We love our West Sac Wally. Sure, not everything is perfect, but I'm glad we have a Supercenter in our city. Their hot food deli is a definite hit and super cheap!

Say what you want about Walmart, but I like going to stores where they have a lot of stuff that you don't find at other places - you can buy everything at Walmart. I like being able to buy food, house hold items and even clothes all in one trip! I also like that this West Sacramento location is in a shopping center with Ikea and lots of restaurants and fast food options. I went after work yesterday to get food and supplies for camping and given that it is camping season, they have multiple aisles of gear all in the front of the store for easy access. Prices are fair on certain items, but I don't normally buy my meats or veggies from Walmart unless I absolutely have to. Staff is usually pretty friendly and helpful. I will say though that I hate that they check your receipt upon leaving now like at Costco - not a fan of that.

Rosca de Reyes is easily found in the bakery section at this West Sacramento location; the Truxel location was out. The price is very reasonable at $12.84, and it comes in a fun colorful box for kids to experience this tradition. I've seen the Rosca go for $40 this year at Mexican grocery stores, so this is a big price difference, especially since I know the kids won't finish eating it. Glad I found this very affordable box; I even bought an extra one to donate to our church. This is a seasonal item so the boxes do go quickly in December and early January.

This is my neighbor hood Walmart and my favorite Walmart. I know so many of the workers by name Mario is a wonderful guy always helpful, love to see George great greeter and always has a smile, James is another greeter very pleasant, Sarita a cashier so nice and personable, Gracie a cashier very kind and such a sweetheart, Pamela another cashier who is super sweet and in the deli my most favorite is Cynthia she is very funny full of spunk and just an overall great lady and i can't forget Eugene in produce always has a kind word and a smile and he always lets me practice my Russian with him lol what a great guy. I know i can come in and get the best service i make it a point to call people by their names i mean they wear name tags for a reason, yea they are workers but they are also humans and great people who should be treated well and respected. The produce is fresh and they have such a huge selection of food and other items, their clothes are better quality greatly priced and super cute, i know its a pain with items being locked up but times are different now and they don't have you waiting to long so thats a plus the store is huge and has great lighting pretty clean and the bathrooms are also keep up. I highly recommend this Walmart maybe you will see me there it's like my second home hahhaha.

I wanted some toilet tablets and they had 2 kinds. Scrubbing bubbles tablets for the tank and gel press on ones for the bowl. I got a package of each. We have 4 toilets so we can test to see which one works better. Now the challenge is we need to clean our toilets before we begin using them. I also wanted a bagged salad for lunch. I know we have food at home and I should really eat that up first, but we're out of salad and I was really in the mood for some salad. They had a Southwest salad that sounded good. As I pulled the front one out I saw the one behind it had a sale tag on it so I grabbed that one and saved around $0.50. Not much, but it was something. It was probably an old bag that needed to be used by today. That was fine as I broke it open soon as I got home. It was really tasty. It was one of those cabbage mixes. It had freeze dried corn and crunches in a packet. Along with a pack of Parmesan cheese. It was a solid salad and I ate the entire bag. I really liked the Southwest salad dressing it came with. Parking is easy if you don't mind walking a little. Soon as you pull in grab a spot so you aren't spending your time hunting around. I got lucky today and got one of the 3 spots up front. And it was just my luck that traffic was light and I didn't have any issues pulling out of the spot to leave. Target is a pretty pleasant place to shop. It's always bustling with people. I know that there a lot of good deals to be had lurking around the store. I used to shop there all the time and find those clearance end caps and get things for a steal. Then over time I realized that those things were a good deal, but I really didn't need them so I was spending money that I didn't need to. After that realization I steer clear of Target. I've saved so much money not shopping there.

The family restroom hadn't been serviced since 10 AM on 3/15, and I'm here on 3/16. There were crackers all over the floor, toilet paper everywhere, and the overall condition was just disgusting. On top of that, the store is always understocked, with basic items constantly out. Lines are always long, and there's never enough staff to support the volume. When you do interact with employees, the service is often rude and unhelpful. To make it worse, they don't even allow you to pay in electronics, which just adds more frustration to an already poor experience. This store seriously needs better management, more staffing, and basic standards for cleanliness. Right now, it's unacceptable.

What a difference a week makes! On 17 October 2025, I posted…read morethat Sacramento's Midtown Target had permanently closed its restroom for customers. Its closing, I wrote, had been ordered by a Ms. Ashley who had just been named the store's new Director. A week later, on 21 October, I returned to Target Midtown -- and the customer restroom was open! It has remained open since, much to the relief not only of customers, but store employees who no longer must turn away people desperate for a restroom. What happened? According to one Target team member, who will remain anonymous, it came down to a lack of communications at the store at 1707 J Street. A day or two before my original posting, Ms. Ashley had introduced herself to Target Midtown's staff. Among other things, she told them she was committed to Target's policy of clean, open restrooms -- and that she would return in November to officially become the Director. Somehow, her words were misunderstood! Believing she had called for closing the customers' restroom, the employees immediately shut it down, when in fact, Ms. Ashley wanted it open! After reading my original posting a day or two after it appeared online, Ms. Ashley tracked down my email address. On 19 October, she sent me an email that said: "I apologize that you were denied access to Target's restroom during your (latest) shopping experience...You should expect to see the restroom open on your next trip into the store. Please reach out to me if that is not the case." In her email, Ms. Ashley indicated she had again spoken to top employees at Target Midtown to clarify matters. "I have reinforced the open-restroom policy with the leaders at the store who are running it until I report in November," she told me in the email. Ms. Ashley apparently found out abut the restroom crisis by reading my Yelp posting. Though I haven't met her, let me say it on the record: Ms. Ashley may be the best Director this Target has ever had. The employees respect her; they like her -- that's what they have told me. Thank you for reopening the restroom, Ms. Ashley! And thank you, Yelp, for posting my words. Target employees told me they, too, are glad the customers' restroom is open again. "It was really difficult to tell guests there no longer was a restroom for them," one Target Team member told me. In closing, I apologize for my delay in posting this follow-up, but I have been extremely busy. Thank you!

So, it's that time in our lives that we are looking to start the money pit aka kitchen renovation…read more We've been in our house for a few years now, we're finally settled, paid off our cars so we have a few extra bucks. IKEA was the first place we thought of for inspiration. We were surprised at the color scheme we looked at and liked. We were attracted to the blue cabinets or the olive green cabinets as they would look good with our dark floors. An ask for countertops, I don't want lament as it won't hold it's shape. I like the glass composite countertops as they look more sturdy. We were surprised that they sell stoves, ovens, and microwaves. We thought they would be dummy's like the TVs are. I question the quality and longevity of IKEAs kitchens. They mostly show the lament kitchen tops. It's much cheaper then the composite glass, but I doubt they will last as long. I found the sink style I like. We have water outflow issues with our sink and facet, so I found a set in sink that I liked, no lip that goes over the countertops. With the countertops questionable longevity, now I question the cupboards quality and longevity. You have to give them props for being reusable price, I just don't want it to wear out. In the end we are thinking that the cost will be around $15,000 including instulation. I'm thinking more like $20,000 as things always cost more than you expect them to. Our next stop will be local hardware stores to check out their offerings. We really like IKEA's set up and displays. They are so realistic with the walls and all, it makes you feel like you are walking into a real kitchen unlike the hardware stores where you are just looking at the counties tops and cupboards. One things we observed with IKEA is they have lots of stark white cabinets. They brighten the room, but stark white against dark brown floors woudld be doo much of a contrast. And reminds me of the black and white high contrast baby books they make for tummy time. A little too contrasty for me. So, here we are looking at an investment as ours is still functional so there really isn't a rush. My husband has a point, let's spread out our large purchases over the years and not do everything at once. This year will possibly be the kitchen. Next year will be painting the house. And there is a good possibility of doing the ac and heating units. Last month was the fridge. And a few years back it was the washer and a few months after that it was the dryer. So in the end everything is pretty much spread out. Oh, don't forget the dishwasher and around 5 years ago it was the dishwasher and hot tub. The good news we're not in debt.

Maze of displays and merchandise of furniture (for every room), shelving, lighting, houseware, storage, linens, towels, rugs, live plants, art, curtains, cutlery, and Swedish snacks. But I don't go on the weekends. That's when it's full throttle crowded. My last shopping experience was on a recent late weekday afternoon. Before I go into the not so great moments, let me tell you the great stuff. The cafeteria food server was terrific. A lot of indecisive folks ordering good and asking questions, she handled it like a pro and kept the line moving. The cashier assisting at the first floor self check out was super helpful. Most of the furniture is made of sustainable materials and cheaply priced. Heck the majority of the furniture in my home is from IKEA. If hauling and assembling your own furniture is not your thing, keep in mind they offer assembly and delivery for additional costs. I've done both. You can check inventory quantity and the aisle and bin # location of furniture items on their website. Not so great: On my visit, the restrooms on the second floor, next to the cafeteria, were in awful shape. They changed the restrooms to multiple toilet rooms with motion activated low flow flush toilets. I encountered horrible bathroom toilet visuals. I went into 4 vacant toilet closets to get one without a #2. Grody! Then the toilet did not flush, there is no bypass button. Purely just motion activated that was not working. IKEA- for goodness sake, go back to the drawing board on these toilets. Also the cafeteria was low on several food items and ran out of coffee. Surprisingly since it was around 4pm, nearing early bird dinner time. Maybe a good thing considering the toilet situation. But not great when you paid for a cup of coffee and waited over 20 minutes. I was assured by the cashier, when paying for a coffee, that it won't take long to brew a fresh batch. Possibly staff can monitor the coffee. Plus I didn't understand why the cafeteria cashier letting line cutters in. He allowed a customer to cut the queue to purchase a drink. I didn't say anything to either the cashier or customer. But my opinion is that the customer go through the queue and get in line behind the others; bypassing the hot food line makes sense but not the line of folks queuing up to pay.
