May 31, 2026 Walmart Management, I am writing to formally lodge an urgent and furious complaint regarding a distressing incident that occurred at your store #1490 on [May 31, 2026]. I was detained by one hostile store security person, one descent person, yet still it was under false accusations of theft, a humiliating experience that has left me deeply shaken. I visited your store to purchase a patio television, as I am currently recovering from surgery and needed an activity to occupy my time. Due to a lack of employee assistance in the electronics department, I had to locate the TV myself.  After gathering the necessary items, I proceeded to the self-checkout to pay for my purchases, as it was conveniently located near where I had parked my car. When I encountered a security tag on the television, a store employee assisted by removing it and helped complete the transaction. During the check out process,  a technical error occurred and the staff helped with the glitch. Once the other staff and I got the security rope off of the tv there was another error showing on the computer.  I started to get my payment method out, my payment process using a Walmart One Card, a technical error occurred. That employee quickly stepped in, swiped their badge, and completed the purchase for my merchandise. I never touched my card out approved the purchase even though I was in the self check out, the staff member did it all.  I was then nibly walking out and was stopped without cause in my mind,  falsely accused of not paying for the television and detained as I attempted to leave the store. Mind you,  the cashiers rang me out, the door people didn't look at my receipt but two men are coming up me seeing that I'm too go into an office,  into a little office with them.. I demand an immediate investigation and retraining into this matter, appropriate disciplinary action for the security of "profiles" , against the involved employees who didn't check the receipt as a fail safe and a formal apology for the humiliation and distress caused to me. You don't know what traumas people have been through. You can't approach anymore with a militant attitude and no humility. The short Hispanic security man asserted to me,  "he actually said to me,  had you given me your ID and cone to the office when I said,  I would've asked you to purchase it".   If this is the best in show of Walmarts , asset protection, representing your brand,  you have  a poor, subpar, meager man not able to handle the task of teamwork.  There was no common good her today. read more

I was in Walmart tonight between 7 and 8 p. m. The store looked like a tornado hit it. There were two jars of pasta sauce broken open on the floor with glass all around and loaves of bread in the aisle. In addition, someone had opened a loaf of bread and left it on the shelf. In the refrigerated section in the back where they display biscuits, cinnamon rolls, etc., someone had opened something, and it was smeared in the coils. There was a horrible smell back there as well by the bacon (which is always a total mess). They never have any 85/15 ground beef just 80/20 or 93% lean. The frozen pizza section was messed up and lacking choices. Choices seem to be diminishing on many items. This store clearly needs new management. Years ago, this Walmart was nice. I don't really want to shop there anymore, but I like the prices compared to other grocery stores. read more

If I could do a zero I would. Went to buy a item that was less money on walmart.com sold and shipped by walmart. Talked to 2 employees they had no idea what price match was. I asked for a manager to help me. First manager came abs said no i our store its more so I can change the price. I said that is what price match is. I asked for Manager above him to help me. That manager came out and him and the first manager huddled together with employee that did not know what price match was. They all were talking and looking at me, then finally came to me and said the same thing. Same product sold and shipped by walmart, but different price at our store so I can not change the price. The security accused my husband of stealing cause he went to meet me at the eyebrow place. A security guard approached us and didn't want to hear outside just accused us of stealing. One of the security guards said he is state certified and will shoot. They disrespected us. They stereotyped us. People were pulling out there phones to video what was going on. The auto service manager, Michael at the Walmart in Rockford on Walton is a hidden gem! He is VERY knowledgeable of products, services, compliances, etc. It also looks as if he runs a pretty tight-ship by taking notice of all that's going on in the department. Came in to do either a simple return/exchange for a battery charger, girl at the counter called for supervisor "Bryan" who proceeded to ask me if there were batteries, without thinking because most business understand stuff gets lost especially everyday thing like batteries. So I told him no and Bryan proceeds to pull out 3 phones to look for the product to tell it came with them and they can't return it, ok whatever. I proceed to say is disbelief "over some f*king batteries?, that's stupid as shit man" My comments weren't OBVIOUSLY directed AT HIM BUT THE SITUATION. After 2/3 cuss words he proceeds to tell me if I don't like it I can leave or have loss prevention take me out. So because Bryan lost his composure over words I decided to become disrespectful right back and ask for a manager. Don't care about the return but the fact your team lead/supervisor can't deescalate a situation and threatens to kick out customers who don't understand your "credit" return policy. Happily went to Target after leaving and calling Customer Services. Maybe train employees to handle situations better and actually keep their composer. Then explain to them the policy instead of just spewing it out like I know it to a T and work there. Never coming back to this Walmart again, always an issue here and honestly it's ridiculous corporate doesn't step in at this location. Absolutely horrible. read more

I walk into WalMart Rockford at 940pm on Saturday 5/22/21. There are NO CASHIERS OPEN and the Scan & Go line has 20-25 people waiting in line. I ask the acting manager why there are no cashier's open, and her excuse was, short staffed, people called in. BS !!! I said you just have 25 people working here right now. Customer Service at Walmart is non-existent normally, and the people there don't know their arse from a hole in the ground. But no cashier's is ridiculous. Do not order from Walmart website to have your order sent to your home!! I did this and was told my package would arrive on a certain date. Waited until 8pm and still no package. Called customer care on the website & was told my package would be delivered at 10pm. So I waited until approximately 9:50 pm and still no package. Called customer care on the website again and was now told that my package would not arrive until tomorrow by the end of the day smh. This Wal-Mart is clean, very efficient the addition of more self checks is mice it means lower lines, And less waits. They clearly addressed a few complaints, And that's awesome. Prices are affordable enough and you don't get mugged for a receipt on the way out like at the other walmarts, lol. Also they have security. Had to stand around for 10 minutes waiting for a 21 year old cashier. Gave up and went to a different checkstand. Then when I tried to leave found out the night manager had locked one set of doors early, and even though he was standing there with the keys he made me walk all the way across the store to the other exit and then all the way back to my car, the length of the supercenter. It's your typical Walmart super store with everything it. This location has a burger King inside. I rushed in to get a few items but did not have any trouble getting in and out of the place. The place look pretty clean for the most part and the self check was still available so I used that instead of waiting for the long cashier line. You can't expect much from Wal-Mart -- it's a given that they're sourcing subpar materials from around the world, and minimum wage doesn't attract the quality employees. There are 3 Wal-Marts in town, and this one seems to be the best taken-care-of in town, so if you can't depend on this one to meet your expectations, then don't bother going to the 2 others. We recently picked up a memory foam mattress pad from the store, and when we got it home we found that someone had previously bought the item, replaced the item with some used upholstery foam, sealed the box back up, and then returned the item. I'd leave zero stars if I could. Called ahead to see if we could car camp here. Was told we were allowed. Got there and security tried to make us leave so we went in to ask the manager. Not only was she incredibly rude when telling us we weren't allowed to park, but could not care less about our situation. This store has the most employees that spend a good deal of time avoiding work. One set of 3 women were talking about what clothes they were going to wear out on the weekend. Another group were talking and bashing customers when they walked by. Don't bother asking questions were you can find a certain item because they have no clue. Obviously the daily shift meetings are not happening at this store. Nor is proper training At this store they have people checking your receipts and your bags. When I didn't want to show mine I was told that it is required. Only one if the three exits had a person on the doors to do this and then they were not consistant. I watched before I checked out and they do not target elderly . Some they check the receipt and the contents of the bags and some only the receipt. Maybe they should hire baggers and someone to escort you out from the checkout to the door. Remember there are cameras everywhere to witness if someone grabs something or doesn't scan something. They have people that sit at monitors and watch the cameras. They have self checkouts to decrease their overhead. Sam Walton would not be proud of this. read more

Love love love your shop online program. I have ordered online and picked up from your store 5 times now and I have another order started you guys ROCK!!!!!! Your staff is so great when they bring my groceries out. They will even chat a bit if they aren't busy. They are wonderful. This place employee's liars, thieves, and people who don't deserve to breathe the same air as decent human beings do. Do not waste your time and money going to this store...it's run by people who act more like slave laborers than managers who are supposed to have their worker's back, especially if there's seniority involved, bathrooms are constantly dirty cause of ignorant slobs who use them as their personal space. The workers are easily overwhelmed when there's a rush and instead of stepping up and actually helping the people that they themselves hired, they tend to hide in their little offices and push papers around and act as if they are doing something important, when in reality they are despised by their employees and are only in that building for that check. Disorganized merchandise always lays scattered around in a cluster mess. People often complain about customer service when in reality it's the people in charge of them that are souless and act as if they don't care, so the employee's imitate that perspective and it reflect's poorly in everything they all do. After I showed the very accusatory employee that I had scanned it, she didn't offer any kind of apology for being snotty or in the wrong, just had an attitude because I proved her wrong. Most of us go into a Walmart knowing full well not to expect stellar customer service. This particular Walmart is not the exception. Let's stop at the paint dept first. I once bought a small can of paint to use for an accent wall. All was fine and dandy until I got to the self check out... The paint can was not tapped down well enough and paint dumped all over the register and my hand. YIPPEE... I had to take my son to his afternoon preschool class looking like I forgot to wash my hands after using the bathroom!(or better yet I USED my hands to wipe) Next stop on the list of departments NOT to visit... THE DELI!! If you should happen to want a nice turkey sandwich for lunch, it may not be until next week before they are ready to slice it for you. Seriously EVERY. TIME. I've tried to get lunch meat one poor soul is helping at the counter and 2-3 extremely slow people are playing with the fried foods. God forbid they come over and help someone. I've only complained to a manager ONCE in my life and it was over the women ignoring customers and playing with fried chicken. The asst. manager had to come back behind the counter to get someone to help out the customers that had been waiting 20+ mins and those 2 ladies STILL played with the chicken! I don't even think I got an apology. The management is a joke to say the least. Of course, I'll still go back to this Wally World but to the paint or Deli dept... FORGET ABOUT IT! I have been going to this Walmart exclusively since moving to the Cherry Valley area. Tonight was the last night 100%. The idiot they sent to check my ID was apparently completely illiterate, asked me if I had another form of ID. My DOB was completely readable on my DL. Which I pointed out to him, however even with his glasses on he could not read it. I was forced to go to the Fast Mart across the street, who then scanned my license and sold me beer absolutely no problem. I have been there twice in the last couple weeks and have been very disappointed with the condition of the store. It is messy and very dirty. I especially don't like grocery stores to be messy (dirty floors) - because if the public side is dirty - what does that mean behind the scenes? The management has obviously let things go at this store and it definitely is not up to the usual standards of other Walmart store. Hopefully things change as this is a very busy store and frankly is an embarassment to Rockford when out of towners visit the local store. read more
