The employees are always friendly and seem like they don't mind their job. It seems like they are overworked though and not compensated enough for the work load put on them. If I could make a difference with my opinion it would be to tell management how lucky they are to have employees that seem to like their job even though the pay doesn't equal the effort they put out. And no, I am not an employee past or present, I just see the pressure put upon these people and notice they still seem to smile and be friendly to everyone. These people basically put themselves in danger everytime they come to work by the possible exposure to COVID-19, so in my opinion these people should receive not only a bonus but hazard pay. TONS of WSU gear for cheaper than The Bookie or anywhere on WSU campus! Love this Walmart as it's super clean and is a great place to stock up on all of the items my kid needs in her dorm and school. Plus, when I visit and have forgotten something in packing, this store has it!! They hire college kids so it's a different kind of Walmart experience than I'm used to at home. I normally get Walmart food delivery and there's always an issue. This time it was the person that put my order together. they used as many paper bags as possible. A whole bag just for a 5oz bag of shredded cheese. They also put heavy things on top on fragile produce. I once had them put large cans of tomato's on top of my fresh tomato's squishing all of them. they were leaking out of the bag. Also I attempted to review and tip the driver after putting away everything and couldn't. It was only 30min after my order had been delivered and it said my time to tip had run out. Walmart having this just confirms how little they care for their employees. If its not just the issue with delivery its having employees follow you through the store or lurking when your scanning your items at self-checkout. Instead of helping you they assume your stealing when its actually that they rearranged aisles and now your a little confused because everything is backwards. The prices don't even make it worth it. They built the Pullman Walmart in 2012 and started scaling back the original Walmart in Moscow. Put in a new light to make getting into the store easier off bishop boulevard. Prices between the two are generally the same. Main difference is obviously Idaho versus Washington sales tax. More of a fan of the Idaho store but this one always seems bright and much much more inviting. Same layout for each store. Real difference is the staff but both stores have a majority of college students working along with locals. Up a bit on the "hill" but loads of parking all around. A great place to grab food, household items, or to walk around and kill time during finals week. If you can it's better to come up the hill from Zeppoz and park in the back. Avoids the light and some traffic off bishop boulevard. read more

The most expensive Walmart in the United States so far, but I'm sure I'll be in for a surprise once I get to the Seattle area. The prices are just gouging because they are on the same distribution line as many semi normal priced Walmarts. Lot of items here are priced like a Manhattan convenience store. My friend said a camouflage hoodie employee was following her, while I was followed by a guy with a beard and. black hoodie. Sure, it's new and pretty. Sure, it has lots of stuff. However, it is not the great bargain that Walmart claims to be. Their ads claims they will save anyone thousands of dollars a year, no matter where they shop. However, I compared the prices of a number of grocery items to the Safeway across the street, and found that Walmart didn't have lower prices. Some items cost more at Walmart than Safeway, and others were the same price. Not a single one cost less at Walmat. I will admit that I didn't check canned goods, and I'm told those are a particularly good deal at Walmart. I see no need to shop there. Everything they have I can get somewhere else nearby for the same price or less. Also, this place is not pedestrian friendly. It is up on the top of a hill, and it's a long walk up a sidewalk that they don't clear the ice from very well in the winter. read more

I went to Walmart today to have a key made for my van. They had some trouble getting the key cut exactly, they eventually got one for me to try and it didn't work !! on top of that my original key no longer worked after having the duplicate made. They almost sent me away with a refund but one of the managers in sporting goods (pretty sure his name was Ron) anyway Ron goes out back and filed the copy by hand and then came out to the parking lot to make sure it worked. and it did ! I was in to buy food & other items, when I attempted to use my SNAP food assistance, the machine denied me(twice). Manager attempted twice and told me no go, saddly I had to put everything on my, already maxed debit card. I call customer service and was told to bring back my receitp and they will make it right. I have gotten expired food on several occasions and not realized it until I got home. One time I got 4 different kinds of cereal and EACH box had been expired for 3 months. Still ok to eat? Probably... But that's no excuse. I didn't pay for expired food. And when I told them I didn't have my receipt (who keeps cereal receipts??) they refused to give me a refund, only a gift card. And I am not shopping here ever again if I can help it. I also find that they are out of food quite often, like Avocados, which is a staple in my house... When I found out I was moving to Pullman, I was sad to find out there was no Target in the area. However, this gem of a Walmart has been a great substitute. But trust me, I usually hate Walmart. Maybe the first reviewer doesn't understand how grocery stores work. Whatever is on sale at Safeway will almost always be cheaper than Walmart's everyday price, that's how they drag you into the store. But try filling your cart at Safeway and see how it compares to Walmart. The prices here are a bit higher than those I've experienced at other Walmarts. But I'm going to attribute that to the fact that we live an hour and a half from the closest interstate. But what makes it better than other Wally Worlds? It's very clean, the staff is beyond friendly, and I'm yet to encounter many "People of Walmart" that you find at every other location. Worth the trip up the hill. read more

Attempted to return unopened juice boxes, and I was informed by Abi that "food" can only be exchanged for greater than or equal value of other "food" if you do not have a receipt, which I did not. Abi retains the merchandise and I ask her, "Are you sure I'm not going to have issues if I come back and you are not here". Abi says, "No, it will be fine". I do my shopping, including at least $10 of food and return to customer service desk. Abi is busy with another customer. Sherry starts to help us and is very confused about what to do, asking us what we want done? I explain, "Uh, these are my returns, these are my purchases. Apparently you have some policy regarding no returns for food...again this is your policy. Seems rather difficult to me, but it's your policy". They are highly confused about what to do. At this point, an associate named Austin apparently wasn't too busy, but decides to chime in, telling me that "You can't buy those bananas here!". Of course, I have to beg the question, "Why can't I buy them here?". Austin says, "Because we don't have a scale." Sherry is still trying to figure out how to run this transaction, stating we are going to have to do multiple transactions, but I'll still have to buy my bananas from the front. I make a comment pointing out that you asked me to come here in the first place to buy food and I can't buy food here. Austin, again not doing anything except standing their watching, again chimes in to say "Well, this would be a whole lot easier if you just kept your receipts". Definitely rude and unprofessional, but I calmly explained to him I come here probably 5-6 times a week in addition to my wife; illustrating that it would be difficult to carry around gobs of receipts; and then where would we even put them. I rhetorically asked, "Should my wife and I carry them around moving them from car to car?" Austin, says, "Yeah, that would be great" in a smart condescending tone. At this point, Abi had finished the customer she was talking to and it was clear that Austin wasn't being very professional. Abi is physically pulling him away, telling him "Stop, just walk away, just walk away". At this point, two apparent "supervisors" walk up. I haven't asked for any manager yet as it seems Sherry has figured it out. A new person, Jesse walks up and asks for me to explain the situation, instead of consulting with her co-workers. I explain I'm trying to return these items and buy these items. Pretty simple, but it seems your policy and the lack of understanding of your employees has made this a little more difficult than it needs to be. At this point, a 4th person, Emelio feels the need to tell me that I'm being "rude" and he doesn't appreciate me speaking the truth. I can only stare at him in wonder and ask him what I did that he thought was so rude. He didn't have an answer for me. Despite taking my items to customer service, I received no service on this day, but what do you expect from Walmart. Reinforces my strategy of buying as much as possible off Amazon these days. Learning to avoid anything in Pullman as well, as most establishments seem to employ inexperienced, yet extremely arrogant college students. Is this why most people don't live in Pullman? They gave me at least 20 plastic bags when everything could have fit into about 2 or 3 every item had it's own bag this is just sad that this company and it's workers don't care about the environment. I pick up trash for my job and it doesn't help that they are just giving out hundreds of bags to everyone it seems like. I am a fan of Walmart. The reason why I like this location is because the layout is very organized and it is easy to find items around the store. Some of the products sold here are a great deal. Deals are good for basic household items, personal hygiene items and some kitchen items. I got my 8--Qt stock pan here for about $7. I used to do most of my grocery shopping at Walmart. Recently, and not sure if it's due to management change, the stock of produce had gone down--meaning, whenever I went to grocery shop here a few times they were low on produce stocks and what was left were old, wilting produce :( Eventually, I went to shop for grocery somewhere else, where they are always stocked with items I need. I'll still shop at Walmart for other items, certainly if the store can keep their produce in stock consistently, that would help. read more

Biggest complaint...saw a college girl in the cosmetic department, sticking her nasty finger in the makeup foundation bottles and then applying to her nasty wrist to "check the shade" and then put the cap back on....eww! She did that with several other bottles as well... that's disgusting... Never use their "delivery service". My order should have been delivered between 6-7pm. When it didn't I call customer service, they were very nice and said they would waive my delivery fee and get mine groceries delivered the next day by noon. When that didn't happen I called again, they told me my order had been cancelled, but my account showed that it had not been. I call a different customer support line. I was told that my order had not been cancelled and would be delivered soon. A few hours later I got an email saying my order was cancelled. I would not recommend walmart deliver to my worst enemy. I've heard much better things about Dissmores delivery and I will be ordering my groceries from them, once I get my refund. read more

Posting on behalf of my daughter: Bread expires within 2 days, milk curdled days after I bought it (and the expiration date was another week out from now, and my fridge thermometer is accurate). They run out of foods constantly. I have a particular mini pizza that I like and it is never in stock. I finally went to Safeway and all is good now. This is the best Walmart ever. I am from, the Walmarts that I am familiar with are horrible. I dread the day of the week that I go on my weekly Walmart trip. But in Pullman, going to Walmart isn't so bad! When I go, I never see any shady characters. Even when this place is "Busy", its not overflowing with people like many other Walmarts. The shelves and aisles are always neat and clean, things are placed where they belong. Every single time I go here, an employee asks if I need anything! I really appreciate that cause I seem to have a hard time finding what I need all the time lol. I absolutely love the scale of the WSU stuff. There is tons of things to pick from, and they are much more reasonably priced compared to what you can get at the bookie. The Walmart near Seattle does not have a giant section of UW stuff, despite it also being a "Super Center". So I know that this Walmart is pretty awesome for having that. I do have one complaint. The eyelashes in the cosmetics area are always sold out! Ya'll need to keep that stuff in stock! read more

They have the same products as all other stores in the chain, but this Walmart has horrible stocking. 50% of the time I go there, the item I want is out of stock. In addition, you look at the shelves and they are mostly empty. They also don't adjust the product ordering for the location. I'm writing a review about the auntie Anne's inside the Walmart because I can't find it on Yelp. I came in to redeem my birthday gift but the older lady said I couldnt because they didn't have the scanning thing and that I could redeem it over and over again. I proceeded to order a lemonade after that rude comment and the younger cashier said get frozen or liquid, any flavor. I chose the mango flavor and the older lady told the cashier to never ever let the customer choose whatever they want because they'll choose something like mango. Very rude. Lemonade didn't even taste good anymore. Update on the review: I tried to get my flu shot today, pharmacy is absolutely unorganized. I waited 40 minutes and was the only patient. They scrambled trying to figure out paperwork and spent 20 minutes trying to find me a chair. They put me into the "privacy corner" which was really more of a stall than anything else. I was seen by the public while the person giving me the shot was more hidden. She was also very nervous and kept repeating things. I later went to subway, their staff is unbelievably unprofessional and stingy. The girl asked what type of sandwich I wanted but proceeded to speak to her coworkers about their personal lives and failed to hear my sandwich request. The lady in charge of the vegetables literally gave me one olive, one bell pepper, a sprinkle of lettuce. Very irritated with Walmart. Would never come back again if I could. Also, the cashier is lazy. Gave up after two tries of my gift card not working. Said "it's not working idk why". read more

What can I say besides the place is definitely the same as most Walmart Super Center's I have seen before. The service isn't to horrible but as most places I've been to the can definitely use some improvement. If you want to move quickly through things your best bet is to go through the self check and buy alochol later at night if possible because it's easier to find a person to help you and you will get service quicker. There stocking is about what you would expect from a college town but some Ares they could restock quicker such as the dairy section and the furniture section. Overall if you don't have a problem with Walmart elsewhere you should be fine at this location. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE!! Tried to order groceries for delivery because I got tested for Covid and was waiting for the results. I ordered at 10am and the only slot for delivery was 7-8pm. I selected this option and never got my groceries (or medicine I needed) and didn't even receive a call that they'd be late. So I called the following morning at 10am and they said they would get it delivered ASAP. Still no groceries at 6pm. Called again they said they would try and get it out by 7pm or call me. At 7:10pm i had not received a call or groceries. I called to change it to pickup because I could not go any longer without medicine. We waited 30 minutes for them to bring the groceries to the car after calling to check in. Seeing how everyone who got there after has already got their groceries I called again and apparently they failed to check us in even though she said over the phone you are checked in and we will bring out your items shortly. So they re-checked me in after failing to do so the first time. Finally after 45 minutes of waiting I got my groceries at 8:15 pm, when I had ordered them at 10am the PREVIOUS day. Not sure how I'm going to get groceries the rest of the time I am quarantined. Smh read more

Normally don't write reviews for negative experiences, but I feel the need now. I've been going to this Walmart since it opened, and have had fine experiences and nothing out of the ordinary. The last few times I've gone in, I've been followed by what turns out is their loss prevention guy. I'm guessing he is new. The first time it happened, I seriously thought he was just a creepy guy stalking me around the store. Made me super uncomfortable to the point where I was considering reporting it to someone in case he was a predator. If he had kept it up, I would have. The second time, it was pretty obvious what he was, but I was pretty irritated and trying to figure out what I was doing wrong other than being there and accidentally making eye contact. Today, he followed me and my family around the store as we got groceries. Including all the way up to the self check out belts, pretending to look at stuff, pretending to check out, circling that area, making eye contact with me several times. Now, I figure I must have triggered him by making eye contact every time I watched him. Maybe I look shifty since I am ADD when I'm shopping in their newly remodeled store that I can't find anything in? He was very obvious. However, it's insulting, infuriating, uncomfortable, unacceptable to me to feel like I'm going to be followed around when I step foot in that store from now on. It's incredibly insulting to have someone assume you are dumb enough to risk ruining your life by shoplifting. Had I actually done something shifty to trigger him, and it had only happened once, I would understand that he's doing his job. This seemed excessive. He could be A LOT less conspicuous. Bad enough I'm anxious/stressed out shopping with my young children, but to be followed around by a creepy male doesn't exactly make one feel safe or comfortable, let alone feeling like you're being targeted. I read another review online with a similar complaint of him following a guy's wife and daughter around to the point they were scared. If I could give this Walmart zero stars I would. So here's a story, I go to college near here and one of my friends asked me to go with her to buy a fridge for her dorm room and to help her carry it. So I did and we grabbed some groceries and went to check out. We were doing separate transactions and since I am 21 I had grabbed a 6 pack of beer. However my friend is not 21. So as we're checking out the cashier asked for both of our IDs and I said we are separate. He said that since we were in the same party we both have to be 21. So I asked for a manager and asked her that just because we carpooled that I can not buy my beer and she said no I can't sell it to you if you're in the same party. Since I'm a server I look at things a little differently I suppose but if one person in a party orders alcohol I don't have to ID the entire party. That's ludicrous. What if it was a family? "Sorry sir you cannot order a beer since your entire party is not 21. I know you came in with your two toddlers but the entire party has to be 21 for you to order alcohol." That's BS. read more

Called the deli and asked if they had fried chicken, the girl said yes. Went into the deli and there was no fried chicken. They have a menu board saying they sold individual pieces of chicken, tried to order 5 pieces of chicken and was told that I couldn't. I was told they only sold 8 pc. box of chicken. I said that sign should be removed then. I then asked for the 8 pc. chicken box and the guy said it's over there, pointing at the produce section and there & there was noooo chicken! The guy working at the deli was a punk! We gave up on the fried chicken and were heading to the check out to pay for our groceries. My wife noticed some fried chicken in a heating cart by the check out stand. I really didn't want to drive around town looking for fried chicken so we bought it. The chicken looked good until you ate it. It was over cooked and dry and had more batter than chicken. Walmart's fried chicken makes Banquet frozen chicken look like the cat's meow! Does anyone recommend a place around Pullman or Moscow that has good fried chicken or am I better off making it at home? read more
