LensCrafters can be found in the Desert Ridge Marketplace. Not very helpful staff were constructed asked how they might help. I asked a few questions about taking our own prescription here and timing for eyewear. They carry many Designer labels. In fact I did not see any generic eyewear so it was unclear if they carried this or not. Eyewear was well labeled and organized. at one point, LensCrafters use to offer 1 hour service to assemble your prescription. Apparently there is no local lab offered here so it does take longer now. 2-3 days for regular eyewear and up to a week for specialty lenses. Shared parking lot. read more

Went for my husband to update his prescription for his glasses and to possibly update his glasses. The service was good, quick to get us into his appointment time- where it fell apart was the technician he was being assisted by had very unpleasant body odor, so strong that I would think a Manager or Coworker would perhaps mention it to the person. My husband was very uncomfortable in the small room with her and when he was done he said he literally felt a bit nauseous. Then, we shopped a bit and he was quoted a pretty expensive price for one pair of glasses- Later, oddly he ordered his glasses online from LensCrafters and paid less than he was quoted- much less. This is a story of lamentable loss followed by radiant redemption. As a gentleman that wears a 7 3/4 size hat, my options for eyewear are lilliputian to say the least. A couple of years ago, I discovered that I was able to put prescription lenses into my oversized sunglasses. This transformed my appearance from that of a myopic bureaucrat to that of someone a bit more fashionable. Yesterday, my enthusiastic yet villainous 75-pound Tamaskan decided to give me an acrobatic head butt while exiting the vehicle. My gigantic skull rang like a bell as I reeled back; the world around me changed to a melange of blurred lines, vague suggestions of color, and an impression of my glasses resting on the floor mat adjacent to the passenger seat. Devastated, I picked up my splintered specs: the left arm had snapped off the frame, the small plastic pin loops mulched like last week's yard trimmings. Through tremendous ocular difficulty, I was able to render my glasses "wearable" with liberal applications of packing tape and colorful verbiage. At that point, my wife suggested that I go to LensCrafters at Desert Ridge. I had another pair of sunglasses, and was optimistic that some form of lens transplantation could take place. I called, and spoke with a wonderful lady who said they could indeed do what was required, and that it would take less than 5 minutes. Thrilled, the next day I headed over during my lunch break. After telling the gentleman behind the counter the details of my eyewear entanglement, the lady that I spoke with over the phone remembered our phone conversation, and also came over to help. For less than five minutes, I sat in the well-appointed and spotlessly clean showroom trying to read an article on my phone. Then my "new" pair of glasses were handed to me, informing me that there was no charge for the work. Shocked, I tried to tip them, but they would not accept. I thanked them profusely, and walked back outside - vision and dignity restored. --- My wife and daughters have been coming here for the past three years, getting eye exams, and buying their glasses. I've always been impressed with how clean the store is, as well as the friendliness and competence of everyone that works there. They have gained me as a customer as well. read more

The Desert Ridge location is great. From the minute I walked through the doors I noticed the large selection of eyewear and the cleanliness and lighting of the store. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and given time to roam through the store on my own. When I made my final choice the check out process was easy. All options were explained and I made the choices I needed/wanted. No exam was needed so I cannot speak on that subject. VERY friendly staff which was refreshing. Be weary of this location. On 11/20/2024, we placed an order for two lenses. 30 minutes later we canceled one of them and was told it was no problem they would redo the transaction. A week later the transaction was not corrected and we were over charged $300 for what we received. The system somehow "lost" or transaction and we had to bring our receipt in so it could be sent to corporate for a refund to process. On Jan 3, we were told a check was going to be mailed out and everything was corrected. We still have not been refunded. Stephanie was the acting manager who promised results and compensation just left the store. The assistant manager Aaron has repeatedly failed to return calls. And the replacement "manager" Janelle refuses to contact me. Every shift lead just blows smoke with empty promises and as of today Sara started mocking me on the phone and then hung up. Be very cautious if you decide to go to this location. I'm pretty sure someone tried to secure a sales quota and has in turn locked up our money and has wasted a significant amount of our time. read more

I scheduled an eye exam for my daughter through LensCrafters' online scheduling portal for the Desert Ridge Marketplace location at 21001 N. Tatum Blvd., Space E-9, Phoenix, AZ 85050. During the scheduling process, I indicated that I intended to pay using my insurance and selected my insurance provider, "BCBS of Illinois," from the dropdown list of insurance providers provided on their website. This selection led me to believe that my BCBS of Illinois insurance would cover the eye exam. Upon arriving at the LensCrafters store, my daughter and I provided our insurance card to the employee, Isaac, and proceeded with the eye exam. It was only after the exam was completed that Isaac informed me of a $100 fee for the exam. I expressed my confusion regarding the lack of insurance coverage, to which Isaac asked if I wanted to use my insurance to pay. I confirmed my preference to utilize my BCBS of Illinois insurance, and Isaac, along with another employee, questioned me further about my vision plan. It was then expressed that BCBS of Illinois is not considered a vision insurance provider, but rather a health insurance or medical-related insurance provider. I had previously encountered a similar problem when attempting to schedule an eye exam for myself at a non-LensCrafters location, where BCBS of Illinois provided inconsistent information regarding my vision provider. Eventually, I was instructed by BCBS to provide my BCBS of Illinois insurance card directly to the eye care provider, and the eye exam was covered at no cost to me. Furthermore, the unknown employee at the LensCrafters store in Phoenix informed me that the eye doctor at their location, as well as at other LensCrafters locations in Arizona, is not directly affiliated with LensCrafters but operates as a subcontractor or tenant within the LensCrafters premises. I later discovered that the eye exam provider is known as DNA Eye Group. Despite Isaac's attempt to determine if my insurance would cover the eye exam by contacting BCBS of Illinois, it was revealed that DNA Eye Group is considered an out-of-network provider, and as a result, my insurance would not cover the cost of the eye exam. Consequently, I was forced to pay the $100 cost out-of-pocket. I find the LensCrafters online scheduling portal to be incredibly deceptive. BCBS of Illinois shows that LensCrafters is a covered provider, and the LensCrafters scheduling website includes BCBS of Illinois in their dropdown list of accepted insurance providers. There was no indication or disclosure that I needed to verify if DNA Eye Group would accept my insurance. Had I been aware of this limitation, I would have chosen an alternative eye exam provider. Additionally, considering that I provided my insurance card to the store employee, Isaac, before the exam was conducted, he should have informed me at that point that my insurance would not be accepted. Neither my family, nor I, will be going back to LensCrafters for an eye exam or glasses again. Enjoy the last $100 you'll ever receive from me. Earlier today, I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the Arizona Attorney General's Office - we'll see what happens. I'll be adding the BBB later. read more

We were in the store for about 10-20 minutes and not once did any of the 3 employees even say hello to us. If you go to this lens crafters make sure you avoid the white floor man who is old and balding. Absolutely no help. I needed a new frame for my glasses because they broke earlier in the day. When I asked if he could find a new frame for me that was similar and in stock her was very irritable. After a long time of him trying to figure out how his computer works he found my frame in a different color. After he sold me on the clear ones he proceeds to say they are on back order and he can even give me a general time frame on when they will come in. Oh did I mention he kept fingering my glasses as I squint to see the pictures he tried to show me. Dude really ruined my experience. I've been a long time customer of this lens crafters and I will not be coming back. If by chance I do come back I will be refusing his service and waiting for someone nicer. read more

I purchased a pair of progressive glasses at the Glendale location but was not satisfied with the fit and the fishbowl effect I was getting. I went into the Desert Ridge location and spoke with Jeremy. He was informative, knowledgable and eager to assist in finding the right pair of glasses for me. Instead of the HD lenses, he recommended polycarbonate to address the fishbowl effect and found lighter, better fitting frames. Jeremy is an expert and did not stop until I was satisfied with the changes we made. For the amount of money I spent on a pair of glasses, I wanted to make sure I loved them. When I got the new glasses all my concerns were addressed and I can say I LOVE my glasses. The clarity, the weight and the fit. I would recommend Lens Crafters without hesitation. Absolutely the worst customer service ever the girl at the eye doctor is extremely rude, unprofessional and not helpful. Had no problem wasting my time today and more than one instance, I would never come back here also just to note when I spoke with the store manager, she was equally unapologetic, and insincere in her regret for wilting my time boy to make an appt that the Dr supposed to have an appt and left . My husband got bifocals at this location in January. The salesperson said it was covered by our insurance. Just got a bill for over $500 because they were not covered. They sold he a pair that was on sale and sale glasses are not included in any insurance. Shame on the salesperson for dumping a senior on this. If he would have gotten a pair that was not on sale he would have had them covered. read more
