We come here a lot with our kids and are thankful it is here! A wonderful place to escape the cold of the winter (or heat of the summer) and they have lots of food and activities for kids and families, as well as lots of stores to shop. We love taking our kids here when we need to get out of the house! We always get Kobe's Japanese - yum!!! And the workers are always quick to clean up our tables after we leave. This mall has been around since the 70s. It used to be the hangout when I was a teenager in the 90s. Now, they have random furniture stores that churn constantly. JC Penney is all but done, and who shops at overpriced Macy's? There's a bunch of random local stores that sell crafts, shoes, and other random stuff. The food court is dilapidated. There's always someone getting shot here. This mall can't be profitable. Tilt isn't worth going to. They even have an 18+ requirement due to the fighting. CBL needs to sell this while real estate pricing is high. It's better off as a church or apartments. read more

This mall reminds me of the malls on their way to closing. It wasn't very busy. It had some good stores inside like Snipes, Finish Line, Champs. There is a candy store inside called The Corner Store that had a nice very selection of things to choose from. It had delicious bubble tea , slushies that are absolutely delicious. They have what's called Chicago style popcorn , which is caramel popcorn dust with cheese dust. It was an interesting flavor. We received good service from every store we went in and the value of our purchases were good too. It's a decent food court with pizza and Asian food options. The kids big and small ones enjoyed the trampoline bungee jumping thing. We got decent price shoes and T shirts for a good price and good value from Snipes. read more

HORRIBLE experience today with the store Miniso!!! I asked simply if I could split the payments, put 20$ on my card, and the rest on my credit card. HE CHARGED THE WHOLE AMOUNT!! Taking out all the money in my bank account and I am a student. Instead of apologizing, he told me he couldn't refund it, and told me it was my fault for not using my credit card first. lol I've done this plenty of times, never has happened to me. Being from the Southern Wisconsin area, this mall was our go to. This mall is a decent size and has a variety of fast fashion stores. They do not offer high end fashion. I was sad to see Berger's gone because that was one of my favorite stores to get gifts. There is a new spot called The Tilt. It's where the old Sears used to be. It is a pretty massive gaming space. Think, Chucky Cheese meets Dave and Buster's. It was a great time! read more

I hadn't been to a mall in over 10 years, but I needed a cap fast and didn't want to wait the 2 days from Amazon. I didn't know what to expect, but I had a great shopping experience. First off, the security looked impressive and the mall also looked welcoming and I felt safe. I did have concerns like most people do about "going out" today. Then, the store had a good selection of caps. I tried a few on and found one I liked. It was the same one I saw online for $29- I paid $24! How bout that. Even the price was better. Walked out to the car, parking lot was clean and I didn't see any sketchy looking people around. All and all, GREAT experience. I was surprised, but I'll take it. I grew up going to this mall. I even remember when the radio station was on the lower level. In fact my first job was working at Corn Dog on a Stick on the upper level and having to move into the food court when it opened. They have made a lot of changes over the years, some good, some I don't like. A lot of the stores I used to really like have now moved out of the mall and gone to either other locations or have closed all together. They are bringing in some new ones and have done some renovations to help modernize the mall. The food court has a decent variety of mall stand restaurants. The lay out for the primary building makes it easy to navigate and to locate shops you want to find. There is a wide selection of stores and of course there are always seasonal ones. If you are into mall walking it has a nice upper level that has a good course that you can walk. What I don't like is the district area, In order to go to these shops you have to leave the mall. If the weather is poor, you don't necessarily want to do that, or on the times I've been dragged there with my wife to help her pick out some new clothes, we forget that those stores even exist. They also have a lot of kiosks and stands in the middle of walking areas that makes navigating the mall difficult during it's busier times. It disrupts the flow of traffic. Occasionally they have other shows and events there. (Car shows, sports cards, health fairs, etc) that take up even more space and make it almost impossible to get around if the mall is even slightly busy. Overall it is a good mall, it does what a mall is supposed to do, have a central location for your shopping needs. read more

As a long time local, I have to give my nod to the local mall. This is honest feedback that I think could help the mall. What they are getting right: - Recent renovations have proven to be an improvement as they try to keep up with the times. Areas around Barnes & Noble & JC Penny are proof of that. Sometimes I still see 1981 here, but there is a legitimate effort. - Good use of space and lots in the surrounding area with more room for improvement. Good proximity to other businesses and attractions. Despite recent Rockford "problems", I feel the mall has really taken charge and is an overall good shopping establishment What they are getting wrong: - WAY TOO MANY store vacancies. In the old days the mall was pretty good about covering up vacant store fronts. Now they don't even try and its a terrible look. I know physical stores are losing ground to Amazon, but they need to do more to reduce storefront vacancy. - Restrooms are absolutely TERRIBLE. There is no such thing as an acceptably clean restroom here. It's downright shameful. Coming from a guy.... that's bad. I feel sorry for the women. Bottom line: - I have high hopes for the place. I hope the ownership takes their investment just a seriously or is this place going to wind up like Machesney Park Mall or the Clock Tower. Suggestion: Send a team of scouts to more successful malls across the country to see how it can be applied here. Maybe do a restaurant that is half absorbed into a mall entrance. read more

Typical mall. They have enacted a policy that minors have to be accompanied by an adult due to the recent crime that's happened. This mall is ok for a quick stop but really isn't anything special. If you're looking for a mall with lots of stores and is a bit safer, head out to Woodfield in Schaumburg. It's absolutely worth it. read more

Everything is overpriced and its crowded, usually. I rarely ever go here because its usually a bunch of kids or snotty people because of the Cherryvale area. I also hate the little shops in the center of the mall because they're constantly selling junk and it makes the place look crappy. I would never buy anything from them. I have it a one star because one of those middle lane shoppers from the first floor creeped me out when I was on the second level. He kept looking up and starring at me, which I thought was strange. He then later started harassing me by approaching me and saying I was taking pictures. I told him I wasn't and he eventually left. He then called mall security on me. When mall security came by they said he told them, lied to them, saying I was taking pictures and scareing customers. Pretty ridiculous and unprofessional if you ask me. What else can you expect from a cheap seller? I eventually called Cherryvale's management to complain the guy was harassing me and they wanted to jump to the conclusion I WAS taking pictures even after I explained I wasn't. I told them I wasn't and all they had to say was "sorry and we appreciate you telling us." They never said anything about how they would talk to the guy about it or anything. Obviously this store/mall doesn't care about its customers at all. They just want you in, out and to have your money. I would suggest not wasting your time trying to find a parking spot or money on this mall location. Drive to a mall that cares more about you as a customer. Other Yelpers on here have posted complaining about the same thing. (That they want your money and if you complain they lecture you about policy.) If they cared, they would listen to what the customer has to say. read more

Compared to Chicago, this place isn't even worth mentioning. Compared to Janesville, WI, this place is EVERYTHING. Since moving to Janesville, I have pretty much become an avid online shopper. However, this mall does have a MAC counter inside of the Macy's. So, because of that, I do travel the 30 minutes every once in a while to visit. This mall doesn't have any stores that I would consider exciting or exceptional. It has all your average, "mall stores". There is plenty of parking. We recently relocated from So Cal to Janesville, to be near family. The local mall is very sad and we heard Cherryvale was a nice mall. I spent an hour in the mall and ended up only buying a sweater from Chico's, one of the shops outside the mall. The parking is strangely arranged. Big side lots, then rows connecting the mall to the outside shops. I walked it, almost got run over, so that isn't the best organization for safety. I guess the rating of the mall is all based on peoples previous experiences, because it is NOT a nice mall. They have several low end anchor stores and a few little favorable stores inside, but in general low end merchandise It was a long drive that was a waste of time. Next time we will go North to Madison, yes longer drive, but better quality overall and many more store options. Or even better, a long weekend in Chicago, where the BEST stores are located. read more

Sadly this is your best option for a mall in the Rockford to Janesville stretch of highway. They have all your basic places like Macys, JCP, Sears, Hollister, Abercrombie, Aeorpostle, and other clothing stores. They also have a decent food court although most of the time it looks abandoned. It's your typical mall, where kids come after school and weekends to congregate. They have few good stores like Forever 21, H&M, Champs Sports, Express, Bergners, Macys, etc... the food court has a variety of food for all your tastebuds. This is a boring so-so mall. You see the average run of the mill stores. I like Barnes and noble, but I wish there was a second book store there. Maybe a used book store? Too many clothing stores, nothing special. Macy's is ok, but a bit pricey unless you shop the big sales. There could be better signs telling you where certain stores are. The revamping of the mall made it more visually appealing but the over crowding of the temporary cart vendors makes it too cluttered. I wish they would never allow the lotion or nail people in the mall again .. it seriously is harrassment to try and walk past them. The play area was nice when first opened but now you can tell it is getting worn down. Also parents seem to drop their kids off and go shop ..so you have some ill behaved unattended kids running around most likely wearing shoes even though the sign clearly states no shoes and you must wear socks at all times. But what can you really expect .. it's Rockford and all in all it seems to get worse every year. read more

Anchor stores are Bergners, Macy's, JC Penny's, & Sears. They have the standard mall shops such as Victoria's Secret, Express, The Limited, The Buckle, Ann Taylor, Wet Seal, Aeropastale, H &M among others. It's not too bad of a selection but not the greatest. I think they have done a lot to attract these stores because there was a time when a lot of well known stores were leaving and it was pretty bad. They also have some shops that are just local. I guess I am not a big fan of these locally owned & run shops because most of them are cheap looking & have poor quality & cheap looking things. It just makes the mall seem junky. They don't have a lot of options for shoes with really just the anchor stores & one discount place which is not good. In fact, in Rockford there really aren't a lot of options for shoe shopping in general. We desperately need a DSW. They also took out the escalators in the middle of the mall to put in an elevator. This annoys me so much because I don't want to wait for an elevator which will be full of strollers & kids. I know they need it so I'm glad it's there but I wish they left the escalators in the middle as well. Now you have to go to either end of the mall to use an escalator. There is a set of stairs in the middle of the mall so that is an option to get up & down but not a great one. There is a strip of shops outside in the parking lot which you probably won't go to just to browse & only stop in if it's a shop you like or frequent. Mostly this is because you would want to park near them & there are only 4 rows of parking between them and the mall so it's pretty hard to get a spot. If I parked on the other side of the mall I would never think to walk outside across 4 rows of parking just to see what's over there. There is a salon, Red Mango, Granite City, Talbots & a couple others I have never been to. We are in the Midwest were it gets really cold in the winter. Overall this is what we get in Rockford. I think the next closest mall is Woodfield in Schaumburg which is a little over an hours drive or there is one in Madison, Wi which is over an hour away. There are outlet malls in both Huntley, Il & Aurora Il which are about an hours distance. read more

Far too many adolescents in the mall. They tend to walk several abreast to attempt to force adults out of the way. They usually don't buy anything. The presence of security personnel is minimal. I do wonder why I don't see real police there. The worst store there is Furry Babies which sells overpriced dogs produced at puppy mills. The food court there sells decent food. read more

It's a mall, not much to really write about. They have a good mix of stores, and they should meet most if not all of everyone's needs with maybe the exception being no drug store. They have one of the larger Barnes & Nobles in the suburbs, very close to the size of what you would expect in the city, and the Sears seems to be one of the better. During the holidays, there is a very good mix of carts in the common areas which seems to dwindle greatly come Feb 1. read more

This was a good experience until I got kicked out as I wasn't of age and as if I did something bad. They acted as if I was stupid and what if I had no ride? They should reconsider this immature rule. The mall has GONE TO THE DOGS! There are so may peddlers in kiosks, everywhere you look! Then the Korean low-grade beauty supply stores bring the shopping experience to an all-time low for former cherryvale shoppers. I spend extra in gas and go to woodfield, somewhere I'm PROUD to spend my hard earned money or I shop the outer-mall stores like Chicos & jos a. Banks. Great multi level mall! They have a lot of good stores and a great children's play area! Their food court is good too. Plenty of seating and kept clean by attentive staff. Also has a family bathroom by the food court, on the first level, which is a big plus for people with kids. They have a small pet store, called Furry Babies, that sells puppies that seems to be a big hit and always busy with people stopping by to check out the pups! read more

I was in town shopping today and need a few things so stoped at the mall. I was able to find a parking spot real close to door. The mall was nice and clean. Was not crowded at all. I have been to this mall a few times while visiting my sister. The good points: The food court The actual stores Mall Play Area for the kids The bad points: The parking Some stores that claim they are in the mall are in separate stripes outside the mall (Charming Charlies) The assault by the vendors outside of the mall play area Coming here on a Saturday during the holiday season definitely could have been worse! My husband and I took our two kids, and my niece and nephew here to utilize the playplace in the middle of the mall and do some browsing then to end with some lunch. Overall, it's a nice mall. There's rarely a wait for the elevator (for stroller purposes), there is a wide variety of stores (but I don't like how some are outside the mall) and the food court had a wide variety of food. There wasn't a wait for a table, and we were a group of six. Bonus! I will definitely be back :) read more

A nice little Farmers' Market opened on May 6 and will grow through the summer months. Vendors include specialty cheese, flowers, plants, and soon, fruit and vegetables. The Market is open Thursdays 9am-1pm near the Perryville entrance, going into The District. The tents are right along Perryville, across the street from Menards. read more

Never shop here if you have small children. The stroller rental is in the middle of the mall at the customer desk. Which I was aware of but was not aware that they have no one working the desk until noon. Before noon you have to go to the mall office which is located upstairs by Bergners. I entered on the other side of the mall by Sears because that is where the kids play area is located. I dropped off my two yr old with a family member then lugged my one yo across the mall in search of the stroller rental. When I found the office I was frustrated cause I was still going to have to return downstairs to get the stroller, then back to other side of the mall to collect the rest of my family. When I expressed this frustration with the office staff the assistant manager seemed more concerned with scolding me on the well established customer service policies that had been instated over a year ago than actually hearing my plight. My plight being that I have a 1 yo, a 2 yo and a arthritic 68 yo who I am trying to get settled so we could shop for birthday gifts for another relative. It does not matter how established the customer service policy is, it is a bad policy. Strollers should be easily accessible especially during peak rental times. And for mothers with small children, like myself, the mid morning is when most of my errands are run with kids in tow. In fact I had to help two other families with small children find the office to rent strollers. Both had been wandering the mall carry their heavy kids and large diaper bags. It is a shame that the mall management does not care about the young families who come to shop. As for me, I will never shop here again. read more

CherryVale Mall is our mall in the Rockford area. They have a store in there mall called Furry Babies. Which needs to be shut down. They have been so many negative reviews on Furry Babies and even lawsuits. How can you have a store like this in our community. I will never go to that place again and the management dept should be ashamed that they aren't doing anything bout getting the store out of the mall. Shame on you! read more

The worse Macy's I have ever visited. I am a loyal Macy's customer for years but now I am really reconsidering my loyalty. On Dec. 15, 2015 Macy's had a jewelry sale between 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM. I went to this store and wanted to buy a $1,400.00 necklace for my wife. The young lady at the counter could not tell me if the necklace was silver or white gold or...whatever. She said she was a seasonal and does not know anything about jewelry. I asked for someone else in the department and she said that she is the only one in that department. I asked for a manager and the manager refused to come stating that she will answer my questions over the phone. I was not going to buy a $1,400.00 jewelry with someone may tell me over the phone. I insisted that I see her in person and finally a manager by the name Cynthia showed up telling me that she also does not know anything about the department.
