Today was maybe the kickoff to harvest month and some events. IT WAS PACKED. Not to worry, everyone was civilized and there were plenty of attendants. Lots of parking all over. SERVICE Everyone to a person was ready for this crazy rush. Filled with kids and regulars, I think the staff knows what to expect cuz they were all pretty chill. FOOD First: The sandwiches and wraps came with chips AND AN APPLE. Perfect. Dad had the Cuban Sandwich (I've never seen it on a pumpernickel and rye swirl bread) but he loved it. Vegan Macintosh wrap with Portabello and hummus was fantastic. Hit the spot for a cool autumn day. GIFTS Maple sugar candy isn't made here anymore, but the candy is made by a larger company out of New Hampshire. DONUTS They didn't run out of apple donuts today, but they were definitely a hit with almost everyone. ACTIVITIES Today was an event day, with hundreds of families taking part in Clydesdale Horse wagon rides, kiddie train rides, and lots of other family activities. The food we ate was hot and decent, and it looked like they actually bake and prepare things on-site, which is really nice. We came for the advertised petting farm, horse-drawn wagon rides, train ride, and other fall activities. Unfortunately, the "train ride" was an absolute rip-off: $6 per person for what we were told would be about five minutes. It felt closer to two minutes and just looped around the same small area. The corn maze was pretty awesome, although it was challenging and difficult to find our way out. Thankfully, there were workers inside helping people navigate. We didn't find the advertised petting farm or horse-drawn wagon rides during our visit, which was disappointing because those were part of the reason we came. Overall, we enjoyed the store, food, and atmosphere. I'd return, but I'd definitely skip the train and check which activities are actually available before going.

We love River Ridge for their wide variety of produce; everything is full of flavor and tastes better than anything we can find in the grocery stores. We're especially grateful that they always have some of our favorites that are usually hard to find: ginger, turmeric, and local garlic! We also really like their fermented black garlic. The real reason we are willing to drive 40+ minutes to shop here is because of the incredible River Ridge team. Dakota and Matt are two of the friendliest people who clearly love what they do.
