2 hours. I dropped my truck off to get a flat fixed. We shopped, killed time. 2 hours passed and they hadn't started it. There was 1 oil change ahead of me when we got there and they were filling the oil. 2 hours my truck sat there while they worked on other vehicles that came in after me. I was polite dropping off and picking up. The manager just shrugged and said they chose to work on other vehicles instead. Simply stated, I placed a grocery order for delivery. The order was delivered missing half the items ordered, although I was charged for the entire order. This is the second time this has happened in two months. The first time, the store blamed the driver; the second time the driver's boss (the driver didn't speak English) blamed the store. This Peru Walmart Automotive Service Center employees park customer vehicles that have been serviced in the handicap parking spaces. It may seem unbelievable that anyone would park in a Handicapped parking space for any reason when they are not eligible/authorized but it happens at Peru Walmart Auto service area. My visit today was not the first time Walmart Auto Service employees have parked a not handicapped eligible vehicle in a marked handicap spot. I have no idea how thoughtless/mindless an employee or anyone would be to park like this. I did call and speak with a store manager and she said it would be dealt with after reviewing security cameras. I believe she was sincere but, I also believe that after the attention fades the employees that did this will go back to their lazy ADA thumb their noses ways. Please pay attention to the Peru Illinois Walmart Auto service Handicap parking spaces and bring violations to the store managers attention because obviously ADA means spit to the Auto Service Manager and employees that do this! I should post a picture of the vehicle that was parked there but it would bring further embarrassment to the young lady that had her car parked there. read more

The Place This Walmart Supercenter is located at 5307 Rt 251 Peru, Illinois. This is a clean store and in normal times has a complete inventory. The deli area has the typical offerings and the service has been good on my visits. The service/experience/value Overall I have had good experiences at this Walmart. Bought a 75" TV from Peru. Opened it up and the screen was shattered. Immediately called the store, they said bring it in. Loaded it up, drove all the way in to the store. Only to be told that customer service was closed at 8. No one told us that on the phone when I called. Apparently after 8 there is not one soul who can do a return. The best thing about Wal-Mart is no matter what store you go to, they are all rude. Sure some of the products are less expensive, but sometimes it's better to pay a little more and shop at a clean store with nice employees. If I have to shop there, I will avoid certain cashiers. I went to this Wal-Mart with 2 friends. I hadn't planned on buying anything but on our way out I decided to pick up a case of beer. I headed to the self check outs and scanned the beer, ID at the ready. After a 5 minute wait (she was busy) the lady working that section headed over to card me; the only problem being she wanted to card all 3 of us. We are all above the age required to legally buy alcohol but because a friend was standing next to me without an ID on her, I wasn't allowed to buy the beer. The lady apologized and said it was company which I understand. Now the problem isn't that they refused to sell me the beer (which was kind of dumb anyway) but that she then proceeded to follow me out of the store to my car and watched me until I drove away. They treated me like a common thief for trying to legally buy beer. Not only is that unacceptable but it's highly unprofessional. I will not be shopping there again any time soon. read more

I decided to go with a walmart pre paid visa card. Set up my paycheck to go direct deposit. Told me it would take two weeks to receive my debit card but i could use the temp card. 1st problem.. temp card would not allow cash withdrawal. 2nd would not allow transfer of funds. 3rd problem card never came. So i called walmart support and after 10 minutes of fighting recordings i was able to talk to a rep. The kindly apologized and ordered me a new card. Next day i could no longef use the temp card. Apon calling support agsin i was told funds were moved to new card (that im now waiting another two weeks for) and no longer had access to my funds. With two payroll check deposited it left me with no funds for two weeks or until the elusive card shows up. Support people were rude and useless. Had no salutation to the problem nor did they care. Stay clear of the walmart cards. read more

I want to give ABBY in Peru, Illinois who works at Wal-mart in the phone dept up front by the registers a Big Shoutout! She fixed my husband's phone in five minutes after we were told by a sales clerk at the register back in the Electronics Dept. that the phone was broken! We had just bought it at our Walmart in our town in Nebraska to use on our trip to Indiana. We were traveling through Peru, Illinois on our way to my neice's wedding. My hubby was having problems with his new Trackphone. SHE KNOWS ALL ABOUT TRACKPHONES! Thanks Abby! And Thanks to her mgr. who recommended her! They were BOTH a lot more helpful than the girl in Electronics dept. Who by the way didn't tell us to go up front to the phone department. We just happened to see the phone department as we were checking out. I highly recommend you stop by here if you need help with your phone! We appreciated her help& were happy we didn't have to buy another phone! It was just a setting that needed to be changed! We couldn't figure out how to do it ourselves. Bathrooms were awful....like pee on the floor, smells like a zoo awful! I can't get rid of the smell!

I had to stop in the automotive dept for an emergency repair while on a road trip. We were told the repair would take about 30 min so I figured we would just browse the store while we waited. 30 minutes later I decided to check in on the repair. The guy who I just spoke to 30 minutes prior didn't even recognize me (they weren't that busy). And said the repair hadn't even started yet. So fortunately I had family in the area and went out to dinner with them. Three hours later I get a call from the repair tech and telling me that they need a hub lock key--I told them where it was (glovebox) and I explicitly told the guy who took my car in where it was before hand (I guess this info was lost along the way). Then when the repair was complete (4 hours after I dropped off the car) they forgot to put my spare back on the car. I had to go back and get it myself. Really poor customer service. I will avoid any Walmart for auto service in the future. read more

I'm a fan of shopping at Walmart because of the prices. I do think they should pay their workers more but I am not rich so I like shopping where I can get a good deal. The bathrooms are always pretty clean here but I don't give the place 5 stars because they never have enough people working the cash registers at night. There are always huge lines are they have to call people up from different departments. I don't think that is right because you can't get work done if you are constantly being called up front to check people out. I used to work in 2 different grocery stores and it was constantly a problem when they didn't schedule enough people. They should schedule at least 2 extra persons to cashier until at least 2am and then I think they would be good. I know some nights you have slow moments but this place always seems to be backed up in the evening. But as for the items offered, I think the prices are usually very good and the people who work there are generally friendly. I have to shop there for my work usually at least once a week and the cashier is always very nice to us and chats a lot and is very pleasant. I like the food in their deli area and the stuff from their bakery too. You can even find deals on the day old stuff by the milk and it is discounted from the original price. I've never tried their beef or pork because I don't eat red meat, but I think their chicken, turkey, and seafood or the same or better quality than some you can get at Hy-Vee. I like their packaged seafood better than Hy-Vee actually because it is cheaper and sometimes better quality. Their packaged cod, salmon, flounder, etc. is in smaller packages but is cheaper to buy 2 of those than to buy 1 package at Hy-Vee of the same count of servings. I don't know why but I just can't stand paying too much for certain things. Now as for Chinese, I would go to Hy-Vee for that and bakery bread but not much more when it comes to food but their produce area is very nice and it is clean in there. Sometimes Walmart isn't that clean but it is cheap and sometimes that is what you want as long as the food is as good as other stores offer. This place is very big though and you can get your groceries and your items for you home at the same time. That is one of the things that I like about it. I also like looking through their $5 DVD bin because you can get some good deals. read more

I bought a 55 inch TLC Roko smart tv from them in June of 2016 here it is in January of 2017 and its not working called and said it was only a 15 day warrentee so here I am out of luck with a worthless TV I will never shop there again and would encourage others not to because they don't stand behind the stuff they sell read more

Just left Walmart In Peru Il, We went in for 1 thing and got about fifty dollars worth of groceries. Then came the check out. 26 registers and only 8 working there were about 35 people in line. Someone called for more help and after about 10 min 1 more register opened. There were 6 registers on one end and 2 at the other. We did as several others did finally and left our cart. we will shop at our local grocery tomorrow, where all the checkouts will be open and the people will be courteous. read more

Here's the deal. Every employee there is mistreated therefore unhappy be nice to them. The people walking around with there little head sets and fake smiles are who you need to bother because as a ex employee for one they don't care about you they don't care about their people they care about themselves. Shake them up a little by asking them for help. I'm sure they'll turn red and have no idea what to do. Why are they always hiring? Much like a prison they are a revolving door. So shop there but think twice before wasting your time applying going through a orientation where they fake liking you and than being part of the unknown throwaways known as associates. Went to the paint department at the Peru SuperWalmart today with the intentions of getting a can of paint mixed up for a small project I was doing. After waiting at the counter for a few minutes, I decided to call Walmart and asked them if they could have someone come over and mix some paint for me. A page was made and still no one showed. Then an assistant manager seen me standing there and asked me if I needed paint mixed. I said yes and she paged for some assistance to the paint counter and to no avail noone showed up. A total of 13 minutes I stood at that paint counter waiting for help. I was fed up! As I walked away I confronted an associate of my dilemma and I was told that this store was cutting their hours and now because of it there is no help. Why would you not have enough coverage especially on the weekends. I left the store and went to Home Depot where I got waited on right away and walked out with the paint in hand that I needed. read more
