Then the store clerk helps me pick lenses for the frame that I narrow down my selection to and I get the same old glasses I always get. Well not this time! I went into Village Eye Works and was very pleasantly greeted and then actually helped by the father who was very happy to help me look for glasses that fit my face and looked great on me! We were then joined by his daughter who helped us and it turned into a personal shopper experience where they helped me find the perfect glasses for me. The important factor pushing that decision was they accepted the Eye Med insurance. With glasses being as expensive as they are, it is a good saving of over $100! You could use the original frames but it is not suggested. After some years of wear, the frames are not reliable, We went through the process of choosing a new frame. It took maybe a half dozen tries before choosing. The staff member was helpful and pleasant. We chose a sun glass color lens and for this pair, we did use the former frame. The sunglasses frame is in good shape and wasn't worn half as much as the regular glasses. The work is paid for and now all it is up to the lab to prepare them. The process was easy and streamlined. In fact I did not see any generic eyewear so it was unclear if they carried this or not. Eyewear was well labeled and organized. at one point, LensCrafters use to offer 1 hour service to assemble your prescription. Apparently there is no local lab offered here so it does take longer now. 2-3 days for regular eyewear and up to a week for specialty lenses. Shared parking lot.
