I love IKEA. Much of my home has been furnished via IKEA. This is the primary location I have visited (and maybe the only location now that I think about it) It's fun to walk through the store and check out the space for inspiration, and just as fun to walk through the lower floor, where you can shop for just about every home essential you'll ever need. The warehouse aspect is also a lot of fun for me, though not everyone's cup of tea. I especially enjoy the IKEA food court. Incredibly affordable and tasty. There are always fun and interesting foods to try, including the classic staple, Swedish Meatballs! The best part about IKEA is the pricing. It's truly an affordable place to furnish and decorate any space. I believe that the quality is fantastic for the price, and I have always been impressed by how the pieces hold up over time. read more

So, it's that time in our lives that we are looking to start the money pit aka kitchen renovation. We've been in our house for a few years now, we're finally settled, paid off our cars so we have a few extra bucks. IKEA was the first place we thought of for inspiration. We were surprised at the color scheme we looked at and liked. We were attracted to the blue cabinets or the olive green cabinets as they would look good with our dark floors. An ask for countertops, I don't want lament as it won't hold it's shape. I like the glass composite countertops as they look more sturdy. We were surprised that they sell stoves, ovens, and microwaves. We thought they would be dummy's like the TVs are. I question the quality and longevity of IKEAs kitchens. They mostly show the lament kitchen tops. It's much cheaper then the composite glass, but I doubt they will last as long. I found the sink style I like. We have water outflow issues with our sink and facet, so I found a set in sink that I liked, no lip that goes over the countertops. With the countertops questionable longevity, now I question the cupboards quality and longevity. You have to give them props for being reusable price, I just don't want it to wear out. In the end we are thinking that the cost will be around $15,000 including instulation. I'm thinking more like $20,000 as things always cost more than you expect them to. Our next stop will be local hardware stores to check out their offerings. We really like IKEA's set up and displays. They are so realistic with the walls and all, it makes you feel like you are walking into a real kitchen unlike the hardware stores where you are just looking at the counties tops and cupboards. One things we observed with IKEA is they have lots of stark white cabinets. They brighten the room, but stark white against dark brown floors woudld be doo much of a contrast. And reminds me of the black and white high contrast baby books they make for tummy time. A little too contrasty for me. So, here we are looking at an investment as ours is still functional so there really isn't a rush. My husband has a point, let's spread out our large purchases over the years and not do everything at once. This year will possibly be the kitchen. Next year will be painting the house. And there is a good possibility of doing the ac and heating units. Last month was the fridge. And a few years back it was the washer and a few months after that it was the dryer. So in the end everything is pretty much spread out. Oh, don't forget the dishwasher and around 5 years ago it was the dishwasher and hot tub. The good news we're not in debt. read more

I haven't been to IKEA in years. I've always had fun experiences looking at the multiple room displays within the claustrophobic building interior. Maze of displays and merchandise of furniture (for every room), shelving, lighting, houseware, storage, linens, towels, rugs, live plants, art, curtains, cutlery, and Swedish snacks. But I don't go on the weekends. That's when it's full throttle crowded. My last shopping experience was on a recent late weekday afternoon. Before I go into the not so great moments, let me tell you the great stuff. The cafeteria food server was terrific. A lot of indecisive folks ordering good and asking questions, she handled it like a pro and kept the line moving. The cashier assisting at the first floor self check out was super helpful. Most of the furniture is made of sustainable materials and cheaply priced. Heck the majority of the furniture in my home is from IKEA. If hauling and assembling your own furniture is not your thing, keep in mind they offer assembly and delivery for additional costs. I've done both. You can check inventory quantity and the aisle and bin # location of furniture items on their website. Not so great: On my visit, the restrooms on the second floor, next to the cafeteria, were in awful shape. They changed the restrooms to multiple toilet rooms with motion activated low flow flush toilets. I encountered horrible bathroom toilet visuals. I went into 4 vacant toilet closets to get one without a #2. Grody! Then the toilet did not flush, there is no bypass button. Purely just motion activated that was not working. IKEA- for goodness sake, go back to the drawing board on these toilets. Also the cafeteria was low on several food items and ran out of coffee. Surprisingly since it was around 4pm, nearing early bird dinner time. Maybe a good thing considering the toilet situation. But not great when you paid for a cup of coffee and waited over 20 minutes. I was assured by the cashier, when paying for a coffee, that it won't take long to brew a fresh batch. Possibly staff can monitor the coffee. Plus I didn't understand why the cafeteria cashier letting line cutters in. He allowed a customer to cut the queue to purchase a drink. I didn't say anything to either the cashier or customer. But my opinion is that the customer go through the queue and get in line behind the others; bypassing the hot food line makes sense but not the line of folks queuing up to pay. read more

This is a fun store! I used to shop here a lot a decade ago for materials for my living space. I bought items such as dishware, rugs and lighting. I still have some of these items like my lamp and coffee table. It is fun to just come here and walk around to get inspiration for your own home. You can get some good deals and the items are cool. I do love coming here for the cafe. If you signed up for Ikea Family rewards, you can get a coffee or tea free with each visit. I recommend doing this. We recently went and saw the kids Småland was open again! It has been closed for so long so the kids were excited to try it out. We decided to drop of the kids there while went and grabbed food at the restaurant. There were kiosks to sign up and provide you children's information. They allow children 37 inches and 54 inches, starting with age 3. Children must be potty trained as well. Once we signed up at the kiosk, we checked in at the counter. This day they allowed kids to stay for 30 minutes inside. The staff completing the check in was very pleasant. They give wristbands for the kids to wear, and you write down your name and number. They have the kids enter and will text you if the kids need you or when your time is up. When our time was up we picked up our kids and they had a great time. They had no issues and already asked to come back. Check out process was seamless. We did feel the kids were safe and will definitely plan drop off the kids again! read more

The location is a great. It's in a vast shopping center surrounded by other businesses and restaurants, mainly the Super Walmart, the parking lot here is so massive that you shouldn't have an issue finding parking. However, IKEA gets pretty busy on weekends. This place is absolutely massive after their renovation and you can spend hours in here. It's literally a maze of cool furniture and it's great for showing you new ideas. The food court is really good. The prices got stuck in the early 2000's and is really affordable for 2026. I'd say expect to walk out of here for about $20 for a meal for two. The portions are decent and you should get full after your meal. I like wandering around and browsing and getting ideas about home improvements and furniture additions. There is A LOT to look at so it's important to stay focused. Got some ideas for shoe racks but TBH when I wear a women's size 11 and hubby wears size 13 the options are limited. But nonetheless there was a couple choices. What was off was their new all gender bathrooms. They are alllllll single stall. And a communal wash basin. It was ok but j can imagine the area will be crazy crowded during the holidays. I love going to IKEA! There are so many things to look at and so many options of furniture. It can be over whelming though. We came here on Saturday to look for floating shelves and a drawer. We walked through most of the levels. The line for the cafeteria was so long. We waited 30-40 in line. I wish there were more workers and they said their soda machine was broken so people couldn't get drinks. We got the Swedish meatballs and the salmon with garlic bread. I would say the price is fairly decent. I think we checked out for three items around $180. Building the stuff doesn't come with clear instructions but it's pretty easy to figure out. 10/10 for family bingo night. A friend of mine recommended to look at the event page for IKEA and I found that they do bingo nights once a month! Bingo is right in their restaurant/ café and it's free to play - you just have to make sure to sign up. They do run out of spots, so sign up early. We ended up getting dinner. The chocolate cake was so delicious! Also, we won! On Friday the $25 IKEA gift card - so awesome that they do this event for the community!! read more

Came to do a little shopping and grab dinner at the café. We arrived a solid two and a half hours before closing... apparently just in time for the Great Potato Shortage of 2026. No mashed potatoes. I snagged the last of the peas (I felt like I won a raffle), and was told more were coming... eventually. Sadly, my two companions were not as lucky in the pea department. Meatballs were still holding strong, but salmon had already swum away for the night. To top it off, the soda machine was down. The cashier didn't mention it when we ordered drinks -- she just quietly didn't charge us. A silent protest? A mystery? We may never know. We still had fun shopping and made the best of it, but next time we might eat beforehand -- just in case the vegetables clock out early again. Ikea is always a well thought out and practical store. Plus you get your steps in and then do some heavy lifting when you buy furniture. Its all made to be efficient. We wanted a book case to DYI at a nook we have at home that is not being used and frankly looks ugly. We went with our tape measure and measure ments and hunted down a book case. Being as everything is interchangeable and can combine panel doors with or without glass we got a little confused on the ordering part. No problem there was a sales associate there ready to help. He was so helpful with information and giving us the order sheet. Next we went down and loaded up the product pieces. It was so simple. Next loading onto our truck was the heavy lifting for sure. I used to love coming to IKEA. Unfortunately, each visit I like it a little less. When my grandson and I got to the restaurant, there was only one employee working so there was long lines and they were out of so many dishes and it was only 12 noon. They have kids meals, but for some reason the two chicken strips with french fries is not a kids meal so it's $10 which I think is quite a bit. I ended up ordering a kids meal and paid half the price. And we all know it's a purposeful maze here in order to entice people to buy more products. But my grandson was having an allergy attack and had to go to the bathroom and it took us so long to find a place. And now it's only self check out. Not only do you scan all your items you have to bag them as well. The only bags they have are ones that you have to purchase. It was a daunting experience, which I don't care to repeat. read more

I've been desperately trying to persuade my husband to accompany me to IKEA for yyeearrrsss now, without success. He said it was a divorce-worthy request LOL. A You-Tuber review I watched recently called IKEA "a labyrinth where couples go to break up", so is this a thing? Is my Hubs correct? Well, I'm here to report he may have been on to something! I planned a girls trip this past weekend to play the FAMOUS IKEA Bingo & eat the equally famous IKEA meatballs. After a few people flaked, it was just me and my SIL, and I can confirm my husband would have *HATED* my ADHD wandering around a maze of shit that you really want, but need NONE OF IT. I can easily see how you could spend all day in here. It's colorful, inexpensive and sooo alluring to the eye. You can make a case for almost every gadget & trinket you see. We were absolutely cackling at the names of every useful looking item in out best Muppet's Swedish Chef voice. It's fun in here, for sure. One thing worth mentioning is there are many items displayed that have been discontinued (years ago, an associate told us!) or are frequently out of stock, which makes it hard to gauge what's actually available! Pro tip: PREREGISTER for Bingo. It fills up weeks in advance! 200 people came to play on a random Fri evening! The upstairs was PACKED. It's free to play and FUNNNN!!! Unpopular opinion - the food court offerings are TRASH. They say never meet your heroes. Frozen supermarket meatballs, hard WinCo Texas toast, and *very* fishy salmon. 1/2 of the fountain drinks had no syrup so you just got sparkling water for the price of soda. The Disney-esque queue took almost 30 minutes to get thru and cut into the Bingo game, and they had already run out of literally everything 20 minutes prior to 6pm. Even the seemingly instant spuds that come with practically every dish. No desserts, no fruit, no add-on sides. Just empty cases. If Bingo happens monthly - and is scheduled weeks in advance - and you know it brings an additional 200 guests for food - what happened? Seems weird to run out of so many options at a cafeteria-style restaurant that serves a 265,000 sq. ft. retail store. The price point & simple DIY nature of their furniute makes it a slam dunk for dorms or first apartments. The accessories are the icing -whimsical, affordable and in a palate of colors to match just about any decor. Overall, driving from Reno for Bingo & meatballs, it was a fun overnight trip, and I'm glad I came but it's a one-off for me. read more

Our visit started off poorly at the IKEA restaurant. Tables were not cleaned, and many customers did not return their trays or food to the correct place, which made the dining area messy and unpleasant. Despite it only being around 6:30 pm, there was very limited food available, with several menu items unavailable. The situation was not handled professionally. Staff were openly laughing about having burned the garlic toast. We then participated in IKEA's Safari Scavenger Hunt with our child and completed it as instructed. What should have been a simple, kid-friendly experience turned into an exhausting and infuriating runaround. After finishing the scavenger hunt, we searched the children's area for a staff member. No one was there. I went downstairs to checkout to ask for help and was told to go back upstairs. Upstairs, I found no one again. I went back downstairs and asked another staff member, who had absolutely no idea what I was talking about and offered zero help. I returned to checkout and asked a male staff member in yellow, who then sent me to the upstairs restaurant cashier. The cashier was rude and dismissive and essentially scolded me, saying he "did not deal with that" instead of offering any guidance. Back downstairs again, I asked another female staff member, who directed me once again back to the same male staff member in yellow. At this point, I was being sent in circles by multiple employees who either did not know, did not care, or did not want to help. I eventually had to raise my voice just to get someone to pay attention. Only then did the male staff member in yellow finally hand me a chocolate bar as the prize. This was poorly organized, poorly communicated, and completely unfair to families who took the time to participate. If staff are not trained or informed about these events, IKEA should not be advertising them. What should have been a fun experience for kids turned into a stressful, frustrating ordeal for parents. Extremely disappointed. I would give it negative stars for wasting my precious time. read more

We haven't made it out to Ikea in a few years. We finally went back on Saturday. We found a few deals. My sister liked the bathroom rugs I got from Ikea. I got her one also. I noticed this time a lot of items with out price signs. Usually every is labeled for price and what the item is or used for. I have shopped at Ikea before it even came to west sac, I would travel a couple hours to get to the closest location. On April 28th I went shopping and there were very few employees that seemed helpful, I would see them gathered around talking amongst themselves instead of checking with customers. The big item I purchased needed to come from behind the counter. I ended up getting injured, at first I thought it would just hurt for a bit and stop, but it's didn't it's a large welt and my arm is in pain. The employee that was there when it happen just turned around and walk away. So I have tried to call to get a hold of someone to let them know what happen. They have collected my information multiple times at the call center stating I will get a call back from a manager at the store, never happened.Again, I am on the phone with them trying to get someone on the phone. You would assume if a customer got injured at your business you'd want to see what happen. I just hope no one else gets injured! read more

Needed some bookshelves and IKEA was recommended. Having never visited this store, I was overwhelmed. The selection is vast, so go in with a list. The price point appears to be fair and the staff on the floor is helpful and friendly. My only negative would be all the self serve stuff. Having to find my item in the warehouse by aisle and bin was at times confusing, as I needed multiple items for a remodel. I am also just over 5 ft tall, so moving and lifting the items was a task. The building is NOT handicap friendly, nor are the employees helpful! The signage does NOT clearly explain how to LEAVE the building and forces you to walk a maze to exit. Anyone with mobility issues is forced to walk an entire WAREHOUSE in a maze to escape and if you are claustrophobic, there is NO windows or clear views. Everywhere looks like a firetrap! When I asked employees for the quickest way out, I was repeatedly told to keep following arrows and "you will find your way eventually "! Ty re is ONE entrance and only ONE WAY OUT OF THIS HELLISH PLACE Then when you have a return, you are forced to stand in a line until they literally call you on your phone to make the return! It was both the worst experience in my life EVER trying to shop and then just as terrible with a return. Oh IKEA, you big corporate warehouse filled with items I always want! Truth be told they have just "ok" items all the way up to amazing pieces, depending on your budget and aesthetic. Just walking around viewing the styled rooms make my brain work overtime, plotting my redecorating plans. I really believe with IKEA you have to take the bad with the good: They have cheap low-quality items, and at the same time offer high quality peices that can really add to your home aesthetic. I have purchased disposable cheaper items, so I am now very mindful when I pick out new pieces. The linens have also vastly improved throughout the years and it seems they have no end to their shelving solutions. From the outside this store looks amazing but I wasn't expecting to get lost in there... it just kept going and going and going... I ended up finding a food court and checked out the menu... the food looked good but I was still stressed out about finding the exit. I asked a worker and they gave me advice on where to go. I went but the doors were the ones where employees usually go so u turned around and tried to find it myself... I had to ask a lady who was there to help me find my way out. Came here to pick up some more dish-ware. Tons of parking. I chose to get their cheaper white dishes, which were .79 cents a pop! The price is for a variety of dishes such as big dinner bowls, small bowls, small plates and big plates. They're made of tempered glass and lightweight. This is my second time getting them since I broke a few before that I had at home. They have many varieties of dish-ware and had pricier ones that were more sturdy and heavy. I also like their bath towels because they seem bigger than average ones. I've also ordered a dining table online for pick up here. The one thing I don't like is their shopping carts! They remind me of rolling office chairs since they can be pushed 360° it seems and I feel it makes it more difficult for me to steer the cart. read more

What can be said about IKEA that hasn't already been said? The food is good and really more of a cultural experience if you get the Swedish meatballs, the utilitarian blue and yellow ambiance is also part of that experience, but the real reason that you go there is to be guided on a tour of your potential home. Selection is the king at IKEA, value is the queen, and service is the prince. Overall, there is something for everyone and at an okay price. The main drawback is uniqueness. You will find something to do the job, but it won't always feel unique or that it expresses your particular vision for your space. read more

Sadly, this location has really gone downhill over the years. We visited on a weekend and it was severely understaffed, especially in the kitchen area after the self-checkouts. One young employee was running around trying to manage everything alone, which wasn't fair to her or the customers. Several ordering machines were broken, no utensils, broken soda machines, tables were dirty, even the trash cans were nasty,and multiple menu items were unavailable. The overall experience was disappointing and nowhere near as memorable as it used to be. I hope management takes steps to improve things. read more

I asked 3 employees and they all left me lost and navigating thru a maze of stuff i carried nothing about. I was able to find the microwave I wanted.
