I have not been to Grocery Outlet. This review is for Walmart. They have a great selection at a good price. The store is well laid out making it easy for me to get what I want. The staff is helpful and friendly. Only Costco is equal and they lack the small size of items that are better for me. read more

We love this Grocery Outlet! Located in Prunedale, this store has most everything we need on a weekly basis and have found it much cheaper to do our basic grocery shopping here. The store is well maintained, workers are friendly, helpful and they have a great selection of discounted products. I've found a lot of variation in how different Grocery Outlets are run and we feel fortunate the owner does a great job here. read more

Been shopping here weekly, sometimes biweekly, since it opened. Very nice experience here, nice people and great selection. Never know what you find here or what may be priced for an extreme bargain. You find really weird food items that may be curious to try, odd ice cream brands and flavors you'd never see at Safeway or Trader Joe's - sometimes it'll be meh (sleeping aid ice cream that tastes like garlic) and sometimes it'll be incredible (fatboy cookie & cream). Sometimes these odd items will be the best thing you've ever tasted and you'll come back and clear out their inventory. (at least, me) Overall, the fact that selection changes often is why I love this place and come back often. I only go to Safeway for their awesome parfaits and fresh pineapple now, but Grocery Outlet more fun than grocery shopping should be allowed to be. read more

Not really sure I understand the lower rating at this location but my experience was similar to the others I have visited. As always found a couple items I wanted/needed and saved a bit of money at the same time. Just one odd note. Most of the stores have a similar layout. Not sure why this one was different but as you enter, if you head in straight and make the first right you get herded into an aisle that is a dead end. Again, not sure I understand their intent but ultimately the store was as helpful as the others I have visited. read more

Went here with my parents today to get a few things. Great prices and unique food always. But you have to check expiration dates on perishables. the reason for the low review is because of what my mom saw. A man had a bag of baking soda and opened it up. He then stuck his finger in his mouth and then proceeded to stick it in the bag. Then he got some of the baking soda on his mouth. He then placed it back on the shelf in the makeup section. He saw her watching him so walked away. But that is so gross!!!!!!! And that bag is now not sellable. What a waste!!!!!!! My mom did not say anything to the employees but I would have! That guy should have been required to pay for it! Incidents like this are disgusting and ruin a store. I have been to stores where I see opened packages and it is saddening. A note to staff: check out the security camera and if you can recognize him when he comes back in the store. Have security follow him in the store and make sure he does not do that again. Better yet, perhaps the employees should be more aware of these customers who are behaving badly. These customers should be required to pay for the items they damaged or be told they can never come back into the store. A note to all the rest of us customers: make sure that any of your purchases have not been tampered with by these scummy customers who should know better. Make sure your food products are still factory sealed and were never tampered with. And definitely, if you see someone opening packages, tell an employee. They have Been so great! Yes the have prices that are unbelievable.. thru Covid they were life savers.. the fruit and vegetables were so inexpensive..fresh and readily to eat. The other items were as great as.. when you look at their wines are so amazing.. you get to have different and do different wines at a price y can afford... they have low cost wines and then wineries that produce such taste , and what they do with grapes is so magical.. In north California we have so many different wines made with love .. Griicery Outlets give the other stores a run when it matters in their wine section I would go for the price but it's for local wines that have great prices and when you pul the cork out of the bottle , smell the cork , pour it in to a wine glsss and se the sean that you see and finally the sip of the wine as it passes over your young , your so glad you got to share the experience of California wines.. it's a gift of love that a wine maker took years of experience and bottled just for you to in joy ... yes I worked in a wine store in my youth .. just 21 but likewise U learned that wine is a gift o experience read more

The 5 dozen eggs are much cheaper at Costo. That's a 4 dollar difference! I've come to experience moldy cheese and beef jerky. One time I bought some bananas without checking them and when I unpackaged them there was what seemed to be monkey poop on them. It doesn't get more organic than that. The Marina store seems to be the best priced for the shopper and has better QC. The Salinas store comes in 2nd and the Sand city one in 3rd. read more

The workers are not friendly here. No smiles on their faces. I wanted some salad off the shelf and the worker did not want to move so I can get it. Great Grocery Outlet since the new owners bought it a long while back. Has good items and good prices. The employees are super nice and very helpful. Have never had an issue there. In fact, I had been searching for a specific fruit that the Grocery Outlet in Salinas had and the G.O. here in Prunedale ordered some for me and told me what day I could pick it up. Love Grocery Outlet! After becoming utterly disgusted with the price hike at the Prunedale Safeway we checked out Grocery Outlet and are only kicking ourselves that we didn't do so sooner. We thought it would be low quality types of 'leftovers' but that's not the case at all! We can find most everything we need here, many of the same brands we get from Safeway but at a fraction of the cost. Their selection of organic and vegan foods is impressive (in some respects better than Safeway!!) Yes, it's an outlet store so I always anticipate needing to run to Safeway afterwards to get a few things that I couldn't find here, but since we're saving around $200 A WEEK doing most of our grocery shopping here I don't mind!!! Oh and it's rarely crowded which is a bonus! read more

Cashier very impolite and not accurate. Told me one price and when I gave her the money she said the charge was $1.50 more than she told me. When I asked ab out the change in price, she claimed she never told me the sale price. She charged $1.50 CRV for beer. Problem was, I didn't buy beer. Pricing is wrong, at the shelf is one price and when you pay at the cashier is other price. in conclusion, Bad customer service, expensive price on products, confusion on pricing shelf says something and cashier says tags higer price. some areas are dirty. This review goes out Grenada S, as I was showing with my elderly parents for groceries my dad by mistake put 2 packs of bananas. As I asked her to please remove one she seemed as like we bothered her. Also, veggies where rung up at incorrect price and she started arguing with me about the price. Who does that? I went in quickly for beer. Small but quality selection. Store is clean. No lines at check out. Check out clerk was friendly. I think it's awful people are bashing this place. It's brand new there are going to be some issues getting set up. Clearly one of the reviewers is whacked out blaming someone for being racist when they are having a dispute over bananas. I feel like they're scamming people. And this is advertisement fraud. I went to that Grocery Outlet in Prunedale California and there was a box of individual can teas marked two for a dollar. I asked a worker that was stacking items if the boxes were two for $1. He said yes. I went to the register the girls scan the box and it scanned for $0.50. But since I asked her how much the prices she immediately called the manager. The manager checked on the price. And another worker named Kim came up and told me the boxes were supposed to be opened and each can of tea were two for a dollar. She asked me if I wanted to buy an individual can two for $1. I replied no and she took the boxes out of my car. I'm angry and I feel cheated. I'm never going back to that store ever again. I go to two other grocery outlets and I've never had this problem. If the item is marked two for a dollar and it scans for 50 Cent I don't see why they took the items out of my cart. read more
