hair on it!! It would be helpful cleaning the classroom more often with desinfectants and have guests work out in the best environment since the membership is $50 .. read more
