While in the area, we stopped here to get a few things like chips and salsa. Their prices were very similar to the ones in Providence. The store itself was very well laid out, clean and well lit. As other Aldi's, not many people on the floor to ask questions, and only one register open....but they do scan fast. Aldi is a great discount grocery store. Make sure you have a quarter for the grocery cart that will be returned.The store has a great variety of items, many are their house brand. Problem is what you find there on this visit may not be there on your next visit. Their produce, and dairy section are very well stocked with fresh products. They also have a great selection of snacks, and kitchen necessities. The savings here are unbelievable. You will leave there smiling knowing the money you saved. read more

I love Aldi! This is the first Aldi location I've ever been to and I'm obsessed! Aldi is great for shoppers who are on a budget but still want high quality products. You can find many products that are healthy and organic to fit your needs. They have standard items that they always have as well as seasonal and limited time only items. I love trying new and interesting foods and Aldi ALWAYS have new things for me to try. I always walk out with something interesting to try whether it's a new health drink or snack food. The grocery store is currently going through renovations (but is still open during construction) and I'm excited to see how it'll get better and better! read more

Aldi is a decent discount grocer, it is different than other american grocery stores - they dont have big aisles with shelves, just stacks of boxes making up pathways. The quality of everything I have bought at Aldi has been surprisingly good, and cheap. The weird part is the non-food items they sell, they offer unique seasonal products - over the summer it was a hose or a sprinkler or lawn chair, maybe in the winter its a shovel and a dvd player and some new star wars lego. they have had products that i liked and when i went back they didnt carry it anymore, a lot like (sister company) trader joes. some of the food is name brand, some is store brand. this was the first aldi i went to in CT and they have opened a few more recently, the newer ones feel a little cleaner and newer (for now) and all are good and worth checking out if you are looking to stretch your grocery dollars a little further as long as its not too far of a drive .. read more

Grab your reusable bags and a quarter...we're going to Aldi kids! I'm a big fan of Aldi; this place makes me enjoy grocery shopping. Normally, you have to slog around the entire store and pass around thousands of items you're not interested in...not at Aldi! Aldi is a discount grocery store. Most of the items here are their house brand; "generic: if you will. Do their "Nacho Chips" taste exactly like Doritos? No, but pretty darn close. And that goes for just about everything they sell here. Trust me, most people won't notice the difference. But you know what will? Your wallet. We've cut our grocery bill significantly after shopping at Aldi. Take your normal list and visit Aldi...you'll see a significant difference. Aldi is run by a company based in Germany. They also own Trader Joe's. This is a more utilitarian version if you will. Most of the stores are laid out in the same manner. They're very easy to navigate and find the items you are looking for. Aldi now takes credit cards which helps a lot. It used to be debit cards of cash. You have to use a quarter to get a shopping cart. This actually prevents them from being scattered around the lot. Everyone returns the cart. Bring your own bags! The cashiers check you out and put the items back in a cart. You then bag your items after you check out. Service here has always been excellent. The cashiers and employees are friendly and helpful. Two minor gripes here; both not worthy of a star removal: The carts here are huge! It feels like they bought the carts from a warehouse club. This location doesn't sell beer and wine. Probably more of a CT rule vs. corporate. Stores that sell alcohol tend to have good prices. All in all, this place will save you some coin! So normally I love Aldis, today when I went there was chicken juice all over! Something was open or punctured. I had to go wash my hands immediately! I then went to the register and told the girl what had happened and said she should tell someone to clean it. All she said was okay. I then listened as I bagged my groceries and she didn't tell anyone! Mind you they all have wallow talkies to speak to one another throughout the store! Very unsanitary and I'm extremely grossed out. ALDI is by far the best discount grocery chain out there. Bring a quarter for your grocery cart (you get it back when you put it away) and your reusable shopping bags (paper/plastic bags cost money, another cost savings measure by the company to keep prices low) and go to town. They do not carry a full selection of everything you would find at a standard supermarket. The only branded items in the store are weekly specials. Everything else is private label. I am able to do probably 60% of my grocery shopping through ALDI. I easily save $50 a week. The milk, bread, eggs, and cereals are extremely inexpensive. In my opinion most of their items taste as good as or better than the branded counterparts. Their private label items can cost up to 70% less. Generally the only time they are not the best price on an item is when a supermarket deeply discounts the item. The store is clean, the staff are friendly, and the lines are generally very manageable. Be aware that they only accept cash or debit cards. read more

It's a very good store. The prices are simply amazing and you will always find something unique that you will not find anyplace else. Problem is sometimes once it's gone it's gone. They do have very yummy things you are not going to find anywhere. It's easy to move around in there. Nice open spaces and I find it fun to shop there when I get a chance. read more

Aldi RULES!!! If you don't want to get ripped off buying food, shop at Aldi, seriously. As with all things though, there are certain compromises one must make. If you're into brand names - Aldi probably isn't for you because they have their own brands for just about everything. However, these brands are just as good and even better in some cases. Their meat and produce sections aren't great but pretty sufficient for basics, and their over all selections are limited. One thing I don't like is they have great stuff one week then the next week it's gone and may never be back again- IE they used to sell frozen perch fillets years ago that were awesome and I've never seen them there again. This kinda sucks, but it won't ever steer me away, the savings are significant at the very least, and definitely takes the grocery bill sting away every week. Highly recommended read more
