She has, more than once, when I've checked out, negatively commented through judgement, both to me and about me to other cashiers and patrons, on my use of a non Marshall's credit card for my purchases. She even goes so far as to comment when I'm with a different cashier and she's working next to us. Once, I was with a different cashier standing next to her when my cashier asked me if I wanted to $ round up for a cause. After I said no thank you, this cashier, standing next to us, started making comments out loud about how she couldn't believe that I said no and then began judging me on how ignorant i must be and not have any awareness of the cause. Her behavior was highly offensive and hurtful as she has no idea about my personal experience and contributions to this cause. She doesn't know me but that didn't stop her from making humiliating out loud and inappropriate comments to me and about me. She negatively commented again just last week as I was checking out with another cashier. Since she won't stop doing this, I will stop going to this store and I will continue to share my bad experiences with others.

The item is a $30 pair of pants. As the return was happening I wrote on my phone and secretly showed the person at the register the situation and that I wanted to repurchase it for her later. She nodded and I gave her my name as we left. As soon as I got out of her car to go home I called and gave more info to have them hold until tomorrow morning when I could again. They told me they would not hold it over night due to their policy. Okay. I knew the policy cause it's been like that forever. I've also seen them wave it many times. Multiple friends over the years have worked here and has shared plenty of stories. I've also worked in stores with the same policy myself and there are always exceptions. I try to talk with the manager to ask if they could at all even until opening tomorrow and just kept coldly saying no. They told me I can come tomorrow and just buy it again as if it was so obvious. I explained how I don't know what the item was. My mother bought it and returned it and I never saw her try it on. So they said I could have it "described" to me so I could find it after. I ended up having to ask someone to drive me back out just for these pants because I wanted to do something kind for my mom. So from a business perspective 10/10 upholding a policy. As a person trying to do a nice thing where it result in a purchase and communicating with a business 4/10. Tact from manager and delivery of words chosen 1/10. Making my mom happy buying the pair of pants she gave up to pay bills with no job? Priceless. The manager was Jonathan btw and when I got there turns out they tried to describe a completely different pair. So they also just would have had me buy a totally different pair.

Literally every piece of clothing I was interested in was missing in most of the desired sizes for me it was L or 32 waist product. Jogging pants in that size, gone. Their Tek Gear line was bear. When I gave up on myself and decided to use the Kohls cash for my wife for Christmas they had nothing in her size for active wear (she is a dance teacher). This is IN SEASON stuff we are talking about and it was missing. When I went to checkout the the associate assigned to a register was wondering off to find a size for a woman on the display but not available. Great customer service BUT not when the lines are long as it is. They need some of other members of the staff to be handling those to keep the flow for checkout. I cant just blame this store though as this is one of the downfall of my Kohls experience and it has happened even prior to COVID. I left after 45 minutes of looking with something that I'm not sure if my wife will like but it was the best i could find for what was available for the size.

I was in this Burlington today for some last minute school clothes for my daughter. On that sour note the woman I was told is the store manager is not a nice lady. I have tried to return things two days after buying them and she will refuse the return if the items do not have a Burlington price tag on them even if I have the receipt. My daughter and I have witnessed her bullying employees then turn around and greet us like she wasn't behaving inappropriately right in front of us. The environment at Marshall's next door is much more pleasant and their products are much better quality, I will not be returning to this Burlington.

However, they still have a couple of anchors left including Dick's Sporting Goods and Boscov's. Other large locations include the TJ Maxx and the Middlesex County Library. They're opening a Yale Health Clinic here soon, too. Other smaller stores of interest to me were Champ's Sports, FootLocker and Ramani's Clothier. There are some options in the food court, but not a ton. Only two places, Charley's Steaks and Tokyo Express were open when I visited. There's a Ruby Tuesday's and Cajun Restaurant near here, too. The mall is clean, which is nice. Easy to navigate, too. Altogether, Meriden Mall isn't the best mall, but it's nice and has some good stores.

Everything has decent prices and the store does great sales often. All the clothing is nicely organized from baby, girls, and boys. The selection can be overwhelming that there is so much. Most items are gently used, excellent condition, and some still have prices tags. My recent trip I went in with a plan and found a few pieces that I currently can't find at other stores new because they were out of season. While most of the store is very organized, the toy section is a mess that I don't bother picking through. A lot of the larger toys can be found above the clothing. The staff were really friendly and I signed up for their rewards program. Overall, Once Upon A Child is great, but I'd like to note that whatever cleaner they use is very strong that I have minor allergic reactions (feeling itchy, scratchy throat, etc,). I can only shop for so long and symptoms disappear after I leave the store. I've wondered if anyone else has experienced this.
