I had one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had with a glasses retailer. Eyeglass World messed up my prescription not once, but twice--on a pair of prescription sunglasses. The first time, the prescription was clearly wrong. When I came back to get it fixed, instead of resolving the issue smoothly, I was told their machine was broken, causing even more delays and excuses. At that point, I had already wasted multiple trips, time off my schedule, and plenty of patience. There was no urgency, no accountability, and no real effort to make things right. When you're paying good money for prescription glasses, basic accuracy and quality control should be the bare minimum--and they couldn't even manage that. I would not recommend Eyeglass World to anyone who values their time, money, or vision. read more

Always clean! Super nice staff and always helpful. I have a pair of Tiffany Co. sunglasses that I've had forever, but the screw fell out for one of the earpieces last week. I've been trying screws from eyeglass kits, but they were all too short. I went into Eyeglass World today to the Tyler location- and the technician was glad to look at them even though my sunglasses were not bought there. He was able to fix them and didn't charge me anything! He was super nice and his generosity made my day! read more

Dr. Le is the best optometrist in Tyler. She is kind and patient and very knowledgeable. She is more than a doctor but a great friend. After the appointment, we stepped into Eyeglass World. My daughter was able to find frames that were on clearance. Craig quickly called us over and started on the insurance. We used insurance to pay for the contacts and got a nice discount on the glasses. We had a friendly conversation that made the whole buying experience very pleasant. We were able to get the contacts and glasses on the same day. What a great experience. read more

My 12yo daughters contact lens fell out while we were in Tyler. I went to Eyeglass World since we usually do business here. We walk into a busy store on a Saturday afternoon and the store is packed with people... But literally there was a Prince who came to our rescue... Not only did he allow her to rinse the contact and put it back in, but then provided a case and solution in case we had any further trouble... I'm not one for reviewing merchants much, but this is a special case. A week or so ago, I broke my only pair of glasses, permanently. Panic of course, since I need them to drive, let alone see anything within a foot or two. It was Friday so I went to town on Saturday looking for some immediate help. First stop was a loss, all I heard from them was what they couldn't do, and that in an unpleasant tone. I got out of there quickly and went across the street to Eyeglass World. All good here with and obvious concern for my plight and a promise to do everything possible to get me seeing again, quickly. First, of course, was a fresh exam since it had been a couple of years since my last one. Next door was the optometrist where for $45 (no insurance) I got what might have been the best vision test I have ever had (over 50 years). Pleasant, efficient and a 20-20 script in a matter of a few minutes. My last exam, for example, could not provide better than a 20-25 script - FAIL! Back to Eyeglasses where the offer was two pair of single vision glasses for $78. Of course I needed at least dual vision (bifocals) and I have had lineless tri-focals for years. My first need was something to see with and that they provided, a single vision lens to correct my astigmatism so I could drive. Within a couple of hours I had an eye exam, picked out two frames, selected the lenses to suit my needs, gotten something to tide me over for a couple of days, and was on my way. Cost? Just over $300, about the same I paid two years ago for one pair of glasses, put into the old frames. I might add here that I had received two follow-up phone calls from them inquiring about my satisfaction, prior to my return. All this was not without issues of course and that is what this review is really about. When I picked up my glasses the following week the first thing I noticed was that my clip-on sunglasses would not fit. The new lenses were too big. How did that happen? I had been careful to select a matching size to my old glasses, because I have multiple pairs of these clip-ons. Additionally, the glasses that I had did not fit well. Perhaps an oversight by the technician. I returned the following week to get them refitted. I asked for the manager, La Toya. In the course of refitting, I brought up the fact of the frames being too large for the clip-ons. No problem, go find the frames you want and we will exchange them." Really? Who would have thought that. I found a frame that I remembered selecting initially and off they went to be redone. My other pair was adjusted perfectly and I was so happy I inquired about some single vision sunglasses. Needless to say, the price and service was so impressive I ordered a pair of those too. Bottom line? Service, product, follow-up, damage control, personality, value? All excellent!! Thanks LaToya for your patience, understanding and thoroughness. You have a customer for life! Continuing problems with a first pair of prescription shades and prescription clears. Frames, tinting, ear pieces coming loose, lenses falling out. Got them replaced with an incredibly long wait. Second pair of shades the right lens just fell out and broke. When I brought it in, they quoted me a $250+ package. Really junky stuff. Should have listened to my wife. People are pleasant enough, but I have over 2 years experience with them and their product is poor. read more

Called Aug 7th to schedule appointment..staff not exactly to friendly.. asked to schedule appointment was interrupted and informed I would have to wait till next week..which was exactly when I had planned on scheduling so I asked for appointment for Tuesday after 2:30 and was informed they had a 2:30 opening..so today Tuesday I took off work early drove the 30 miles was greeted with a temperature check and informed they did not have me on the schedule? Escorted me to front dest and nope they didn't have me anywhere so I take my phone out and showed them when I had called..oh so now they find me on September 11 at 2:30...so they informed me I could wait an hour to an hour and a half! I realize we have a COVID thing going on, but this place is stupid and rude. Showed up at opening time and was met by a young man ordering me to stand on a line outside in the rain. Then the idiot asked why I was there? They do one thing, eyeglasses. Did he think I wanted a haircut or something? After stating the obvious, that I was there for glasses,duh, he then said , do you have an appointment. I said nope. Well he said, you need one to get in. Ok then give me one. You have to call in for that. Went directly across the street and got great service and was in and out in 30 minutes. Spent over a grand. They'll be space for rent pretty quickly in Tyler, Texas. Oh, I was even wearing a mask. I recognized 3 people at the new location that followed me. Bad business, very bad. read more

My wife and I recently went to Eyeglass World in Tyler for new glasses. We had seen the rating yelp had given them and thought we would try them out. The staff is professional, friendly and extremely helpful. The General Manager, LaToya Rosson, personally took time to assist us in choosing the best frames and lens options. The other employees were also very nice and courteous. I would highly recommend Eyeglasss World to anyone shopping for glasses who appreciates friendly and professional customer service with a large selection of product. First off I was a walk in on a Saturday at 2;30 pm!!!! not only did I see a doc. I saw one in under 10 mins. Dr. king was nice professional and through. and just so you know, he and the shop next door that sells glasses are not in business together. with my eyesight he could have offered me a prescription but didn't, just told me to get them check next year. and all for $45, with no insurance. best deal of my day. read more

Excellent service and a very convenient location. Their competition across the street is always too busy and slow to suit me, so I tried eyeglass world out this year. The service was excellent, the selection was MUCH better, and pricing was fair. Excellent experience overall. read more

I really do not even want to give a one to them but anyway I went to get glasses everything went good up to the point of me picking up glasses in an hour like I was told it took days to get them and I live about 45 minutes away and I called to make they were ready and when I got there they were not so I called corporate and the were going to give me a free pair of glasses but they could not even get those ready in a decent time frame so needless to to say I will ever return to this store! Absolutely awful customer service at this location. We ordered glasses and never Received a phone call advising they had came in. Went in 3 1/2 weeks later and the glasses were there but damaged. They swapped out the frames for another pair but gave no cloth, cleaning solution, or glass case when my daughter left. I called today and was told that they were out of cleaning cloths and that my daughter DID receive a case on Saturday with her glasses. POOR, POOR, POOR customer service!!! read more

I called before going to get my prescription sunglasses changed to non-prescription and they said as long as I got my glasses from them then it would be free. I went in and waited 20 minutes as they helped 4 other people that came in after me before they called me to a table to tell me that it was going to be at least $45 dollars to change out the lenses to plain non prescription lenses! Even though over the phone they said free. Do not waste your time here. I over heard another worker tell his customer as he laughed that he forgot to put in for the second pair of glasses to be half off and didn't know how to input that into the computer.
