Looking at the reviews I must of stopped in on a good day. I found a parking space realitively close to the entrance, immediately after entering the store I found a friendly associate, so I asked her where the shipping items were located and she provided me with accurate information and offered to show me which I declined not wanting to waste her time. I found everything I needed without having to go on a time consuming search of the store and found a check-out line that had only a few customers ahead of me with a very friendly checker that greeted me with a smile and asked me if I had found everything okay and thanked me for stopping and wished me a good day. Here's a review that is long, long, long overdue. I have been to many Walmarts in my life, and this one is one of the worst. Where to begin? Lets start with the parking lot. The parking lot is downright scary. The traffic in and out of the lot is nuts, the folks perpetually hanging out in the lot look rough, and it's hard to decide where in the lot to park because the staff is constantly locking entrances to the store without warning. The back entrance (lawn and garden) is often locked way sooner than it should be, and the same is true for the home goods section. God forbid you park at the wrong entrance at the wrong time, and you'll be doing a TON of walking. Once you walk into the store, you'll immediately be sorry that you did. The city of Mt Dora is a charming, historic town known for it's quaint shops, gorgeous downtown, arts and crafts festival, etc. However, you wouldn't know that by walking into this Walmart. It's crammed packed full of rude, miserable looking patrons and employees. It's almost always crowded, and folks here will straight up run you over if you don't get out of their way. Ill-mannered doesn't even begin to describe it. Yes, they've shut down most of their self checkout registers, but they've done so without hiring the necessary staff to adequately deal with demand. So good luck checking out in a reasonable amount of time. The clearance section at this location is also terrible. Often they only mark the items down a few pennies, or the items in this section aren't even priced. The collectibles section near electronics never gets anything new in stock. It's a barren wasteland. They had a deal going on a Walmart+ subscription. We signed up (rewarding bad behavior, I realize) just so that we can get groceries delivered right to our door, and never have to step foot inside this location again. It's that bad. Most of the other stores in Mt Dora are actually quite lovely. I'll never understand why this store is so much worse than the rest of Mt Dora's establishments. read more

This was our local Walmart for several years when we lived in central Florida, but now that we have moved back to our home state, we only shop here when we come south for a visit. This store is enough like the others I have been to in the chain that I feel comfortable shopping. The limited interactions I have had with employees have found them all to be pleasant and efficient. I have had a return for refund, a pickup in the drop off area, some regular shopping experience and having to find an employee to unlock a flip drive for a purchase, so I guess I have gone though enough types of transactions to offer an opinion. The only minor negative comment is that their parking lot can be confusing to maneuver around in. read more

This has to do with their delivery service. Placed an order and as the driver pulled into my driveway the order was cancelled. She was unable to reach customer service so I told her to leave. When I finally reached customer service they said it was cancelled due to cold items. The order arrived on time so I still don't understand and they could not give a good reason. It took a good 30 minutes for the system to get me to a human that could look into this. It might have helped if the driver had spoke English. Please send out drivers that can communicate with customers. read more

5 minutes in to get what you want and 30 minutes to checkout. The few checkout lanes that are open have very long lines. Not nearly enough other checkout registers are open. Here's a commentary that needs to be heard but won't make a difference. My most recent visit to WalMart should have qualified me for employee status. I parked far enough away to be in the employee zone, I brought a shopping cart off the lot back inside the store, the product I wanted wasn't on the shelf so I restocked it from a nearby abandoned stock cart, I checked myself out as a cashier, bagged my own groceries, and escorted myself out of the store having used the app that emails me my receipt, and I thanked myself for shopping noting that the line moved faster and it was actually easier to do it all myself. Honestly I could be employee of the month with that level of service and dedication. I was polite even acknowledged other shoppers, got out of their way, and did recovery facing the labels on the products I shopped. Convenience, price, and selection allows this chain to continue to exist but if I'm going to do all the work I deserve the employee discount. read more

Purchased 2 cereal, charged for 3. Because of this, I spent 20 minutes trying to cont the store with no answer. The phone automatically disconnects at 5 minutes. I tried the deli, electronic, baker, pharmacy ( who just sent me back to the operator that isn't there) and HR. No answer from anyone. I can save Wal-Mart money. Had gone to the phone center trying to help out an older friend getting a track phone, he didn't understand how exactly they worked and instead of politely explaining the old woman had a horrible attitude. Disgusting behavior, growing up I was taught to treat my elders with respect not like they're stupid garbage like this lady did. Thank God I was with him or they would have continued to treat him like garbage, this lady needs to be fired immediately. Before my experience this afternoon I already knew the Mount Dora store was perhaps the worst Walmart I have ever patronized. Today, however, they found an even lower level of customer service when I tried to return a printer cartridge I had purchased there a day or so previously. When I installed the new cartridge on my printer I got a message that the cartridge was counterfeit, along with a warning not to use it. Naturally I returned to the store with my counterfeit cartridge in hand, expecting a refund. Surprise! I was told I couldn't get a refund because the package had been opened. When I asked, how else could I have learned that it was counterfeit, they had no answer. I'm wondering, if I had bought, say, a package of hot dogs there instead and upon opening it I found that they were all rancid, would I have encountered the same resistance when I wanted a refund? I imagine so. So if you buy something there and it's defective, you're out of luck. read more

Worst of all Walmart stores. Employees either speak Creole or Spanish. Shelves poorly stocked. Very disturbing to walk into the live plants area and find most plants dead. I made 4 attempts to buy a cell phone . Each time I was told I could only buy one from a "phone" person. Long wait and no one ever showed up. Twice I needed an item from highest shelf. I am a fan of Walmart's prices, but I am not a fan of the crowds, lack of service, pricing errors, and long checkout lines. I shop at Walmart to save money on certain everyday items, especially sliced and shredded cheese, chips, dish soap for the dishwasher, and gallons of water; I sometimes find the canned goods when on sale. The savings on these ate generally worth the hassle if I stock up on a planned purchase trip. Socks, underwear, and nightshirts are also good deals which I will purchase on a planned trip when needed. I also will use Walmart's pharmacy for ad hoc prescription needs such as antibiotics when sick. Otherwise, I use a club store which is quite a bit further away but has cheaper prices. When sick who feels like traveling? I did extensive research on my parents medications and found Walmart one of the lower ones but not as low as the club store. My best kept Walmart shopping tip are the seasonal (e.g., Christmas and Halloween) adult t-shirts. The shirts are generally under $5 and available in a variety of cute pictures. We get new ones each year for family photos. And yes, we love Halloween that much that we do a photo then too. Gotta have a little fun and not take yourselves too seriously. read more

Went to Walmart 06/10/21 with two manufacturer coupons for two cases of 32 bottles of Nestle Pure Life water. Was told by the first cashier upon merely seeing the coupons that her manager had told her that people were not suppose to be able to use manufacturer coupons without purchasing something else. She did pretend to try to ring up the purchase after I informed her that was the case. Her terminal wasn't working, she could as she pretended get the transaction to complete. I told her to call a manager. She called a manager and they had an elongated discussion that I could see. The alleged manager came over to the check out and she too pretended the transaction would not go thru. The alleged manager then moved the transaction to another register and now she alleged the coupon was not for the 32 bottles. Once I pointed out to her the 32 bottles on the coupon MAGIC occurred. As she was out of excuses she swiped the barcode on the back of each of the manufacturer coupons and gave me my receipt. INADEUATE CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE: Contacted their customer service because they were in my opinion trying to keep me from using manufacturer coupons based on their belief they had the right to set an internal policy over and against Walmart practices. If I could give no stars I would. By far the WORST Walmart I have ever had the misfortune of shopping at. Rude employees, nasty, empty shelves, curbside pickup always telling me they don't have things when they actually do, and curbside taking over an hour every time I try to pick up after they send me the email saying my stuff is ready. I will try to keep this review to a minimum. Location from my house is great. We live in Eustis and it's convenient. This store is ok. Not great. The reason is that they always seem under stocked. And this was prior to COVID 19. Now it's worse. We sometimes go to the one in Leesburg and we have a better experience but feel obligated to come to this one because of how close it is. Will we continue coming here? Yes! Of course. No Walmart is ever 100% perfect but with these Walmarts fairly close to each other it makes me think that the management at this location may need to increase their performance standards and be consistent with other near stores to provide a consistent level of service. I will also say that I work a lot with the public and I know retail work and Management is not easy so I hope these reviews are taken as positive feedback for improvement and not as a bashing post. read more

The customer service associates working on May 5, 2022, as well as the cashier working the self check out lanes were some of the rudest people I have ever met. When asking about the price of an item not scanning the same as it does on the app on my phone, I barely got the words out before they said they do not and will not price match or price adjust. I was also told that price is online purchase only when you have it delivered. I questioned that and she repeated it. She scanned the items and told me the total and I said I was not paying that because they are less than that and scanned the items and showed her on my phone. She looked at the phone and I told her where it said what aisle to locate it and it could be picked up in store OR delivered. Since I was already there I asked if I could just get them and she again said yes, at the higher price. I told her I was not doing that. She shoved the items to the other associate and says "here, you take care of them. I am going on break, I need a mental break!" The other girl looks at us and says she isn't doing any price adjustment either! Without going very far the first girl just stands there and I again wanted to clarify about ordering online. She said I had to order online then if I came to the store pay for it when I picked it up and it would be the higher price or order online and have it delivered and it would be the lower price.....I told her I had already ordered it and paid for it at the lower price and would come back and pick it up. And to save them a trip from having to go to the shelf to get it they could just put it in a bag and it would be ready to go! They are idiots! Maybe not only do they need classes in customer relations, people skills, and common sense. They, along with management (since that is who they like to keep blaming) should look up their corporate policy and the multiple websites stating what the price match guarantee is specifically between Walmart stores and Walmart.com. This is why I try to shop anywhere other than Walmart as much as I can! Mount Dora Walmart must run an ad stating they are looking for the rudest people possible to work for them! read more

I worked here for a year and a half WHILE HOMELESS THE ENTIRE TIME and they made it hell for me from day one. First they kicking my fiancé out of the store multiple times just for sitting on the benches and walking around the store like any other customer. "He dressed inappropriately, he's in the store too long, he makes employees uncomfortable." AKA how to kick out a homeless person without saying we hate homeless people. I put my food in the break room fridge with my name on it and had my food stolen multiple times. What's more it was left half eaten just so I would know I'm being spited. Despite me being promoted to AP and us being regular shoppers who never stole a thing, we were stalked by APA every single time we went shopping. And that includes whenever APA was off duty. They will lie to each other about you just to spread rumors and get you in trouble. I had multiple CSMs lie about my fiancé hanging around me while I was working on multiple occasions. It went on for the entire year and a half and every single time, I had to confront the higher bosses about it and they said it was a non-issue. How petty and jealous do you have to be of two homeless people's relationship that you're willing to cause petty problems for almost 2 years? You'd have to be Mount Dora Walmart! If you ever find yourself working here, record them. Record them with your phones. Take pictures of them. Report them to Market Human Resources. Report them to Walmart Ethics. Report them to your local news outlets. Report them to sleazy media outlets. Blast them on social media. Report them to everyone and anyone. Cutting to the chase. The reason why I give them 3 of 5 stars is because they lack size choices. I went in there to buy camping gears. Last thing I needed was a rain suit but they only had medium as their smallest size. I really needed a rain suit therefore I just bought it and made it work for the weekend camping. After, the weekend, I went back to Walmart thinking they would have restocked. Needless to say, they still have the same rain suits as they had the week before. Not impressed on that. So, I just returned the medium size and went home. Customer service was great though. The wait was only about 2 minutes and the Walmart employee was very nice. This is the worst Walmart in America! The cashier Rhonda seems to be racist or just ignorant!!! Last week I as I rang up 7 bowls which .50 cents each. She yells across the self check "ma'a you didn't ring up all of your bowls" everyone turns to look at me(how embarrassing" I showed her how many bowls I had then she walks over and apologizes quiet. Today I purchased four sweaters from the clearance rack. One didn't have a tag so I reach into the cart to get the same exact sweater so guess what Rhonda does!!!! Ma'am you didn't pay for that! The one lap top was so bad that they had to but a new windows 10 on it ,but they did not activate windows 10, they told me it would cost $69 to activate all I had to do was get a activation code. from the back of the store. They did not have it and I had to call Microsoft and pay $139 for they program because the activation code and the program have to be the same.
