My husband goes there every week, I go once in awhile. We would like to do pickup but there are always items they don't have any & I don't want them to pick substitutes. I always wonder, why do they have the items on there if they never have them? I know because I have never seen these items over there. I think they have improved some, whenever we can't find something, a worker helps us find it & will even walk us to where the item is. I do wish they would have the prices on the shelves. The right prices! The cashiers still stand around & talk, but the ones who come & check you out are usually nice. Not long ago, we had bought some cashews in a can, a name brand, & they were moldy!! Gross!! Of course the manager wan't there, he never is. Some guy came and said he was some kind of manager, he wasn't very nice. I'd give them 0 stars if I could. They half the time don't have items they say are in stock pay for delivery only to have essential items not fulfilled. But it is particularly lovely when they leave sit in the parking lot indefinitely because they have some sort of security issue and can't fulfill the order. Why do they leave you check in? I'm a huge fan of Walmart for my grocery shopping except in their liquor department. EVERY TIME, I need to make a purchase, I push the call button, because everything is locked up, and then I wait....and I wait....and I wait....aaaannnddd I wait...9 times out of ten, no one shows up. You've got to give Walmart some credit for trying to provide customers with a truly one stop shopping option in small towns all across America. This Walmart carries everything you'd expect to see in a standard Walmart: groceries, clothing, shoes, health & beauty, toys, housewares, lawn & garden, automotive supplies, and sporting goods. It also provides just a little bit more: a full service bank & ATM, a nail salon, a beauty salon, a vision center with an optometrist, a portrait studio, and a Subway Sandwich shop. We dropped in to pick up a few groceries and some cushions for the patio furniture and left with two shopping carts full of can't-live-without goodies. And we only had to park the car once. I had an emergency where I had to show up somewhere this morning at 8am with a money order, so I called this Walmart last night asking what time their Money Services department would be open in the morning. The guy I spoke to told me clearly that they opened at 7am and that I could always get helped at customer service if need be. I thought that was perfect, so I showed up at 7am only to be told that Money Services doesn't open until 8am and that customer service can't help me until then. This Wal-Mart needs security. We are talking armed security the area of loves park is dangerous and within close proximity to Rockford anything can happen it makes me feel unsafe. Long lines, old technology. The best thing about this Wal-Mart is the deli, the receipt scanners are annoying as hell. I don't need to steal I work for a living and that type of stuff makes people not want to return. You have a security team so watch the cameras to catch thrives and maybe have some more patrol the floor. I came in from Washington State and had forgotten we ran out of baby diapers so I decided to make a quick emergency trip to this Walmart. I had arrived at the front door at 10:45PM and the doors were already locked. I signaled to the receipt checker who was still there to open the door but he looked away. On my way back to my car I ran into a associate who was walking towards the doors, I asked if he could let me in to purchase one item he said "no we're closed" I tried explaining that my baby is completely out of diapers and that we're out of state and have no friends or family here that would have diapers on hand but he had interrupted me and said "I don't care we're closed" I insisted to ask him to please let me buy diapers for my baby then he had the nerve to tell me that he didn't care about my baby and suggested using a trash bag with a towel inside as a diaper to hold us over till morning. read more

Today was my final trip to Walmart. Went to pick up 5 items. Only one item was in stock. I had previously made 5 trips to pick up one product that the website said was in stock - guess again - None in stock. This seems to be the standard practice for this store as this has happened too many times on different products. Also, I saw a lady purchasing a head of cauliflower for $2.48 when she could have purchased it for .79 cents elsewhere. I then checked on Walmart.com for one of my items which it listed as $2.58 for the product but also required $4.01 for shipping! This too seems to be their standard operating procedure. Never buy a YOGA MAT from Walmart!! (I believe it was the Gold's Gym brand, but I could be wrong, it was in that section though) My wife thought she'd go ahead and get a new yoga mat while we were shopping around the other day... I didnt think much of it. But I could smell it from the trunk on the ride home... and when we brought it in the house I knew something wasn't right. I looked at the packaging around the mat, and saw a WARNING label that said some thing along the lines of: This product contains at least 3 chemical substances that have been recognized by the state of California to cause cancer and other fatal diseases... yada yada Now tell me why any one would sell any product with such chemicals in it? Why does ONLY the state of CA have the guts to recognize this? And why would some one want to use a yoga mat that is going to cause brain damage and give you cancer.... people usually take up yoga in an aeffort to better themselves and start a healthy habit. Basically, I felt like Walmart just lost any bit of trust I had in the corporation in that moment. Not to mention I will never be purchasing althetic gear from Gold's Gym again. In general, I try to avoid shopping at Walmart. With every low price, you know someone is not getting a fair end of the deal. I'm all about shopping local, and finding FAIR TRADE products. We ended up getting 2 non toxic yoga mats on Amazon, for better prices too. read more

Of the three Walmart stores located in Rockford, IL, this one is the smallest. It is still decorated indoors mostly in the style of bright white paint like those found in the 1980s and 1990s and does not have the more soothing earth tones used in those with newer-decor. The merchandise selection is smaller than others due the tiny store size, yet they still cram in many of the things that you like/dislike about the Walmart shopping experience. Parking is sometimes tight in the lot, and the typical out-shops found at the "typical" Walmart are not here due to the tiny plot of land where the store is located, but fear not(?), many of them are within a close driving distance. The staff is the usual level of friendlyness/knowledge/help/etc. as found everywhere. read more

I brought a prescription to the pharmacy and was told I could wait 25 minutes, so I did. I sat where the guy could see me, and I went to him after 25 minutes. He said he was sorry, the pharmacist said I had to wait one more day/requirement. They let me sit 25 minutes while the pharmacist made this decision within a couple minutes by his admission. I let it go, and asked for my prescription back. He assured me if I returned at 9 A.M., the next morning, he would have it waiting for me, so I agreed and left the prescription there. The next afternoon I asked my wife if she would pick it up, so despite not feeling well she drove 4 miles to the store. They refused to give it her, saying I had to wait one more day/requirement. They mislead me twice at this point, I sat for 25 minutes, then my wife drove there, so I called and spoke to the manager. He claimed I had to wait another day by law, yet Walgreens told me they would fill it that day but didn't have it in stock. The walmart manager therefore is saying that Walgreens is breaking a federal law. My argument was this; since they messed me up twice, and since they're saying they would fill it 12 hours later( the next morning ), then why wouldn't common sense tell them to give my wife the medicine instead of returning again? The manager began changing the subject, saying things like we don't want to develop a pattern of giving medicine too early and other things. He was rude, cut me off numerous times, and I couldn't understand his English at times but he refused to stop rambling. I asked why he's talking about developing a pattern when I'm asking for this only once and only due to their mistake. He alluded to federal law, but then hedged on that back and forth. I said you're not being honest because I know that Walgreens wouldn't be breaking federal law, he responded that he doesn't care about Walgreens and he mocked me saying I must be an attorney since I know the law. I said it's common sense that Walgreens isn't routinely breaking federal law, and it's also common sense that if he gave my wife the medicine one day early to make up for making us come there for nothing, that he could have given her the medicine and nobody is going to jail. The truth is today or tomorrow doesn't hurt me, I still have a few pills left from last month. The issue is they can't run the pharmacy without screwing up time and time again, then they're rude and argumentative when asked to use common sense. Nobody's going to any jail for a one day early refill, and he lied about it being a federal law because I know damn well Walgreens isn't routinely breaking federal law. Common sense isn't required to be a manager, never has been. read more

I have been disappointed just about every time I walk in to Walmart. The store always looks dirty, shelves are never fully stocked in all departments, and employees are never around when you need help. Several of the employees don't always look professional and clean either. read more
