Walmart now deliberately finding ways too discriminate against law abiding homeless. Okay sure, when I first found myself in this position I still had a running vehicle. That was six no 7 months ago. Since then I've lost everything and I mean everything. A full home down to a single backpack in under a year. Ever had life's rug ripped out from underneath you so fast an octopus doesn't have the appendages or flexibility to keep up? Not to raise the alarm , but how many of you actually have 7 months of bills, rent etc etc in the background for a rainy day? Gives this some very serious thought people, piss off the right kind of person, or rather the wrong and this too could happen too you to. BTW, I'm not without at least some income and I've spent thousands at Walmarts all over the phoenix metro area in the time period we're talking about, and the Christian Walmart at Bethany home just lied to my face saying it's long standing corporate policy. I skimmed the other reviews posted so far and I'm actually surprised no one has mentioned the NOISE. I'm between this Walmart, Christown, and the one on 35th ave and Bethany. Sure, the Metro Walmart is large and carries more products, but there's a bone jarring humming coming from the ceiling through most of the grocery section. It's this loud, deep, and vibrating hum like a thousand a/c units are about to explode on the roof or something. I've never heard a noise like this anywhere except scenes in moves when UFOs are landing. It's bad enough to where I don't like having to go to this Walmart even though I should just because of the wider selection. read more

I have visited this store frequent for it's convenient. I find what I need most of the time and the workers are friendly and helpful. The one thing that I find horrid is the temperature in that store a couple of times now after 3pm when I get off work I stop to get things and its horrible HOT..I feel for the workers it's got to be rough on them. This is probably one of the worst Walmarts I've ever seen oh my gosh. It's like a total nightmare in there. One there is hardly any employees to help you. So low on staff really need to pull it together. Two the bathroom is sick it is so unacceptable for a big business to run like that. The bathrooms are a train wreck and absolutely disgusting it's a total shit show in there. The stalls are literally broken. They try to make there self sound like they care about keeping it clean but they don't they have done nothing it gets worse every time I go to Walmart. They really to pull it together. This is for the Wal-Mart at Metro Center Station Mall Phenix AZ. 1st off I never saw a bit of security. They must be to scared to go out of the store. Everything is locked down inside. I had to get a soecial associate to unlock the doubke locked security case to get a bike innertube. After paying which was a nightmare of people self checkouting and having constant additional item or over weight item issues I finally got checked out it took about 20 minutes. Two times Groups of Latinos tried to mess with me as I left the store. All I bought was a bike innertube and got messed with 2 times going to my truck. Both times they tried to grab my bag away from me. A clerk I talk to got transferred there and plans to quit if tthey can not get transferred out. Closest Wal-Mart to me but lately not very friendly for customer service. Greeter at the door (large Hispanic man) didn't acknowledge me in any way even when I said "good morning." I will admit shelves are better stocked than the Wal-Mart off 59th and W. Bell and the store is clean. Items are easy to find. Customer service is very lacking. Went to check out with the 20 items and less aisle. Older man working it. Greeted me but very curt when I asked how his day was going. No other interaction including at the end basically handed me my receipt, didn't make any eye contact and moved on to his next customer. Same greeter at the door. Asked him if I had to show him my receipt, just shook his head no. No verbal interaction. Will shop there because its close by not don't expect friendly customer service at all. read more

I tried to run in and grab some items for work. I should learn my lesson. Only one register lane open and long lines for the self check-out aisle. This is one of the most challenged Walmart's I've experienced. I even saw the same CSR who STILL works at the service desk, cursing out loud. Guess my feedback last time about her went unheeded. This walmart has a lot of products compared to other walmarts. Everything was pretty easy to find. Two things that concerned me. 1. It smells like rotten eggs through out the whole entire store..gas leak? I can't tell. Either way it really smelled deadly in there. 2. There's a pack of little kids out side have no idea why they're there. I just assumed they can't afford to get into castles in coasters or something. Was in the store about 2 hours, came out and they're still there. Reading the other reviews and seeing all the anti theft locks, it seems like they like to intimidate customers coming out of the store and snatch their bags. If you want your Walmart Delivery/Pickup missing items, delivered to the wrong place, received completely wrong items, or have to wait on hold for way more than the automated system says to get any sort of refund/assistance then feel free to use this store. The shelves are also usually missing most of items. I have never wanted to avoid a store so much in my life. PLEASE NEVER SHOP HERE SO YOU CAN KEEP YOUR SANITY. I have had three deliveries sent to the wrong place, many times missing items from the order or I get completely wrong things in my order. I also when I am doing a delivery have to always work around what they have, because they never have usual items at Walmart on stock. I mean what store runs out of green peppers and not have bananas stocked. I am so over this store and never have had this terrible experience at a store in my life. I have been employed with the company in the past and loved the store I worked at and got such an amazing experience even shopping there. I have had 5 delivery's with Wal-mart and have had a problem very time. but lets just talk about the last 3 times. So delivery #3 and #4 I cought the driver giving my groceries to the wrong address. This time #5 they never even showed up. When I called Wal-mart and excepted my delivery to be rescheduled they told they would refund my money but they would not reschedule because they're to busy. To busy? I paid for my order and I would like my order. They told me that they are only refunding accounts right now. and they use doordash and they are the ones that made the mistake. I told him as the "Manager" he should be taking responsibility for a service they offer. That alone makes me not want to do business with Wal-mart ever again. read more

Awful. Literally just awful I will never come back to this Walmart. I had a order for pickup that was ready before I got there and I sat in my car for 30 minutes after I checked in that I was here. When I finally asked where my order was the lady told me they gave it to someone else. I then asked to speak to the manager and had to go into the store to speak to her. When I went in I had to wait about 15 minutes for her to come out of the room to talk to me and she was not kind or understanding. It was clear that even the other employees recognized that she would take her sweet time to come out and talk to me. read more

The only reason they got 1 star was the cashier was very nice and so was the customer service worker. I went in for one thing I asked 2 workers where to find it and i got sent to 2 wrong locations. I finally googled where to find it and when I got to the make-up department the person working that area had started blocking it off when i asked if it was closed at 9pm she said yes then she continued to say why would i block it off if it was open. I dont understand if the store is open until midnight why a part of the store would be closed at 9pm. I work in customer service and that is not the way I would have treated a customer. Beware of grocery delivery! My wife submitted an grocery order on 4-16 to be delivered on the 18th. An hour after the order was suppose to be delivered, we got an alert saying it had been delivered- but it was not outside our door. Thinking it was possibly taken to the wrong house, we drove around the neighborhood to try and find it to no avail. We contacted grocery customer service to told us there was nothing they could do since they couldn't reach the store we ordered from, so they gave us their direct number to call ourselves. After several back and fourth calls with the store trying to schedule another time for delivery/pickup for our order which was just called "lost" by them, we finally just decided to cancel the order and have it refunded instead. That was on the 18th. We are still yet to see our $210.43 refund and have contacted the store several times since the 18th asking for an update, to which we are just told that it is "processing". I've also asked to speak to a manager when I call them and one is never available, so we are feeling extremely disrespected, and frustrated by this whole experience. We have been loyal customers for years, and this whole experience has us considering never shopping with them again. read more

Ordered some items to pick up at Walmart Metro-Center location. Notified that items were ready for pickup so my wife & I proceeded to that location. When we arrived we pulled into pickup slot, entered phone number posted on sign and got a recording that stated that the voicemail mailbox was full, please try again later. What the hell. Waited about 5 minutes, called again with the same results. Saw an employee walking around and spoke to him and he stated he would get our order. Waited about 10 minutes and saw him bringing somebody eles's order. When asked he said he was working on it, after another 10 minutes he brought out 5 out of 7 items we had ordered. Stated that 2 of the items we ordered were not in stock but we were never notified that items were not in, what a joke Walmart and it's pickup service. 0 out 10 in my book. 30 minutes wasted but it's only time while Walmart gets rich. read more

Visited the store to get a gift and a card for my mother for mother's day. When I went to the register to attempt to check out there was an issue with the gift card. After an arduous attempt to get a customer service manager. He then blamed us and blamed his cashier for some sort of wrongdoing. After, almost 20 minutes and three different cards later he somehow figured it out. He then provided us ways to make sure this didn't happen and kept trying to give us advice for how to make sure it doesn't happen again. Beware the deli dept. They only clean the slicer once a day . It should be cleaned every shift or 2×per shift. Food poisoning will occur.

This is a very big Walmart being superstore .you practically get everything under a single roof ranging from your prescription and over the counter medicines to groceries and food items to television and electronics to photos and stuff.the customer service people are friendly and check out is easier and they have self check outs available too.the deli is well stocked and the pastries are very tasty .the meat is good here .. read more

This location is loaded with all the standard Walmart issues. It's overcrowded, has poor customer service, kids running around aimlessly, large number of homeless people lurking around but only IF you go after 10am. There is this nice sweet spot. A time of day where the store is practically empty, the workers are extremely pleasant, no lost children and definitely no homeless lurking, it's from 6-9am. : ) If you are up early, you can take advantage of all Walmart's cheap pricing that frankly is why I go there in the first place. You are going to love this place as much as I do. If you are thinking of going after 10am. Just don't...make a turn into the Dillard Outlet in the mall and avoid this place like the plague. read more

I don't know if it's because the store is too small or what. It's always super crowded and there's never enough cashiers let alone working self-checkouts. If you try Ordering groceries GOOD LUCK!!! Every time I go to order my groceries for delivery, they always substitute my items with something that is completely wrong or an item I clearly did not want. For example I order Instant espresso and I was given CoCo Powder! Couldn't they substituted it with instant coffee instead? Another incident is literally astonishing to the point where Walmart doesn't give a crap what they substitute items with. I ordered Chicken nuggets and I'm being delivered VEGAN Chicken Nuggets, yes I said VEGAN Chicken Nuggets; That's so nasty! I do not have a vegan diet nor does my family. Got to say I love my Blackweb portable battery charger literally I can charge my Iphone three times. The gentleman that helped me in electronics was awesome. On December 3rd around 11:30Am. I also liked the clerk I got when checking out. He was nice with a sense of humor and I'll never forget how he asked the lady in front of me if he could use her lotion. This Walmart is great. Since it's brand new & even though it's in the good hood, it's super clean, well kept & the cosmetics section is one of the best I've ever seen. They have the Maybelline Superstay Foundation & the entire color range for the brand new Covergirl foundation. The only brand they don't carry at this location Is Physician's Formula. This location also always had a huge selection of air freshener items in the cleaning aisle & that's why I keep coming back. This was 90% bad from the four hour process start to end. And it should never take four hours to try and place a simple curbside grocery order and even then not get it. I went online to place a curbside grocery order and was told by the website that I would not be able to pick up the order for two days. This seemed ridiculously inaccurate, so I called the store to verify before I accepted that date, and the person who worked in that department said, no, that is not accurate, that had happened to a few people already that day, they were not even behind, I could place the order today and pick it up today, but it had to go through the website, so the problem was with the website. He apologized for the ordering and dates problems and said I needed to call WalMart corporate and they would fix it and then I could get the order placed for pickup on the appropriate day of today - that day. I said ok. I called corporate and immediately was placed on hold for approximately twenty minutes. Which was just ridiculous. Finally a CS rep picked up and said, ok, he would find my order, and once he did, he said, it looks like we can get your order placed for two days from now. !! So once again, I explained what the store employee said. He stated that the computer told him something different. I asked for a supervisor. He said no. We then engaged in a ten minute argument with him refusing to get me a supervisor. Then the call dropped. So I called back, and waited another twenty minutes for a different CS representative. The same thing occurred and I first said, please call the store and just see what they said, since you are not listening to me and just stating, that is what the computer is telling me. So i was put on hold. For a long long long long long time. By now it had been almost two hours. My phone finally died. So I drove to the store. And asked for a manager. Marshall, a manager came out and I let her know what had occurred. She said she would go look up my order. I then waited for another forty five minutes on top of the fifteen I'd already been there. (My pets were in the car, etc.) After moving over to a curbside pickup spot when an employee directed me there, an associate came over and asked me if I was waiting, and I asked him if he could go find her please, she had said she was looking up my order and then never shown back up. A different associate finally came out and said, I am sorry, she never did anything, she didn't know you were still waiting. She said something to her boss maybe. I'm not sure what happened. I can't find your order. I'm sorry for what happened. You will have to re-order. I was on my way out into the desert for a long drive with pets and myself and needed water and food, it was late at night. That whole process took four hours of screwups and no one fixed anything, and I left with no water, no groceries, the manager did nothing and did not apologize or fix anything. She just disappeared. The whole thing was pretty shameful and a mess. A few other people apologized for other employees but that made my trip dangerous and late at night and that was Really Bad. Really Bad. Went to make a return on an item, had my receipt and everything, waited in a long and slow line. Then get told my item is not returnable because it's a holiday item. I had no reason to think it's a holiday item; it's a blanket. Nothing at all on the receipt to mark as it a holiday item, either. Nothing at all on the receipt, either, noting any return policies or any info at all regarding them. No info posted at all regarding returns in the customer service / return part of the store. Yet I could not return the blanket. Only real reason I can get from all this is that I wasn't allowed to make the return as I was the only white person in line. read more

Been here a few times and wasn't so pleased with the service. The Five stars are not for the store but for the cashier that was at register 8 today around 3:15 pm. His name was Nicholas. What a great asset to this store. He should train a lot of the other employees on how to treat customers. The worst customer service in the area! Never consistent with anything they do or enforce!. Three months ago I went with my ten years old daughter as we were walking in they stopped my daughter because she has a mini purse backpack and supposedly store policy you can't bring a backpack! Yet they had six customer walking with big backpacks... last week I came in w my medical dog as I was walking in a family is walking out w a puppy and yet I was stoped again and told me I can't bring my dog in!. Now after I paid my groceries my mother who is 67 is paying for ur wine and the cashier asked me for my ID! Wtf really! Then the cashier was asking the lost prevention to escort me out because I was complaining how dumb and inconsistent they are. Wow never been so disrespected and embarrassed by Walmart associates. Because I was waiting for her she refused to sell the wine to my mother.... I have never ever had such a horrible experience to any Walmart this is the only Walmart that really is very disrespectful and inconsistent with anything! And I was told by the CSM and lost prevention I shouldn't shop here at their store anymore!. Big store. Clean. Plenty of handy parking. Lots of choices. Great Location. The pickup for online ordering is right inside the door, not way back at the back of the store, so you don't have to walk a mile to get there. And....comfy chairs to sit in while they fetch your order. I love this Wal-Mart. There was even samples in the food section on the weekend, wow! Don't forget your donut at an awesome price.
