We used to love Costco. It was always a fun shopping excursion and lots of good deals and just the joy of going to Costco sometimes grabbing a slice of pizza or a hotdog. Now Costco staff are acting like psychos. We have the highest membership you can purchase there and they only allow two people on the account so I put My Husband on and my daughter as she is in college. I paid for the membership, but they have gone so far as to not even allow me to pay for my purchases. My daughter or husband have to purchase, I can't swipe my card to pay. We now have a Sam's Club membership and I loathe Walmart but they don't pull this BS So when this membership ends we will be done. read more

Good spot! What you'd expect from a Costco. Pay a membership fee and reap the rewards if you're looking to buy almost anything in bulk. Personally, I'm an organic food shopper, and I like that they carry a lot of organic and grass fed options for vegetables, fruit, meat and all sorts of food. They also offer the most random items imaginable like ps5s and seasonal items like Christmas trees and decorations. In addition, they have a gas station outside with cheap gas. The only downsides to me are that there are some things I don't like to buy in bulk, so that makes me have to shop elsewhere every time I come here. Not the most convenient. Also the store is massive, so it's overwhelming and takes longer to shop than it should if it's your first time (like mine was today). But I'll forgive them because they had so many nice people giving us yummy food samples. This place won't be for everyone but is a nice addition to the area! read more

***UPDATE*** After not taking the brush offs from regional, local, and corporate.... I called three days in a row and left messages at corporate. Laura returned my call and took my concerns seriously. She took down date, times, information, contacted the Loves Park GM and reviewed all activity surrounding our time at the store and gas station. No suspicious behavior. Which I'm still stumped, but at least they investigated to make sure this wasn't a bigger issue impacting others! That's all I wanted. ***CAUTION*** Be aware of your card purchases at this location! My husband and I have a dedicated CC we ONLY use at Costco (as it's our only Visa). Sometime between the first of the year and two days ago, BOTH OF OUR CARDS were compromised and charged for vacations in Galveston, TX. I tried calling Regional Costco, Costco Corporate, and I went into the Service Desk in Love's Park. NONE OF THEM CARED. NOT A SINGLE ONE. We are fine, we caught it as soon as it went pending so the transactions never posted. But, other people might not be as fortunate! And if you use your debit card there, well, you risk your bank account being drained and your bills not getting paid. It's DISGUSTING that Costco didn't give one rats tail about this. I'm questioning my membership moving forward. Until then, I'll pay with cash only and get gas elsewhere. I value the life I've worked hard to build and my personal data. You should too! read more

Absolutely superb assistance at the front desk. Thank you, thank you. A geriatric friend and I (rollator user) needed to pick up softener salt -- five bags each. Costco already has heavier bags than grocery stores. (Better bargain.) We would not have been able to safely lift them. Staff took care of it, helped us through checkout, then loaded the minivan. There is no way we would have been able to do this without assistance. My water softener is almost out. So, picking up the salt (somehow, some way) was urgent. Friend and I were able to complete the rest of our shopping (as much as we could tolerate) without issues. Just a delightful shopping experience thanks to the Costco staff assistance. my friends and I were traveling back home from Wisconsin to Nashville We went Costco to get gasoline and look at computers since mine was just stolen out of the car. The first person I ran into was Chey! what a delightful person he was. We looked at computers and decided I should wait till I got home. But I would have bought one because of of him from your store. Yes how can you go wrong coming to shop at Costco Although I realized that many food items have VERY short life spans for instance I got very tiny cucumber they got bad in the same week I got them Many food is like you need to eat real fast it will spoil soon Too many items have had the same issue at the long run is waste of my money because I can. WOW what a price difference @ Costco Gas in Loves Park, Winnebago County, IL. 07/17/21 I went up to help my brother in law & his family. They were on there way to MN when their car broke down in Beloit, WI. I went up to pick them up and return to Chicago but I needed to gas up for my return trip. My go to is almost always Costco as their gas prices tend to be much lower than the other gas stations in the immediate area. Much to my surprise I found a Costco Gas in Loves Park 15.5 miles south of Beloit on my return to Chicago. The gas was $0.38/gallon less then Costco Gas in Niles, my normal go to in Crook County. Too bad it's not too conveniently located as it's 90 miles away from where I live. The gas here seas $295.9/gallon , Niles was $333.9/gallon. Hardly worth driving out there from Chicago to save $0.38/gallon but if you're in the area it's worth gassing up there. read more

This is a larger size Costco. I've been to several and this one seems to have more square footage. I like the way the store's departments are laid out, and most of the stock is abundant (I've been to some that are not so well stocked). Anyway, the store is clean and there is plenty of parking. We went on a Saturday, so most of the time parking is at a premium. Floors are swept, shelves are very well stocked, and the bathrooms are clean. You can tell this location is very well managed. Definitely in the top five for Costco's that I've been to. read more

Woke staff. I still shop here because they have the only bulk game in town. They used to not move things so much now it's all the time. Half the staff is rude . They have this theft prevention guy that sticks out like a sore thumb. Once you realize who he is you can't not notice his lack of motivation. We stopped off at this Costco on our way home from a vacation. We wanted to Check it out. It is about an hr and 20 minutes away and in a neighboring state. This place is HUGE!' I think the Costco we usually shop at that is 25 minutes from home could fit inside this Costco. My husband checked out the tv's because the selection was limited back home. He said they had a way bigger selection here. If we weren't already loaded up from traveling and had just enough room to shove a bag of salad here and a bag of avacados there in the car we would have considered purchasing one. But, I would not say that we wouldn't drive the extra 2 hrs round trip to come back. Because of how huge the store is and the time constraint-we had already been driving 5 hrs.-I didn't get to Check out the whole store like I would like to. There were both customers and workers that were not wearing masks despite signs posted. None of the workers were enforcing any of the social distancing or the masks. It's a complete disaster in there. There was a kid on his phone playing games on a couch with his mask just under his chin and the workers walk pass him saying nothing. By the one of the counters by the exit one of workers is talking to the customer inches away from them with their mask off. They didn't start putting it back on until I stared at him for a bit. And as I'm about to leave it's crowded by exit, but the workers there are insisting I walk even though we are supposed to be social distancing. I told the incompetent lady that's not at least 6 feet. Clearly the training here is quite poor. Customer safety is definitely not a priority here. It's what you'd expect from a Walmart. read more

First time ever at a Costco and I was SHOOK! I literally spend over $50 the second I walked in the door! So many great stuff and great deals! I love that they have brand name clothing stuff from nike to sperry to car hart! The samples were amaaaazing - literally every corner had a little sample booth which who does not love that?! They have a whole bakery, a food court, a pharmacy, a hearing aids place, optometry - it is a one stop shop! Ended up leaving spending more than I should but who could resist?! read more

The lost provention person is hard to miss with all his fancy clothes and shiny jewelry. That day that I came in, I did have a hat and my sunglasses on as I have issues with bright lights. Seems like he singled me out maybe for that reason and followed me throughout the whole store and really made me uncomfortable. I had nothing to hide and planned like I always do to pay for my items in my cart. I got tired of him following me, so I decided to make him feel uncomfortable and followed him around and stood there and looked at him for a while. I think he noticed that and I ended up losing him because he stopped eyeing me for a bit. Other than that experience, the next few times I have walked into the store. He has not followed me, but I have noticed how he just stands around and flirt with the girls specially at the cell phone kiosk again with his fancy clothes and shiny jewelry. So if you ever have an experience of him following, you just follow him and he'll give up or just go up to him and tell him that you don't plan on stealing nothing. LOVE Costco, only reason I have then 4/5 is because I wish they would let us know if something was going to be discontinued or no longer carried there! Shoppers Beware - No Security Cameras On November 2, 2020 at 5pm my wife parked our new car in the parking lot south of the main building just three or four parking stalls down. When she returned to the car an hour later someone had stolen the hubcaps on the right side of the car. I called Costco and asked if they had security cameras that cover the parking lot like Meijer or Walmart. They said no and the only security cameras are at the gas pumps and by the mechanics work area. The hubcaps will cost $221 to be replaced and we'll have to pay that ourselves as our insurance deductible is $500. It was an expensive lesson to learn. At this point we're more concerned about the personal safety for those shopping, especially at night, since Costco has no security cameras covering the parking lot. A word to the wise, be situationally aware of your surroundings and environment. A purse theft or worse takes a very short period of time in a public parking lot and the police can't be everywhere all the time. read more

What can I say it's Costco. I always find what I need plus more. If you go on a Saturday expect long lines but they move fast. Costco gas is usually the cheapest in town. My kids love the food from the food court. If you go into a return they have been helpful and quick. We buy everything we need for a pool from there as well as items for large gatherings and our regular family day-to-day living. read more

I came to Costco for an instacart order I had received and the app gives the shoppers membership number to show workers since I don't have one. Getting in the store was no problem as the greeter made sure to offer free masks and asked how my day has been. After collecting the order for my run, I got to checkout and was rudely told by our cashier, Jennifer A, that I need a barcode on my phone to even be present in the store and the customers provided membership code/number wasn't able to be taken. after I tried to explain that the order wasn't for myself and I'm practically a middleman in a sense, she asks for help from a behind worker. The lady who came settled the problem almost instantly by telling her to type the membership code I had provided. Afterwards, she still displayed terrible customer service by scanning items and tossing them towards a second worker who was putting the items in the cart. Although I enjoyed the organization of the store, Very bad experience to leave feeling guilty like I did something wrong here read more
