Best little farm! I never even knew it existed until I read about it on a town Facebook page one day. They make a variety of fresh dairy products almost daily. Raw milk, chocolate, strawberry, and coffee milk, yogurt, soft cheeses and gelato. The chocolate milk and strawberry gelato are my favorite. The only negative is that you can't always get what you want, they don't make the same stuff every day and they sell out fast! They also sell flowers and some veggies in the summer months. Store is on the honor system. Cash or check only. Bring small bills as you need exact change. Follow their Facebook page to get announcements on what they have each day, and don't wait too long to head over there if they have something you want! read more

Awesome place to bring your kids for a farm visit and get fresh, raw dairy products! The interior of the barn is on the dirty side (it's a diary farm so picture cows, manure, and hay everywhere) so definitely wear boots. The exterior has small and large pens full of cows as well, but with perfect opportunities to do some petting. They have calves born routinely, definitely call ahead to see if they have a baby you can visit! The diary market is not huge (just a small room to the side with two large fridges). However, they come stocked with yogurts, milk, cheese, and in the summer they serve ice cream. We bought a half gallon of plain raw milk and a half gallon of chocolate milk (we pasteurized at home). Both were good quality! If you want to support local farms, get extremely fresh diary, and show your children the beauty of farming then this is the place for you! read more

I would give it 5 stars for quality and taste but Melynda is not very good at returning calls or responding to emails. Sometimes I want to stop by on the way somewhere and I call to see if she has any milk left, no call back. I go way out of my way from the Merrit Parkway and there is no milk left. The milk IS THE BEST. and... if you try the chocolate milk you will definitely be hooked, you will crave it, lol. The cheeses are splendid on a bagel in the morning or even to make salads. She seldom has cream which I love. Melynda also sells veal and soup bones, fresh farm eggs, gellato, ice cream, which is divine, like nothing you have tasted before, as I said... the only thing I am really not happy with is that she never gets back to you and I have to drive a really long time to get there, often for nothing. One time I reserved a milk and a cream and when I got there it was not there, so I don't know if she didn't bother to leave it, (I do not want to judge, I like to give people the benefit of my doubt) or someone just took it even though it had someone else's name on it, I wouldn't know because I have only spoken with Melynda maybe twice in the past 2 years. I wasn't able to go there for almost a year now. I really miss the milk but I do not want to make such a long trip to find an empty fridge :( I can't believe someone would take someone else's milk. It's so dishonest. Don't these people realize that some of us travel almost a 100 miles for this milk? Shame on you greedy, selfish people. We just moved to Durham and were curious to see what this place had to offer . Well we were pleasantly surprised to see all the FRESH dairy products here . Once you get used to the milk that this farm produces all other milk tastes like shit. And a side note don't bother buying the chocolate milk because once you taste it you are HOOKED and no other chocolate milk comes close. read more

Deerfield farm is a small working dairy farm with about 40 head of registered Jersey cows. You can purchase fresh milk, yogurt, soft cheese, and chocolate milk, as well as other items right at the farm. Let me warn you... Once you've tasted their milk, you will never go back to buying milk from a grocery store again. The chocolate & coffee milk is to die for. Once in a while they'll also have farm fresh eggs and gelato available for purchase. read more

Very nice farm, I think I may want to sign up for the csa. We tried the raw milk tonight and it was very light and not gamey at all. We will make mozzarella with it tomorrow. Note- the cream is not heavy cream in case you are trying to make butter or whipped cream. Very good in coffee though. read more

I've been getting yogurt here for about four years. It's so good, rich and creamy and tasty. Not many eggs are produced sadly, when they're in the store they go fast. When I've been able to get them, they're the best eggs in the world. Also, the prices are NOT expensive as other people have said. A quart of yogurt is $5.50. Eggs are $5.00. That's way more than a fair price for "Farm Fresh." read more
