I live on campus and whenever I need to kill some time I walk down to Palouse treasures. They have an amazing selection, great prices, and the staff are always so kind! I've found some absolute gems and I don't think I've ever left without getting something. If you are a student looking for cookware and utensils, this is your place! It's super cheap and there's a large array of things to choose from. I've gotten chairs for my dorm, a pot, whisks, knives, and a truly absurd amount of clothing. Generally, if you need something weirdly specific for a project, they'll usually have it. This is definitely my favorite place in Pullman to shop! read more

You have the normal Pullman, Moscow, and Palouse residents plus all students and faculty for the universities. The store has a good amount of turnover so each visit is opening a mystery box. Still if you are willing to take some time you can really find some Palouse Treasures. Bad joke I know. No parking lot so you'll have to park on the street right out front. If you are donating you can bring things in the front or round back up the hill. Official donation drop off location where they'll do a tax write off form if requested. Two floors. The bottom floor contains clothes, music, video tapes, and the occasional vase or trinket your Grandmother kept on every table and windowsill. Upstairs mostly furniture but also books, more tapes, cassettes and vinyl records, electronics, space heaters, dishes and silverware and board games. Things in stock rotate regularly but the layout i just described by floor is generally kept. read more

After reading the reviews I thought I would check this place out due to my love for thrift stores. Unfortunately I was sadly disappointed:( Upon entry the first thing that hit me was the smell! Smelled like dirty musty clothes & it was extremely cold inside. I asked the lady at the counter if there were any sales she said "No" & literally turned around and carried on with what she was working on. Alrighty then that's one way to greet new customers ummm not so much!!!! Still I pushed forward only to be further disappointed. The clothing for a thrift store are WAY overpriced and the quality is severely lacking. I still went through the entire downstairs and upstairs. I found a few things but was stopped by the price! Upstairs is the home section which is an absolute nightmare. Things stacked up everywhere no organization on the shelves and absolutely filthy!!!! I used to come here all the time and recommend it to all my friends. It was the best priced thrift shop on the Palouse. About 4 months ago they started raising their prices to where it was literally cheaper to buy lots of their items brand new than to get the used and generally dirty or broken version there. I was rudely told I couldn't go upstairs 10 minutes before closing despite the store and front register being open. In addition, I've received rude and standoffish reception from workers when trying to donate to the store. I'm posting a negative review honestly because I like the store for the most part, but the service is ruining it for me and I'd love to see it improve. read more

This used to be a reasonably priced thrift store, but their prices are getting out of hand, sometimes prices are more than what the items would be new or close to it. That is disappointing to say the least. You can still find some random things they haven't jacked the prices on, but I won't be going there again for a while until they get things priced better. I also find it very disappointing some of the things donated get shipped overseas for more profit, I mean after it is donated I guess it is out of our control, but most people donate to help support the local people and community, I won't be donating there anymore. read more

This is your typical thrift store but with more college friendly items. It's two stories with all of the items spread throughout it so it's difficult to really find anything in particular. I've been here a couple of times and it seems like a tornado had just hit...okay, I know it's a thrift store but it could be kept up a little nicer! Once you can find something in here, it is usually a really good deal! I was able to get some kid books for my future classroom for a quarter a piece! Plus my roomy was able to get a pair of Adidas shorts for only $1.50. I would say to come here when you have plenty of time on your hands! read more

Anything could be found here! Me and my roommate almost got EVERYTHING we need for the new apartment here. Dining table, chairs, dishes, hangers, even the microwave oven. They also have many sofas, mattress and DVD. A must-go place for students new to here. read more

I don't know what you expect out of a thrift store, but this is one of the best in the area. The people who work here are always friendly and they have a lot of really cool outfits. My girlfriend loves to shop there and find clothes that we have donated as well as try on outfits that come in all the time. Going back to the employees, they are one of the only places in the area that are generous towards disabled people and (don't quote me on this) they are a charitable organization that is actually 100% for charity. read more

They could open a little earlier than 10:30am, but otherwise, this thrift shop has a big selection of clothing and everything else you might want to find in such a place. There are two floors of inventory, so make sure you go up the stairs to the top level, too. I had a gently used bed and mattress that I wanted to donate. I set up an appointment with Rick, the guy that picks up beds. We had scheduled an 11am pick-up. He called at 8am that morning to see if he could come by earlier. I could not change the time, and we proceeded with the original pick-up time. However, Palouse Treasures never showed up. They decided the pick-up (which they scheduled) was too late in the day and cancelled. When I called at 11:30am about when the bed would be picked up, Rick said, "I guess I should have called you to let you know we cancelled." The salvation army also picks up beds, the lady I worked with there was very friendly, I would recommend them when donating. read more

I just read about the lady who donated books that never appeared on the floor. The same thing recently happened to me. I donated about 4 sets of twin and a set of queen sheets in Dec. (we'd just sold our lake house, so I had extras) and they never appeared on the floor for sale. I asked about them several weeks later and was told they were sent to their main location to be measured - which I thought was weird since they all had their size tags on them. NOW I now what really happened to them. read more

My 12 yr old son was humiliated by Alice the clerk over a jacket, she kept telling him it was a woman's and he couldn't have it... Than we paid with a clothing voucher and i asked if we Could get a punch on our card and she stayed"you got all this free" when I got upset over what she said, she said i needed to apologise to her and she would make sure i never go it another voucher,i asked to speak with the manager(Brian) when he finally came down he ignored me and went straight to her, listened to her version of what happened, told me she was in the right and that she had paying customers waiting behind me at the time and that I got my things for free with a voucher and i should be grateful, and he would make sure I never got another voucher... He was 6 inches from my face trying to intimidate me so I did tell him what i thought of him and he banned us from his store while elbowing my 12 yr old out the door. My issue was how alice treated my child on his personal clotting choice and trying to humiliate him than treating me rudely. At palouse Treasures the customer doesn't matter. read more

Let me start by saying I have found many things (treasures) that are in al most every room of my house. Just have to look. But recently was shocked at how low people will go for a buck. I donated a box of really good books. I watched to see how quick they sell. Only to find they never hit the floor. No one there would tell me why. Until a sweet little old women up stairs, told me. She said this happens a lot. Palouse treasures has a contract with a company and The company gives them a shipping container to fill up with good donations for penny's on the dollar and the company ships things over sea for a huge proffets. I knew they raised prices when the students move back in..... but not this. buyer beware! Donator beware read more

Palouse Treasures is certainly the premiere thrift shop at least in the heart of the Palouse region. It's two stories, with the top level being more furniture and housewares and the ground level being more clothing and books. I never seem to have luck in the clothing areas, but always find books and games, and occasionally music. Book prices are 89 cent paperbacks (sometimes 49 cents, even) / $1.29 hardcovers, so lower than the area Goodwill, and have more space devoted as well. Board games are often only 99 cents or $1.99. Records and cassettes go for 79 cents, though have limited turnover. This said, I've found some solid cassettes come through. CDs are $1.99, which I rarely bother browsing as it's one of the rare item types Palouse Treasures charges a higher amount for. VHS are merely 25 cents here, as well, and with a large selection. Prices are almost always reasonably low and they have decent enough turnover that it's worth going weekly to bi-weekly. Plus, being a charity thrift shop, you're helping the community by getting your thrift fix. read more

This is a fun thrift store to shop at. The staff is friendly and helpful, for example, in gladly helping you get heavy or bulky purchases out to your car. The selection of items is constantly being refreshed, and you can often find incredibly good bargains. Sometimes, though, a particular item seems over-priced; when this is the case, it eventually gets marked down and someone nabs the deal. The store used to be rather junky, dirty and in disarray. Something happened in the past year, however (new management?), and they've really cleaned up their act. There is much more order, now; the place is clean and more open. The downside of this is that there seems to be less selection of treasures to discover. I'm hoping they'll get in more "stuff" while retaining the clean, orderly arrangement they now have. If you like bargains and collecting things, Palouse Treasures is definitely one of the better thrift stores to check out. read more
