Absolutely love this store. All the workers here are fantastic. If you don't see something on the shelves you can just find a manager and they will be happy to go looking for it and they have found stuff for me in the back on more than one occasion. I especially want to give props to the two sisters that work in the deli section. They always greet me with a smile and are very gracious. I also like it when Peggy is back in the deli department as she is so helpful, and has turned me on to a couple of good items there. I never thought I'd be buying my cold cuts in Wal-Mart. But here I am every week. I would also like to give props to Jane the beautifully kind woman that works on the register. She's always very happy to see me. And last year when I had a couple of operations, she was always praying for me and checking on me whenever I came back afterwards. I love the prices and everything here. But it's the people that make you stand Head and shoulders above everybody else. I would be remiss if I didn't say thanks to one of your great workers named Ron. He always greets me with such a smile and says Hey Mike do you need anything special today. He looks like he wears many hats at this place. And he does every job well. Don't get Walmart + w free delivery Cause they don't take responsibility for their drivers. They don't read the delivery instructions. It can get crazy around here during move-in week for colleges nearby. This is where all us SUCO kids go for most things. It's a bit far and there is not a direct way to get there by bus. Walmart does have almost everything I've needed though. It's great for getting craft supplies during RUSH. For Thanksgiving, this of course is where I got everything for our friends-giving meal. Hall government buys platters of boneless wings during finals week for about $100. It's a really good deal to feed 300 people. For club fundraisers, we get all our cooking supplies as well as cute decorations for packaging. The one thing I really like that they do not carry are mini Eggos. Some things that are really nice that this Walmart carries is $1 French loaves in a little plastic case, keeping it fresh. As soon as you crack open the drawer, the smell of fresh aromatic bread flows out, mmm! Very affordable and delicious. Perfect for college students. They also have a lot of nice string lights to decorate with. I like buying purple ones around Halloween and just keeping it up all year round. It's such a unique color. I can't say that service here is particularly good or bad. I've never had a great experience or a really poor one. This place gets the job done. Also nice that there's a bathroom here since it's a long trip for some people that do not have cars. There is a key copying machine, a nail salon, and a pharmacy here as well. There is plenty of parking and this place is open 24 hours 7 days a week. I've come here at 4am and it isn't totally quiet. The south side bus does come here, but it stops running by 5pm, so good luck. It is located near a pet store, office supplies, sushi, Burger King, Apple Bee's, a movie theatre, and TJ Maxx. I like the Oneonta Walmart because if you "know" how to shop prices are better than any other competitors. However like every retail store there is a obvious issue of theft. Walmart is like a magnet it will draw in customers from the worst to the best. I suggest that if you are concerned about that simply go to walmart.com and actually purchase the items online, after comparing the item with its competitors, also online, and then the store employees will put it in your cart as a completed purchase. Don't be hesitant about asking an employee for assistance or even going to Customer Service for assistance. The perennial scam in all Big Box stores is excessive returns and misuse of the self-payment registers. Be assured that all stores have the same security methods and they are quite good at catching the bad people. If you just want to walk around and shop another suggestion is to call the store and ask them if they have a specific item, and to actually hold it for you. There is an excellent free Walmart app for your smart phone to make shopping much easier by actually locating the item and current price. Walmart still has a policy of meeting the cost of all other "local" competitors with the actual flyer listing prices. The pizza and Italian-type foods are the mainstay of many college people. Parking lot has more potholes all over the place no wonder how they get the car service customers for blown out tires and bent frames inside store peoples have eaten food or drinks left on shelves throughout the entire store. Always working, offered to help me get a giant item into my car on his own accord, VERY respectable and referred to me as ma'am - ALL employees should be like this man in my opinion. I called the help center and was greeted with frustration after asking for help with the package and I was very confused as to why it was such an amazing favor to ask... then they refused to pick up my second call, trying to dodge my request. I don't go into Walmart much actually I think this is the second time I actually went into Walmart. Everything I order is online and they delivered to my door. I can't believe how filthy these floors were I think I even seen a pile of poop smeared on the floor. The staff was very helpful trying to guide us to find the beer pong balls but we could not find them we got everything else we needed but the beer pong balls. And believe me I need a beer after being in that place. I can't believe how filthy the floors well I mean I know they get a lot of people but so does Home Depot and those floors are shiny clean at the end of the day and all during the day. All of the cashiers stations you'll see in the photo with the blue cabinet is totally filthy at the bottom. Looks like they took the mumps and slapped it up against it and didn't bother wiping the dirty water off of it so time and time again it just builds up. So disgusting. read more

This Walmart is always well-stocked and the service is semi-friendly. Basically, they have everything. It's a supercenter, so open 24/7 and they have all the regular supercenter sections: supermarket with meat and poultry, baked goods, frozen food, dairy, produce, seafood, garden center, pet shop, pharmacy, tire & lube, optical center, one-hour photo lab, portrait studio, cell phone store, hair and nail salons. There's also a McDonalds inside. I think they may also have a bank branch, though it's not well-marked. They have a kids toy's section complete with bikes, a fitness section, clothing, camping, outdoor, hunting, fishing, sports, gun, hardware, automotive, appliance, kitchen section, home goods section (pillows, towels, sheets, etc). The cosmetics and toiletries section is huge, bigger than most of the Walmarts I've seen. Too bad it's only well-stocked half the time. I've never had a problem returning any items. Pharmacy service has always been very friendly and informative. Produce is almost always fresh. They have vegetarian products, but not a huge selection. They have layaway in the back. The cell phone store (I believe they have verizon, sprint and AT&T) is by the electronics is also in the back. There are also self-checkouts here now. read more

Walmart's products are terrible quality, but management is great! I bought a pool there, had to return it THREE TIMES because each one leaked. I am upset I had to waste 600 gallons of water on the pool; however, Tim in management was incredibly helpful! Great customer service. read more

How could you go to any place in the country and not find the nearest Walmart!? This place literally has everything! A bunch of stuff that I wouldn't find at home. I did notice being in New York you have to initiate contact with the staff to get help. But it's great customer service when they do help! In California they usually ask if your finding everything ok and so forth... that's the only difference between here and California Walmart's. Honestly I think the employees are there just in case you need assistance. For the most part they let you do your shopping in peace. I probably go to Walmart maybe 2-3 times a week! It's Wal-Mart so they have just about anything that you need. The only issues I've had is that when it's really busy that don't seem to have enough lanes open so you end up waiting longer then it took to get what you needed. read more

I am deeply disappointed in my local Walmart. They are striving to compete against Amazon. It is believed that their strength versus Amazon is their ability to interact with customers face to face. Their strength is actually their primary weakness when it comes to 'online' shopping. I tried out their online ordering for 2 TVs. No reason other than I worked there (really enjoyed it) and thought why not. I placed the order for one TV that was shown to be currently available at the store, and one that would be shipped to my home within 2 days. The order indicated that I should go to the store before 8pm to pickup the 1st TV. At 6:30 I was at the store. Luckly I was there at 6:30 because the online pickup center closes at 7PM. The sale's associate couldn't find the order, and got a 'manager'. This manager came out and said I canceled my order, and the other TV would be delivered by 30 July. I said I didn't cancel anything. She said it looks like I did, and I would need to go fix it. WoW! Amazon would never have done that. Amazon would have helped me 'fix' it, and make the order. I spend over $1,000 per month with Amazon, and the reason being is their Excellent Customer Service. The reason I won't ever order on-line from Wal-Mart is their lack of Customer Service; their supposed strength of face to face is actual their weakness. Recommendation in order to compete with Amazon---Fix your strength so that it is a strength, and not a weakness. read more

I've had no choice but to shop at cheaper stores in the last few years. Walmart is fine for some things but I want my kids to grow into healthy adults and the produce is so bad. It looks good but you can taste the pesticides in it. If you want organic, it's so expensive that it sits around for too long and no one wants it. I'll keep going for some stuff but be warned...don't feed your kids chemicals. Any store that even sells Round-Up type weed killers won't hesitate to add it to your food. read more

As far as Walmarts go, this is a pretty decent one. The one major downside is that they never seem to have any hand held shopping baskets available, like all other supermarkets in the area. This leads to unnecessary congestion in the aisles, since customers now have to push around an entire shopping cart. During the weekends and busy hours the aisles become completely gridlocked. Why have customers push around an entire cart, when in many cases they are just there for a few quick purchases that would only fill a basket? read more

I was @ Walmart today, I always shop Walmart, I was looking for barbers food in the freezer section, i was looking for raw stuffed chicken Breast and it is called Chicken Parmesan, It is labeled RAW because you have to cook it in the oven, you do not have any of these products that say RAW on them in the Freezer section, I had to go to Pricechopper to get them, Why ???? read more

Regrettably downgrading to 1 star because their cashiers are disgusting. Thy lick their fingers and wipe their noses while bagging groceries, and god forbid you call them on it. Other employees bother me because I guess sitting in my wheelchair out of their way while waiting for my friend is tantamount to yelling "Help! I can't find or reach anything! And I probably am having a medical emergency so please ask if I'm okay!" Good luck complaining; the people at customer service don't care. I doubt my concerns make it past the trash can. I want to love a store where you can buy hats, cereal, cat litter, and Frozen bedsheets in one cheap trip, but I can't go here without feeling disrespected and disgusted. read more

This Walmart is my go-to place for 99% of what I need. It is normally cheaper at Walmart than the sales anywhere else. They will match a lower price from other stores if you show them the flyer or print-out of the competitor's price. I've had good experiences with their automotive, pharmacy, and electronics departments. I have not had any problems here since they opened years ago. I have had good reception and assistance from every employee a I have asked for help. I go here at least twice a week, even though it's about a 15 mile drive. It's definitely worth it for the savings and availability of what I need! read more

My mother and I were in line at Walmart and in front of us was a father and little girl who was about as tall as the conveyer belt. You can tell the cashier had an attitude and was upset about something about the customer before hand. Then he threw the divider half way off the conveyer belt and almost hit the little girl in the face. The father never said anything yet. My mother spoke up and said "excuse me sir, you almost hit the little girl in the face with the divider". The man mouthed off and never apologized to the little girl. The father of the kid did back my mother up. Then the cashier decided to throw the diver again at me. At that moment, my mother was upset and left the line to go speak to a manager ASAP. The manager laughed but did say that was unacceptable behavior and will take care of it. The Cashier was never relieved from the line and I don't see where anything was taking care of. However, management may have done something after we left, but we don't know. After the cashier cashed us out and handed the receipt to my mother, the cashier raised his voice and said sarcastically, "Thank you and have a great day!". This whole thing is very upsetting. Doesn't surprise me as this is just one incident at Walmart. If I had other choices, I would be shopping elsewhere. read more
