Schedule a alignment for noon on Saturday 5/16/26. Dropped the car off at around 9:30 in the morning. Called the store around 2:40 pm to see the status of the car and was told that they were just getting it on. When I questioned that, the person said that they had alignment rack problems and would call when it was completed. I called back around 5:30 pm since I hadn't heard anything and that person said that it was being worked on. I again explained that my car was there since 9:30 am and had an appointment at noon. His explaination was that there was a lot of cars in for an alignment . I said, again, I had an appointment at noon and it should have not taken this long. He put me on hold and came back and told me that it was finishing up. He again said that there was a lot of people in for alignments, which I again told him that I had an 12:00 appointment and I should have been given that time slot. I told him what the other person said about the rack and he had no idea of it. Got the emailed invoice the next day and it showed that I picket up the car at 5:44 pm but now when I look at the invoice, all it shows it that I dropped off the car at 9:38 and and "Due at 1:00 pm". That tells me that the agliment "should" have taken an hour but I do understand that the techs do run into issues but I was never contacted saying the the alignment rack was down, they were behind or any other reason for my car to get done around 5:30 pm read more

I see that there are some negative reviews. Perhaps that was due to the past management. There is a new manager named Henry, and that is who I dealt with last week when bringing my car in. Kind, courteous, gave us some great deals, any discount he could find available. He even called to keep us up-to-date as to the time the car would be done and ready for pick up. Jessie was my mechanic, and he was outstanding. I have an older car that is irreplaceable. The repairs that they made to my vehicle make it drive like new again. I will definitely be going back in the future, Should I need them. Extremely happy, and money well spent. read more

Terrible shop with condescending employees that don't do their jobs well. They take forever to complete oil changes & basic car care packages, and probably other things too but they never have a tech on duty that can do basic work such as spark plug replacements. This shop will ignore your request for them to replace parts that you specifically ask them to JUST to turn around and patronizingly say that you should make fixing that a "high priority" as if that wasn't half of why you brought in the car to the shop to begin with. You are almost guaranteed to waste your time and money coming to this location (also, do NOT agree to their $120 engine diagnostics), as well as be on the receiving end of jokes in poor taste, and I can't guarantee they won't try to outright scam you. They told me I needed new brakes the appointment before my last but not at my recent which means they either lied before or never looked at the breaks at all during my recent appointment despite a brake check being apart of the services I requested. Will not only never recommend firestone to anyone, but will actively encourage my friends and family to steer clear of this shop. read more

I took my car in for a slow leak in a tire. They get one star because there was an issue with the tires that they found; no fault on their part that it was wearing unevenly. However, they tried to get me to spend $99 for an oil change and $30 for a pressure test on my radiator stating there was no antifreeze or oil in the car. I told the manager that I thought she was full of it. She said I'm sorry you feel that way and HUNG UP ON ME! Well shortly after, she called back to ask that I come in to see what is wrong with my car. Well of course I was going to come in, they had my car. I took my husband with me, which shouldn't have had to happen. The radiator was full, the over flow tank was empty. The oil was at the low end of full, but at an adequate level. My car has a warning light for everything, if we were low on oil or antifreeze it would have told us. We told the man helping us we wouldn't be getting a pressure check and he said he wouldn't either. Maybe they just shouldn't recommend services that customers don't need. The service was disappointing because I have had ok (not great) service in the past. (They changed the wrong tire once, so gave me that one and the correct one free - a screw up on their part but I appreciate free tires). I do need four new tires, but I will not be getting them at Firestone anytime soon. read more

I took my vehicle in to have some brake work done. All was well until I was told the issue was misdiagnosed, so was it the hose or was it the caliper...which probably resulted in me paying more than I needed to...who knows! But the interesting part was as they were finishing up and parked my car in front I noticed it had two wheel covers missing which cover the lugnuts. Instead of telling me they broke them and they wouldn't stay on,they tossed one on the front seat and the other I have no idea what they did with it. If the car wasnt so old I would have raised cane! So I came for a diagnostic ($99) and an oil change ($49). Set up online Saturday mid day for Sunday am. Come in Sunday am. No diagnostic tech works sundays. Ok so be it. Bad customer service for no call to reschedule but reschedule for Monday mid morning. Come in Monday, the tech called off that morning and again no tech. He called off. Again, life happens but call and reschedule. My car was limping in. So Tuesday finally get it in and tell them the noticed issue of a lean engine idle but a couple other things I knew were issues. Example I have a decent coolant leak yet they marked the cooling system fine and other misc stuff. Still. I gave $99 to at least acknowledge there was a problem but bc it wasn't the one I mentioned, they didn't even look. I know bc I asked after and he admitted to it. Half a$$ job off the top. read more

Horrible customer service! I scheduled an appointment with customer service rep over the that went well initially. As soon as I showed up and mentioned what they recommended and the service I wanted they ridiculed customer service and gave a different recommendation. The supposed store manager was loud and the worker seemed annoyed and thought it was strange how the rude they all interacted. I was told it would be ready by noon so I got picked up and never got a call and at that point it was almost 2pm. I called got an attitude and excuses that it had not even been looked at yet. I gave them a piece of my mind at that point and they hung up on me told me to get my car. I called back to get the district manager contact info they refused and hung up again. I called again and they threatened me with the police. I met with an officer at my house that was baffled by it all as I was. They don't treat each other with respect so don't think they will treat you with respect. Go to a local shop where respect given and your business is appreciated instead! read more

I don't write reviews very often. If I could have given them 0 stars I would have. DONT GO TO THIS LOCATION. We took our car in for new tires and brakes on the rear and cleaned the front brakes. It hasn't worked since. Took the car back because it was riding rough. They tell us now some brake hose needs to be replaced at another $300. Then the following week while driving the front wheel area started smoking and car was running rough again. Still staying cool and calm we bring the car back. "We are going to put our best tech on it today". They call us with several things it could be and that we need to check a recall that was issued 7 years ago. Well that recall didn't effect that car. Now they are not willing to do anything come pick up your car. Now a bit angry as the service manager whom I wish I knew her name to call her out had horrendous customer service. We took the car to the Ford dealer and was told that the brake caliper had ceased and because it had been misdiagnosed caused damage to the rotors and brake pads. We then called Firestone and demanded the $300 back as it was unnecessary work they did. They gave some line about a video they watched and they did nothing wrong. Yada yada yada. We then called their district manager as we were done dealing with these people and low and behold he issued a refund for the $300. They should be flipping the bill for $900 misdiagnosis damage that was done to our car. We have been Firestone customers for well over 2 decades. We will never step foot in there again ever. Shame on you Firestone. The Machesney Park Illinois branch needs an overhaul of employees and a review on what customer service is all about. read more

This location is a complete joke. We only went here because they were the only mechanic open on Sunday when our car broke down. We were told their diagnostic tech wouldn't be in until Monday, fine no problem. They open at 7am and it's now rolling toward 10 and no update, I call them and am told that they tech doesn't work on Monday. We're on vacation and are stuck for another day as we had to bring our car to a different mechanic. These guys are super unprofessional and couldn't even call me to let me know that they just planned on letting my car sit there for another day and not communicate! So disappointed, will never use a Firestone for anything ever again. read more

Update- They admired to doing the ball bearings incorrectly and that is why it was making the noise. They fixed it. Then as I pulled out I noticed my steering wheel was turned to the left when I was going straight. I took it else where and they were shocked how far off the alignment was off. Go any where else. Original review - Horrible! Worst experence ever. They kept calling us with things that we should do when all we wanted was tires. Took it else where and they were lying about needing any of the extras. Also called and said our car was done and it was someone else car! Our tires weren't even started. Went there for rear brake replacement. First thing he says is "here for an inspection?" No, just replacement of rear brakes. I had my own parts as I am very particular about what quality parts go in my car. He said they cannot install my parts...what the? The funny thing is that for many years I almost exclusively used Firestone (lake Zurich location) for all my repairs and tires. They WERE fair, honest and did a good job. I'm not sure how this place keeps any business based on their lack of customer service & the fact that they flat out lie to their customers. Made an oil change appointment via phone for 2:00pm on Dec 30. when I dropped off my car, I was told my car would be ready in 1 hour & they would give me a courtesy call to let me know my car was ready. I called at 5:00pm as I never heard from them & was told my car was in the bay being worked on and it would be ready in 1-1.5hrs. When I showed up at 6:30pm I was told my car was never worked on with no explanation, attempt to ractify the situation, or an apology. Every person waiting for their car expressed similar dissatisfaction with service and wait times. This is a great way to lose loyal customers by not honoring their appointments and then lying to them, considering my car was never moved from the spot I parked it in 4.5 hours earlier. read more

I've been in here quite a few times for an oil change since they opened. I just bought a new car in July of last year and I desperately needed new tires so Nicholas gave me some options and I just got some put on. I've been driving all over in Rockford in this rain storm and have not slipped once like I always did with my last set. When I dropped my car off I was told it might be a little over two hours with an alignment and I was out of there in about an hour and a half. Every time I go in there I either work with Nicholas or Pete, the manager. They will tell you what you need and not try to rip you off like every other auto shop. They treat you like family. You have to work with them and make sure they understand the scope of work just like any other place. I have been going to this place for over 2 years now and I have confidence in their work. The guarantee their work as I have had parts replaced under warranty. If they cannot fix the problem you will not be charged like when I had a TPMS sensor replaced and they could not get system to relearn thus removing the charge for the work performed. Work done here included timing belt replacement, a muffler install and all tires and brakes replaced on three vehicles along with alignments for each. read more

Went for appointment to get 4 tires and alignment. They actually brought my car right in so I waited there. Took over 3 hours to complete. Tires should not take over an hour and alignment is usually 30-45 minutes. Apparently they had some cars for Enterprise they were "buttoning up" in the middle of mine. Two of there technicians seemed to be walking around and talking most of the time. One technician left with the guy at the front, in the middle of work be done, to go get energy drinks and cookies. The guy at the front kept calling me "brother" and "boss", not the most professional way to talk to people. After alignment steering wheel is not quite straight and it pulls to the right. They recommended new front struts, but they were changed 10,000 miles ago. read more

This is the only place to go in Machesney. I had been to Tuffy a couple times and been ripped off by them over n over again. I finally figured out they were scam artists and brought my truck here and showed them what tuffy wrote up and they informed me that the parts they wrote down don't even exsist in my truck and then they fixed my issue for MUCH cheaper. They will go out of their way to stand by their work unlike Tuffy. read more
