These stores can be a bargain hunter's dream. I think to get the maximum benefit from stores like That's Cheap, you'd want to come repeatedly to see the new items they stock. We've only been in a few times and they've had pretty different items each visit. Though there were a lot of the same items each time. On our latest visit there were a ton of two types of squishmallows- they were all over the store. There were also things like decorative items, toilet paper, dog toys, some jackets, little toys and outdoor furniture. I remember the first time we visited they had a good amount of lamps and other household items. This would definitely be a place resellers might like- though there are limits on how many of each item you can buy which deters that. It's also a good place to pick up items you don't need, but that might be handy or useful eventually. The staff was friendly as we entered and left and it's pretty open and organized inside. We did notice that everything isn't clearly labeled with prices and there are some types of items that had signs out front with flat pricing. You'll want to pay attention as you enter and you can always ask if you aren't sure.

Well. At first I was an avid That's Cheap shopper but now not so much. When they first opened their stores they were great. I could actually say "That's Cheap."....now I'm more often inclined to say...."That's a rip-off.". First. They should have some sort of return policy for furniture you have to put together of at least 3 days or something considering we bout two desks and one was the electric rising desk you get from Costco. One worked, and one didn't after putting them together. Their manager, I don't know his name but let's say "old mustache guy" poignantly said "no we won't accept an exchange" after I called him the same day advising him of the situation the same day. Let's say that's said and done. Now, I also have the VIP app and what I've experienced is buying things, showing up, and because of their staff error, the product isn't actually available or is completely wrong. Now as we move on to pricing. Make sure you download the Target and other store apps and scan the prices. They definitely up the price over actual retail value more often than not so do your homework. This cologne is an example. They're charging much more over standard pricing and the product isn't in the box. Kind of shady business when it comes to the app these days so just beware.

It's a large warehouse sort of setting with a lot of overstock items from Target or Amazon. It's mostly brand new items with normal packaging, as far as the smaller items, but for larger items like furniture and framed artwork, they tend to be open box. Some of the furniture items had cosmetic issues, like minor stains or scratches/dents. The general items I found here included home decor, lamps, framed artwork, outdoor furniture, indoor furniture, pet care, cleaning items, bedding, clothing, shoes, jewelry, toys, hair/bath items. Some of the items are overpriced when comparing the price here vs the price on the sticker. It seemed like some of the prices are what you can get if Target had a sale, which they tend to offer (anywhere between 5-50% off depending on if it's an advertised sale or Target Circle offer) or if the item goes on clearance (usually 30-70% off, sometimes 90% with seasonal items). Most of items in which they have a large stock of, will not have a price sticker on there...instead you can probably find a sign that indicates the price. For items like furniture or framed artwork, they tended to have the price sticker on there. Wished there was a scanner to check on prices of items that are randomly left somewhere in the store, but can't find the price sign. It seems like they occasionally have a sale on items...from the time of me writing this until 6/12/22, they have 50% off home decor. Lots of parking space available. Not too busy with customers. They had 1-2 cashiers on hand, and some employees around who were rearranging the store. I'd say it kind of reminds me of Falling Prices without the "falling price" concept, and is more organized, less chaotic...the deals aren't as great, though. It's probably nice to check out once in a while if you might score something you weren't thinking of getting.

I was driving by and the name caught my attention, so I decided to check it out. It's basically a big warehouse of random stuff - from furniture, to household goods, toys, and even food/drinks. I noticed a lot of the stuff is overstock items from Target, so I'd you're a fan of Target, check it out! Some of the items were not marked, so I had to ask for the price. The worker wasn't really the friendliest, but it is what it is. Go in with an open mind and I'm sure you'll find something.

    So, is it cheap?

When you see a store with a huge sign announcing, "That's Cheap!", you have to go in and check it out. For the most part, they're right - the stuff in here tends to be on the cheaper side. Not everything is a screaming bargain, but 9 out of 10 items are on the inexpensive side. The store is sprawling, taking up the old Toys R Us space. Surprisingly, they had a ton of furniture, though some of it was in odd groupings (set of three chairs vs. four). What we picked up on is that a major chunk of their inventory appears to be overstock items from Target. Did you want some Threshold, Magnolia, Project 62, cheapo dollar area, etc. Target items at a discount? Woo buddy, have I got the spot for you... The store is kind of like a Big Lots, but it was well organized, staff was friendly enough, good variety, and Target goodies galore. Oh, also, it's pretty cheap.

This is the best-organized store of its kind. I have passed by here all the time without knowing what they're because the colorful storefront makes me think it is a church! Another church takes over a shopping mall! Lol! They have many furniture and household items with unbelievable prices. Of course, all items are hit and miss! So pick it up right away if you see something you like. It may not be there next time. The parking lot is very big and super easy to found parking very close to the front door. No problem loading to your car if you buy too much!

I was at brunch at the Cheesecake Factory with my partner and he noticed the That's Cheap sign across the parking lot. Being from Sac, I was already suspicious cause.... well.... the name just sounded sketchy as hell to me and that part of Arden Fair Mall has never been the best. I was expecting a 99c store type of vibe... I was wrong... Furniture. Furniture. Furniture. I was not expecting the amount of lawn, patio, and home furniture we saw. The first 5-8 rows we saw were nothing but loveseats, L-sofas, ottomans, coffee tables, chairs, etc. The very first row, we set our eyes on this beautiful, modern, L-shape sofa that we both fell in love with instantly (we'd been meaning to get a new couch....... keep reading). We kept walking around the store and I was approached by a store employee named Robert who told us that everything in the store that day was 40% off (yes, 40% off :). The listed price for the couch was about $,1284.99. After Robert's calculations, the couch came way down to just over $600. That was all we needed to hear, and we purchased the couch immediately. We were told we had 48hrs to pickup the couch (guessing they don't do delivery?) which was no big deal. Along with furniture, they had bulk items such as comforters, cleaning supplies, foods (yes, even food. didn't check it out really, but think granola bars, fruit snacks, etc.), makeup, art, gaming sets (pool tables, etc.) toys. If you can think of it, they probably had it. From what I can tell, That's Cheap gets leftover items from stores, companies, and sell it for cheaper (think Overstock, TJ Max, Ross, etc.) The couch itself is just amazing (see photo). The couch was made by Divani Casa, which appears to be a pricey brand. The couch had a few light stains here and there, and I noticed that other pieces of furniture did too (probably from people trying the couches out). I'm a clean freak, so the first thing I did was clean the couch down with furniture stain remover + PineSol, and the stains easily came out. It's extremely comfortable, no wear or tear ANYWHERE, and we're extremely pleased with this purchase so far. The staff overall was friendly and we even had a good laugh with them about one of their couches. When we came back to pick everything up, the 2 gents who helped us carry the first piece of the couch out were both friendly. Manager was friendly and congratulated us on our new purchase. Robert was a tremendous help, and I can honestly say if it weren't for his knowledge on the store + products, we wouldn't have bought anything that day. Everyone was extremely helpful to us. Even if you're skeptical like me, go in and just check them out, it won't hurt. And I'm willing to bet you'll find something you like (look for Robert if he's there :) .

Shared parking lot. Not many customers around in the late afternoon on a weekend. Very limited number of carts, so there may be none available on arrival. The staff don't wear masks, and there's no hand sanitizer available for customers. Only one cashier was checking out customers, so there was a long wait. The experience varies depending on what week you come in. If you visit right after they restock or when the discount is low, it's relatively tidy and there's plenty of inventory even with a third of the store blocked off. I came in when they were having a 75-90% sale according to their website, but there was no sign posted about the discount in person. I didn't purchase anything this time, so I can't confirm if there was truly a discount. 80% of the store was blocked off, and it looked like a tornado blew through. Trash all over the ground and empty shelves galore. Customers leave their unfinished drinks behind. Lots of Christmas overstock, including gift bags and tiny decorative trees. Very few Halloween or Easter products.

It was quite a mystery from the outside to figure out what kind of store this was. We were curious and walked right in. $39.50 for a Star Wars themed Instapot? Hey, why not? That definitely is cheap, especially for an Instapot! Lots of interesting and random items for sure....Rogaine for Men, kitchen items, shampoo, boxed cake mix, disinfecting wipes, towels, bathroom items, furniture, phone accessories...very random indeed. I'm not sure I'd return though. I much prefer Grocery Outlet instead for a more organized discount store. But if I was looking for discount furniture I'd give this place a try first, you just never know what you might find.
