Since these frames are discontinued & very special to me, I decided not to risk it. He did try to find a replacement temple, but wasn't able to find a suitable one. Linden was polite & upfront about my options. After leaving, I got lucky & was able to squeeze in for a much-needed eye exam across the way (due to a cancellation) & ended up ordering new glasses. Be sure to call ahead to verify hours, especially around holidays, as they can vary. The shop is closed Saturdays, which is a downside, but it's the only true eyeglass repair shop in the area--other 2 nearby places in the promenade don't actually offer repairs. Prices are very reasonable too. Conveniently located near Target & CVS next to the Kumon Learning Center. I'd definitely keep this place in mind for future repairs.

When I called to schedule I asked how much it would be and they said $15, I'm using new insurance. So, I show up and the doctor is nice however there absolutely no trials in my prescription in ant brand? The doctor had suggested monovision and have used multifocals. I get a pair of lenses that for up close and far that aren't my correct prescription, they seemed good enough while jn the chair. I had previously informed the doctor about only having contacts for distance and no glasses, also having an event at the end of the week (that I found out I need to read now) along with a vacation the following week. All is well she said they will call me when the trials arrive. However, once I go to check out, they inform me it will be $95 which they did not disclose, and it is fine for a contacts exam just irritating they couldn't share that when I asked. But what really got me was that they said it would be $95 TO ORDER THE TRIALS! I'm very familiar how optometrist work with representatives for the companies, ordering trials is free btw, so this already was a red flag. I let them know that I would be in at the end of the week to make a payment. They then informed me they will order trials at that time of payment only. I've never heard of such a thing. So I call Wednesday to explain my situation again and to check if there is any trials that could possibly be in sooner than a week after next Friday. That's when the person on the phone rudely said: what I need to know is if you're going to do the exam, she said this twice throughout the conversation, needless to say, I said no and canceled my husband's appointment for Friday. I will be going back to my old office where they don't expect payment before ordering free trials nor do they waste your time. The girl that took over the phone call is not very nice and is very pushy, I personally don't tolerate that. The doctor was nice however the staff interaction is not worth returning. I do not recommend this office for contact lens exams.

Now after…read morealmost going blind due to a sloppy and disinterested Dr( one that I've been going to for 30 years and used to trust ) and on the brink of going blind due to serious issues any decent Dr would have easily diagnosed I'm lucky to have my eyesight. It took surgeries ( multiple) and I'm now at risk forever for all sorts of problems including blindness, severe dry and very painful eyes, blurry vision. I'm not just disappointed but And uly disgusted, confused and hurt at the subpar "care" I received. I'll never set foot in this place again. I did discuss my experience with Dr. U. and told me his front end staff did not pass all my calls on to him. Of course it's the responsibility of the doctor to make sure their staff are at the least competent and after all that happened it was Dr U. not taking responsibility for his staff or himself. That makes this whole incident even more frustrating, as if it's somehow my fault for all that happened. Imagine fighting 2 types of cancers for 6 years, multiple problems such as horrible infections, many surgeries and the worst pain a human being can endure. Then to be told it's all on me. It wasn't enough I called repeatedly asking for an appointment ( they were denied by the front end staff). My eyes will never be OK yet this optometrist somehow made the huge mess my fault. I'm So disillusioned depressed and saddened. I knew this doctor for 30 years and he walked away from our conversation blaming me for not seeing him. The office staff are more interested in selling their patients overpriced products such as sunglasses than being sure your eyes are healthy and you're not at risk forever serious eye diseases. No one here really cares. Big shame on the dr and his staff. Dr Patrick Utnehmer, please see my message to you I sent yesterday. I asked you to not dialogue with me, by doing this you're breaking the HIPPA laws that are strictly enforced in California. Also you wrote up a version of what you want others to believe, not close to the truth. I stopped seeing you after attempting to come in more than a few times and your office said no because you asked that I continue to try wasn't with different contacts. Not the correct protocol for a patient that had symptoms of a serious eye disease. I had exams after giving up on you and your office, I never went without an exam. It wasn't with you because you didn't bother to see me. When I was calling your office over and over THAT was when my eye problems started, painful eyes, dry eyes, fuzzy vision. When I was asking your staff if I could come in, not 3 years later. Don't twist my words to make you look good. That's dishonest. I did not say( ever) to you I sought eye care professionals closer to where I lived as you wrote, that is something you made up I'm assuming to make yourself look better. And you and your office certainly weren't "committed, attentive, compassionate, professional. " Your words. You ignored me, why I don't know when I was a good patient of yours for 30+ years. Don't rewrite historically or . It's dishonest and untruthful. And do not respond. I'm done. I won't pretend to live in your version of history to save face. Theresa Re
