The store is usually okay though the "greeters" seldom greet or even look up from their phones. I go there early in the morning and often have to dodge the associates who are stocking because they certainly don't bother to look out for me. I often buy vitamins there, and though this isn't the store's fault, I've discovered that their store brand multivitamins are a product of China. I don't think China's safety and efficacy standards are the same as ours which makes me hesitant to use those products. Overall, the store is pretty clean and organized for the most part and some associates are friendly. read more

I used to love this Walmart but boy has it gone downhill. They have the rudest associates, I used to work retail and I would never imagine being as rude as these associates are. My boyfriend and i were joking with each other and one of us shoved the other while we were leaving - normal thing for people to do - and we literally got yelled at by an associate. We did not touch any merchandise and we were not being loud. Normal everyday banter and someone literally yelled at us. Yelled. Also the clearance sections are the worst I've seen at any Walmart. I am broke, and when I look at clearance I don't need to feel like a peasant while I am at it. So disappointed. read more

My best friend, her cat Whisper and I veered into this Walmart in hopes of avoiding the oncoming tornado. Luckily, this being a well established establishment we were allowed shelter in the bakery . We were met with the most kindhearted strangers who offered us food and water and most importantly, friendship. For starters, Michelle (the blond(?) lady) was incredibly kind to us and made sure everyone stuck here was okay. Kristin was also very memorable to our experience. Alison and Josiah helped us get water and snacks. Most importantly friendship... Gavin also had a fire fit like he out dressed all of us.We are forever glad to have experienced this kind Walmart. I bought a humidifier filter on line from Walmart.com. It was the wrong size, so I thought I could return it or exchange it after speaking with someone at Walmart, who told me just to bring it back to customer service and they would help me there. I only get, "You can't return it and that I must have bought it from a 3rd party." Are you serious? Due to this you have a very disappointed customer who probably will avoid Walmart in the future. I ended up buying the right size filter anyways at the store . This was very poor customer service and she really acted as if I was just annoying them. (Although I did get an apology.) Order number 2000124-84073092. Why wouldn't you accept a return and or an exchange who was just given Walmart.com to contact Walmart about it. I experienced great customer service today from Cordel and John. Cordel went out of his way and asked us if we needed help. He walked us around and helped us find exactly what we were looking for and even pulled up more items off of Walmart.com. My bag broke on the way out and John was quick to help pick up the items and get me a new bag. Thank you! read more

I don't know if this is corporate policy or just this store, but either way it's messed up. Apparently if you get hurt in their store, they have to pay your medical bills for the rest of your life. BUT- If you get killed in the store they just have to pay your one time funeral expenses. I know this because I was buying my kid a Christmas gift, and needed to be in and out quickly since I'd forgotten and he was wondering why Santa hadn't come. Needless to say I was a little distracted, and got hit by a semi while walking into their store! I actually heard my leg break, and assumed the driver was backing up to survey the damage. To my surprise, the truck revved it's engine and came at me a second time, this time intentionally trying to run me over! I managed get out of the way, but had to play dead until the driver left the lot. A manager eventually came out to check on me, and seeing I wasn't dead disappointedly explained the policy to me. I get that it makes financial sense on their end, but still don't like that I have to be in a wheelchair for the rest of my life. They were able to give me 10% off a gift for my son, at least, and the drama actually made him forget about Santa altogether. Maybe next year he'll be too scared to let me leave the house, and I won't have to keep wasting money on toys that only he likes to play with. read more

I used to visit the old Walmart here and it was terrible. They finally replaced it with this one and its just the same cliental just a bigger store and more people. I have shopped at several other Super Walmart's regularly in my life and for some reason this one just feels crappy. People who haven't bathed in a month, homeless people, people in their PJs and the list goes on. I usually skip this one and go to the one in Monona. Now my biggest complaint, the lighting! They're trying to be green with all new and natural lighting and I can't see a thing. Several other people I know have said the same thing. read more

I mean, it's a Walmart. They're never anything special. The new supercenter is open 24/7 and features a grocery section. I come here more for groceries now than I do anything else. Things tend to be out of stock frequently. The bakery area is one of the high points. They have good cakes, donuts and cookies. I don't ever interact with workers. When I come in, I know what I want and don't need help. I use the self check out when I leave because it's quick and I never purchase many items. Parking is nice and improved. It's organized and easy to navigate. Plenty of space. read more

Well it's been 3 years since I last reviewed this Walmart. Here we are now in 2014 and they've torn down the old, tiny Walmart building and erected a gigantor super Walmart just behind where the old one sat. I'd like to dance and prance through fields of flowers and sing the praises of this new "super" Walmart, but I can't. Have you ever been to a ghost town? Have you ever been to a ghost store? *Cue the creepy music* This super Walmart has all the usual stylings you find at most super Walmarts. You know what else it has in common with other super Walmarts? A skeleton crew. There are 4 cashiers,manning the 20 check out lanes, and two customer service peeps behind the counter. All the other employees are stretched as thin as possible to cover the rest of the store. I'm in sporting goods, I need a fishing license. Nope. You will have to walk all the way back to customer service and request help. They will then call for help in the sporting goods section over the PA. Next step: enter the grumpy, overworked employee. This is the standard MO for all departments. If you can't help yourself, you will be going on a hunt for the elusive, poorly treated employee. This is not unusual for Wally world these days. Many locations run on a skeleton crew, so the bazillionaire Waltons can save a buck. read more

It's Walmart. If you watch People of Walmart.com or have shopped there you know the clientele here. It's not quite like the stay at home moms that sip Starbucks as they cruise Target with their kids in the giant carts. I typically avoid Walmart as I despise constantly being stuck waiting for someone to move or listen to some kid screaming, or adult. But it is cheaper than most places. Their Great Value/Members Mark brand is comparable in every item I've tried. This Walmart looks clean and well-stocked even though I wasn't tripping over a flatbed full of toilet paper that someone is placing on shelf. As an added bonus as I was preparing to leave I heard the announcement that the computer system was down and the only thing open was self checkout. I walked towards the line which was winding around like a Black Friday sale and I heard other shoppers grumbling. However, every cashier moved to the self checkout and assisted customers patiently and politely with their purchases. This line actually moved, staff managed to reshift their roles with confidence. I was surprised and completely impressed, to be honest. I can't give 5 stars as I think they should have a system that doesn't fail when you have a giant business. But I didn't feel the need to haul out my camera and capture the craziness, so it was a pleasant experience. read more

The pharmacy staff here are so terribly rude, loud, and unprofessional. They have no time for the customers and appeared to be under- staffed and stressed out all the time. I'm seriously thinking about moving to a different pharmacy. read more

I'm really happy that this is open 24/7 I was able to pick up a few things here which is great. The parking wasn't bad. It's your typical Wal-Mart. The price is right but there aren't very many workers that are willing to help. I guess I wouldn't be too happy to work late at night either... but you do what you have to get by. Anyway, the price is right for housewares but I'm not too sure about buying produce here. Wal-Mart is there when you need it! I'll give them that! read more

It's Walmart. That already resets the scales, so adjust accordingly. A 2/5 rating for a normal place is equivalent to a 5/5 relative to other Walmart stores. This, this Walmart deserves a 1/5. The typical customer here comes in three forms: 600 lbs 30 year olds who are less capable of walking than your run-of-the mill escapist Alzheimer's resident at the nursing home, people so poor and ignorant that their day time job is trying to return things without receipts just for the thrill of berating the already miserable employees that made regret daily that they took a job there, people who aren't already happy enough that Walmart is dirt cheap and must argue about the price who belong shopping at an establishment who cares, and finally, decent, normal customers who just want to save money. If you think your service here wasn't wonderful, and you expect it to be, take a second and realize the people working here are stretched so thin, they are usually covering 3-5 departments (each with returns, aisle cleanup, replenishment, and demanding, impatient customers who are often rude because they waited for the employee to get there not realizing how much they are already in the middle of). Just acknowledge that next time someone there is helping you and they will get so much nicer knowing you understand. Trust me, I worked there for 3 months. I should say "I survived there for 3 months without losing it". read more

It is a walmart so i never expect much but i think this is the smallest walmart i have ever seen! the selection was slim to non. and the school supplies were all over the store. I shop at the Sun Prairie store quite often for lunches for work. never had any issues until recently. the morning Blonde Greeter for no apparent reason started watching me like I was being shady. this morning she had to scan my receipt. seriously lady I bought Ramen Noodles. and did self checkout with another associate standing right there. so why would this lady think I was stealing. this store has lost my business. read more

I had to call three times to get to the pharmacy. the first call was to the main number and was answered by someone screeching something completely incomprehensible and hanging up. I think she thought she was talking over the intercom. My second call, also to the main number, was answered by someone who was almost as bad as the first. not only could I hardly understand her, I don't think she understand my request for "the pharmacy please." After 4 minutes of not being sure if I was on hold or simply lost in their phone system I searched the internet for a direct line to the pharmacy, called it on my cell phone, and then after someone answered it, hung up the first phone. read more

If I could give the Walmart in Sun Prairie less than 1 star, I would. I have only been in this store about a half dozen times since it was redone. Literally each and every time you have to wait, and I mean FOREVER, to get someone to check you out. There are 18 checkout lanes, but ONLY 3 ARE EVER OPEN/MANNED at one time. There are store employees running around with clipboards, coming out of the bathroom, talking to each other, etc., but NOONE WILL WAIT ON YOU. Every checkout has about 5 carts lined up waiting to check out, they are blocking store aisles they are so long, and noone cares!!!! No new checkout is opened, the employees in the 3 lanes checking do not seem at all interested in moving beyond snail pace, they chit-chat too much with the customer's (hey, I'm not here to make a friend, I'm here to purchase something). I recently ditched my full cart at the checkout and walked out. As I exited, I talked to a female employee near the door (standing around doing absolutely nothing, who instead could also be checking people through?!?!) and told her what had happened. Hope she lets the higher-ups know, but doubt it will matter. This may be a "Super-Walmart" but hey, NO, their customer service is NOT "Super" ----- never again will I shop at this store. I'd rather pay a little more for my items and get treated like a human being, than have to BEG somebody to buy their shit. Puhleez. read more
