I have been going here for 8 years now and nothing has changed so it's time for a review to at least get my frustrations out. Unfortunately the worst Walmart I ever been to. Unfortunate because it is the one closest to me. If we have a huge shopping list we drive to Gilroy Walmart because they stay stocked. I don't know why they can't stock this one. Common things like Prego meat sauce never in stock unless you buy the biggest size. Kraft Mac and cheese you know kids love it why are you out. Drinking Water come on hit and miss if they have it. Great value brand sodas in cans out all the time. I have been there when they wheel in the pallet for the drinks and see only 2 12 packs of a flavor when they are completely out. They have all this scanning software to keep track of what people buy why can't they see to up the amount they order. OMG if it is not a common item forget about it. You will just see that empty spot on the shelf with the tag for where it's supposed to be forever. It's like they don't want your money. Because I start my shopping here because you can't beat the price but if they don't have it then I end up going to Lucky's or across town to Foods Co who keeps their stuff stocked. read more

Went in to buy 4 items I was in line for 18 minutes with 4 registers open... but the employees could give a you know what they take their sweet time on purpose to piss off the customers so they won't come back, slowly scanning and bagging on purpose... seriously?! I was looking for a go phone for my pre-teen daughter one Saturday afternoon. I looked at what was in stock and then once I felt like I knew what I wanted I went to seek out an associate to assist with the some final comparison between two choices I was looking at. I approached the counter asked the associate for assistance I asked questions you could tell she didn't have a clue. She said hey I just put some of these on seeon a clearance table. I looked found a great Samsung G3 for $35.00 and purchased the phone card to go with it. I left pretty happy! I went home straight away and proceed to activate it. After 4 attempts and needing to speak to Virgin Custoy Service I realized it's not gonna happen till a business day. Monday after work I called again still wouldn't activate so I called in time to catch Custer care with Virgin Mobile the Customer service associate was more than kind and reviewed my purchase and said we have discontinued this service plan that was an exclusive with Walmart last year. That phone will not work and the card you purchased will be worthless. They apologized and asked what Walmart I purchased it at that they would notify the rep in the area to secure the inventory and Walmart shouldn't even be selling or have these any longer. I gathered my worthless purchase and returned to Walmart but made the mistake of going to a different Walmart closer to home. Once there the I explained the details and the associate reviewed the contents in the box and found the earbuds were missing. "We can't take this back the ear buds are missing"! What I don't even recall if there was earbuds or not. I explained the fact it was on clearance and an open package. I asked.for a manager and one came. He repeated the Customer service associates words and I explained again it's an open clearance item, he then said it's incomplete so if the Davis St Walmart wants to sell incomplete Items they can return them as well we are not going to take back their losses! My mouth dropped your kidding me I said. I ran home and found the earbuds and headed back to Walmart but decided to go back to the original store. I arrived waited in like for 30 minutes and was told they would take back the phone but not the card. WHAT you made me buy the card said I had to have it to work the phone turns out you sold me something that you shouldn't have even sold me or anyone else your selling expired unsupported products and you won't take it back? I ended up really loosing my cool and 2 managers later was offered a refund on the phone and a store credit for the phone time card. I asked if I could be allowed to look for replacement phones and do an exchange and the manager agreed. I found a tracphone and card and paid more but got what was needed and got the hell out of Walmart. When I say bad things about places where bad experienes take place I tend to weigh them against the great experiences alas I realized I have not one to compare to. I go to Walmart only when I have to it is never first choice. I'd rather drive further to avoid Walmart. I spent 3 hours of my life I'll never get back. read more

Yesterday I went in around 9am, I wanted to do a coupon transaction summer eve wipes buy two boxes get 1.50off Manufacture coupon @ self checkout I needed a coupon approval and a older age white lady refused to enter her employee ID she said she would ask her manager, then comes back and says her manager "Candes"said she didn't have to enter her Employee ID if the coupon didn't go threw the system automatically and says she can't over write it. There wasn't any need to overwrite anything, it just needed an approval. I knew she was bluffing but as a respectful individual I let it slide didn't purchased them and walked away. Next time I will go in and most likely will take a print out copy of there coupon policy and educated there workers first time it's ever happened to me. From all the stores if gone to Dollar general,CVS, Walgreens and target. No where does it state an employee can refuse to not approve a sale transaction! More like does your employee not want to do there job? Was I being a target of racism because I am Latina? I coupon to save money and the lady had the audacity to even made a side comment like she's not paying full price! It's not a crime to save money! I work with customers all the time, that's why I am an educated respectful individual but maybe she wasn't having a good day maybe she just wanted to be right when she was wrong with her point. read more

Today I went to buy a tooth brush and oh surprise it was locked up, just like other products I needed, when they started doing it I thought it was ok, but now every time I go there are more and more products locked up, so I decided to leave and purchase my stuff somewhere else, and I don't think I will go back there or any other walmart that keeps things locked, is so ridiculous. read more

Walmart on, 1375 N Davis Rd Salinas, CA 93907 United States, has VERY POOR costumer service. I went to pick up my drive up and no one would come out. I left and it was saying on the app that i received the order. I kept calling them and no one would answer i would try the help center and no one would answer there. So i had to place another order "cheap in price obviously" to get them to come outside when i got to the store since they wouldn't answer. I went back the next day and a girl, short with glasses and on the big side, kept telling me that my order was no there and that she didn't know what happened to it. I asked to speak with their manager and she told me the manager had left early. When i brought up that they could check the cameras to see what they did with my order another guy finally came out, he was taller, bald and slim, i believe his name was Chris. Now he kept telling me that my order got "canceled" but not "fully canceled" and that i had to call a number. I kept asking him for the number and he just kept saying it was the one thats on the online page. I then told him that i still wanted him to write down the number to be 100% sure it was the same one i had called. He went back inside, came outside with a paper and pen on his hand just to ask me in the end what my order was. Keep in mind that i had already told the first girl what my order was. So then he goes back inside and guess what? He comes out with my order in his hands! His excuse was that the bag was placed where they hadn't looked. WORST experiences I've had here. read more

Back in early 2000, this specific Walmart was an upbeat place to shop at. It was better organized and staff was friendly. Today, this place took a dump in everything. Staff is not friendly, fruits and vegetable place looks like a mess. Parking lot is always full of carts. I work as an Assistant Manager in San Jose at a popular retail store & I can say, whoever runs this Walmart is a lousy manager. Produce section has serious problems...fruits/veggies are often past questionable or will be rotten within a couple days. Tonight, popped in for a few items, including a 6-pack. Spent 20 minutes in line, get to the register at 10:10, get everything rung up & then am told "Sorry, we don't sell alcohol after 10." WTF? Even the guy in line behind me started arguing that I was in line before 10. The beer isn't worth an argument or delaying other customers further, but what a ridiculous policy (and one that should be clearly disclosed to customers before they get in line!) read more

Even with the new Super Walmart in town, I STILL wish I could give this place zero stars. I don't know who thought there was enough parking, for starters, but they need to be hit in the head with a really heavy, blunt object, because there just plain isn't. When you walk into the one entrance, it only goes downhill. There are twenty registers, yet in the four times I've been in there I've seen a maximum of eight open - even though the lines were six and seven customers deep. The aisles are way too narrow, everything's crammed, and the store as a whole is just organized terribly. Additionally, in an effort to squeeze "a little bit of everything" in there, they have drastically reduced their selection. My advice? Either continue to pay the extra $$$ at Target or make your way to the Gilroy store. read more

This is the best daycare ever. My son has so much fun playing with his new friends, riding bikes down the aisles, and using whatever he wants off the shelves. Not only is it free child care, sometimes when I pick him up in the afternoon, he's wearing new clothes that I didn't even have to pay for. There might not be much structure, and all he eats during the day is candy, but he's so happy, and he's even learning Spanish. read more

This review is specifically about the Tire and Lube Express at this WalMart. Don't ever go there! I paid for an oil change with Castrol Synthetic 5W30 oil. The service writer told me ahead of time that they didn't have it in boxed oil and would have to take bottled oil off the shelf, so it would be extra. I said that was fine. When I went out to the bay area to watch them do the oil change, I noticed the guy using a canister containing the bulk oil and thought it was strange, but he was already pouring it in at that point so I made a mental note of it. When my vehicle was done, I went to pay and saw my bill was still charging me extra for the bottled oil, so I questioned it. Of course, everyone acted like they didn't know what I was talking about and tried to tell me it was just more because of the tax. I clearly knew it was not added tax and showed the guy behind the counter that, who was clueless. He then said he would call the manager. By this time, I suspected they were charging me for bottled oil and I wasn't even sure what oil they actually put in my truck. The manager was someone not from the Auto Department, but went out to talk to the employee that did the oil change. He finally came over and told me that when he went to do my oil change, he saw they were out of Castrol Synthetic 5W30 so HE decided to put Pennsoil into my truck without asking me, even though he clearly new it was my truck because we had talked about it prior to him starting the change and I was only standing 50 feet away from him within his view at the time he made this bad decision. He claimed they were out of the oil I requested, which was not true, and I told him I would show him the oil on the shelf. I told he and the manager that they would need to drain the oil that was incorrectly put into my truck without my requesting it and put the correct oil in it, which they did. What would have happened if I had not been watching and went shopping instead? Maybe they put straight conventional oil in cars to save money and charge for the synthetic? This shop was unorganized, unsupervised, and the employees were all unprofessional from the time I got there until the time I left. The exception was the manager that came in to assist who seemed polite and tried to help out. Everyone else I dealt with was a train wreck. Will never go back! read more

I just read another guy's complaint. No bags? Really. So now you have replaced workers with self checkout and now I get to load and unload my items one at a time and return my cart. When did Walmart hire me? I don't work here yet I'm doing all the work. You sell bags. Go get some bags. You were out of an item I wanted so we ran by Kmart. They had bags. Maybe you could buy some bags from them? Or be all Walmart-ish and have your customer go buy the bags and bring them to you. Just an idea. :) Your company really does suck. With all the negative reviews about this store, my experience was much better. I ordered a set of tires on-line and since Santa Cruz does not have a WalMart, I had them delivered here. Saved a bunch of money on the tires and they arrived in just 4 days. The guys at the Tire Shop were great. Friendly and fast. I paid only $15 bucks each tire to have them installed. Big savings there as well. Its a trek from Santa Cruz to Salinas, but it was worth the effort. Couldnt have asked for more. read more

On the few occasions in the past when I have shopped at this Walmart in Salinas I have not had great customer service but also I have not had really poor service associated with rudeness. I went there only because my daughter in law wanted to purchase some items. This is what happened: The checker told me at least 3 times that she wanted me to give her change. I gave her $40. for a $20.09 purchase. Stop here - The manager should know how rude this checker was = that is why am writing this review. I said to her: I do not have change . . . Since when is it OK for a checker to argue with a customer? Perhaps she knew I was an easy target to steal $20 from. I would have gladly given her $20 if she asked for it. My daughter in law standing right behind me gave this checker a dime and the checker did not give me back the extra $20. This was my fault for being really tired/ inattentive. I cannot prove this happened. But I do remember the rudeness and I hope the managers will read this The biggest problem I had at this Walmart was with the extreme rudeness of this checker. And your produce area looks extremely neglected as well. Did not get her name HOWEVER I think it is important that other clients who go to this Walmart should get better quality service. It would be great if the management would do better training for the checkers at this Walmart. This too could be an outstanding store with a proper management who cares. PLEASE IMPROVE THIS STORE. Dirty. Michael the manager pretty jerky as I had a question regarding why the store (per several employees) does not stock toilet seat covers and the toiletpaper dispensers are taped up in almost every woman's stall??? They just have rolls Willy nilly. Pretty gross if it falls on the floor then you wipe unknowingly. Its Wal-Mart! A billion Dollar corp. Why don't they fix their stuff? Undesired location? Hmmmm.... He then walker the 3ft to the nice customer service person and she pointed to me and he gripped his jaw tightly. Ummm michael having a bad day? I then told him I had asked for Corina in return he said she wasn't available(conference call). Speaking to him, after Cornina(big wig) wouldn't come to customer service, was a waste of time.Michael (store manager) gave some b.s. story about calling the janitor over to address the cover problem, but that doesn't address a billion dollar company question of why not repair something as simple as a toilet paper dispenser instead of keeping it taped closed. While all the employees were VERY PLEASANT, the manager here sucks and the corporate visit today is a joke! Maybe Michael isn't such a bad guy, maybe he isn't a total nimrod? Who knows? But corporate is totally setting this store up to be gross and a failure. Didn't touch on the subject of a black zip tie being used to pull stall door shut instead of getting fixed, or the dust tape job preventing the papertowels from falling on the floor... Don't come here. This store is horrible I left here wanting to cry and rip my hair out. After getting funds removed from my bank account after inserting my card for a $200+ purchase and having a glitch basically remove the funds but not give a receipt. I was told after 30 minutes of waiting that the payment was declined and it didn't go through and that they could ring me up me again. After checking my mobile bank app and seeing that the funds clearly had got taken out of my account and leaving me with not enough balance to pay again for that amount.while being ignored and not getting any sympathy, just looks from the staff like i had a disease. I had to leave the store with nothing to show for it. The night manager who was a woman tell me I would receive the funds back in a couple of days because on there end it showed the payment had declined and that there was nothing she could do. The sad part is this has happened to before and thats what prompted me to check my bank app in the first place so that I wouldn't get charged twice like it happened to me before. The manger acted like if she were to take care of me it would have came out of her own pocket ideally I wished she would have made more of an attempt to make the situation better. I strongly believe she was there determined to show me she was the boss and she was going to show me I was wrong.. A gift card for my inconvenience or something would have been noce but I plainly get told I can be escorted out of the store if she so wanted me to. It's crazy to have to worry about said glitches like this in a well established store like Walmart. And then getting treated like you are the problem even though the manager said to me that it isn't my fault but neither hers for what happened. And that I basically would just have to deal with it and wait two to 3 business days to see a return. It's just insane that a million dollar company could glitch the way it did take my money and leave me waiting and state it's up to the bank now and how fast they are. Like basically washing there hands. And putting it on my bank. It is insane! Whether I get my money back or not this kind of stuff shouldn't happen. Am I right?!? Like seriously. On top of that the bathrooms were filthy. Toilet paper everywhere no seat covers the sink was clogged and over flowing. This store is bad. Also good luck getting any employee to smile. I was in Salinas today (2/24) and headed toward North Davis road first (most often I head to Northridge first). Upon arriving, I got hungry and headed to Walmart. I'd been to this location in the past, and noticed how much different it looked from the last time I'd gone here (about five years ago). One noticeable difference was that it no longer has McDonald's, but Subway instead. That's something different. I stopped to have a sandwich at Subway. I had to use the bathroom at Walmart, the only part I found a bit dirty. Otherwise, the store seemed clean. I had an OK experience today. Will not rule out ever going back. read more

Over the last several years I have done business with their auto shop. This automotive garage is truly broken. No leadership,digruntled staff,painfully and I mean painfully slow service. They really don't want customers to support their business. I have had to reluctantly revisit that shop and each time it is worse and worse. 25 minutes plus to get a refund on a battery core this last time . I really would like to support local businesses but the auto shop in the back of the store is probably one of the worst run entities I have ever seen. I feel bad for any future customers or employees that have to experience this cluster. This is indeed a lack of mid level management failing to do their job! Wake up Wally World management you are dieing here. I now will pay a little more to get a more positive customer experience moving forward. STAY AWAY!!!! read more

This place is broken. 5(!) employees were asked politely if they could help find an item, 4 responded 'what do you want?!' The other responded 'what for?!' (Because I want to buy it you freakin nimrod). None knew where to look for it; none had access to the computer to do an item check (the guy who knows how is on break, sometimes he goes home or goes to sleep in his car and no one knows when he will be back). A manager was overhead paged twice, no answer in 30 minutes. I think I'll encourage the tweaker in aisle 4 to take a crap on the floor. read more
