As I found out because I called my insurance company to request this a refund I had to pay out of pocket to get new glasses. Prior to getting new glasses I called my insurance to make sure I knew exactly what my budget was and make sure when I went to pick out new glasses I stayed within my budget. My surprise when the worker told me that would be $30 that my insurance wouldn't cover. I asked her what it was it for she really couldn't give me an clear answer of why I was being charged $30 out of pocket. Instead of fighting with her because from the instant I walked in I noticed she had an attitude and was very rude not just to me but the other customers so I decided I would just take it up with my insurance company. Call my insurance company let them know what was going on and thought maybe the worker I spoke to prior gave me the wrong information. Nope my insurance company informed me that I was well within my budget and I should not have been charged $30 out of pocket. They asked me to email me a copy of my receipt which I did and that's what I found out that they were trying to scan my insurance company out of money because the amount that they claimed my glasses cost and the amount that was actually on the receipt was off by a couple hundred dollars.

When I first entered, I was immediately greeted by a gentleman affectionately referred to as "Mac". He is nicknamed Mac because it is easy to remember. Let me tell you about Mac. He is a consummate professional. He made me feel like the most important person in his life during our brief exchange, and he really catered to my needs. He was not pushy and tailored my wants and needs with his expert technical knowledge-base and fashion sensibility. I ended up getting two pair of glasses. One for my slight stigmatism, for my far-sightedness. I purchased a pair of Modo frames with that prescription which have been complimented on by others. Additionally, I purchased a pair of reading glasses. They are a stronger prescription for my nearsightedness. They are the most important of my prescriptions for my daily life. The two frames are completely different in design and style and this was intentionally suggested by Mac, and I'm very grateful because they're pretty slick looking. I couldn't be happier with my purchases and I have received many compliments on the look of both pairs. I am very delighted with Mac and Payrite Optical on Greenville Ave. I could not give him more praise if I tried. I had a very frustrating experience at this eye clinic today. I drove 2.5 hours to bring my dad to…read morehis scheduled appointment. We arrived on time, but we waited over three hours before he was even seen. The office felt completely disorganized. Appointments did not seem to be running in any kind of order, and the waiting room was packed with around 20 other patients who also appeared to be waiting far past their scheduled times. My dad was eventually taken back for testing and even started the process of choosing glasses. Then we were told they needed to redo his tests, so they brought him back again. Right as they were about to continue his appointment, the doctor simply decided to leave for the day and refused to proceed with seeing any more patients. This meant my dad's appointment--after hours of waiting and after driving several hours to get there--was never completed. Meanwhile, the waiting room was still full of patients who had appointments as well. I understand that clinics can run behind sometimes, but accepting appointments and then leaving patients without care after hours of waiting is unacceptable, especially for elderly patients who traveled a long distance. I hope management reviews how appointments are handled and ensures patients are treated with more respect in the future.

The exam and prescription appear to be okay BUT the issue starts when you are lead like sheep to the frame showroom after your appointment with the doctor. Sat down with the salesperson and found out that the cheapest glasses I could get for my prescription and lens requirements was $477. All of their frames are at least $199. Went to Sam's Club and was able to get 2 pairs of glasses with the same lenses for $344. There are several online alternatives which offer much better prices than NEA. Do some research and shop around before you buy anything here.
