I've been going to this store for years but something has changed the past few months. Shelves are disorganized, sales posters in the wrong place, and don't get me going on the condition of the bathrooms. Also the eyeroll from the teenager working bagging items was not appreciated. This is my local Publix since moving to Mount Dora from Orlando. This publix is a big change from my Orlando ones. Example the Bakery is sad. Went in to get a dozen or 1/2 dozen cupcakes chocolate for a birthday. Was informed the had no chocolate cup cakes or even single cupcakes. There is a reason, well, several reasons that I can point directly at to explain the rise of Publix to the very definition of what a supermarket should and could be here in the southeastern United States. First, Publix has amazing customer service. You are continuously greeted by the employees as you walk through the supermarket. They also will address any question or concern you might have. Customer service is just one thing that sets Publix apart. Another thing is their weekly BOGO (buy one, get on free) deals. Every week they have a slew of great deals. We also cannot forget their subs, affectionately known as pub subs. These are great subs. One of my main go to subs their Italian. I also like their roast beef and cheese. My daughter, who is not a huge sandwich fan, even likes their chicken tenders subs. My son, who does like sandwiches, likes their Italian sub, as well. Kind of weird to realize that some of the best subs come from a supermarket, but Publix definitely delivers. Oh, another thing that I am a fan of is the Publix diet iced tea, available over by the deli section. The deli is also pretty impressive. You can get cakes and whatnot, but I really like their bread and they also have pizza dough do that you can make your own homemade pizza. All in all, Publix is a great supermarket and it is my go to supermarket. If you have been to Publix, I am sure you will understand. If you are not familiar with Publix supermarket, try them once and you will be a fan. Publix has come a long way since they began here in Florida. They have expanded throughout the southeast and continue to grow. As I said, I do recommend Publix, definitely the best supermarket around. read more

Ok.I really wanted to " get over" my annoyance at the idea of self checkouts. I've tried to recognize that times change and so do business strategies and such. So when I am herded into the self checkout lane,to have an employee stand over me like a vulture to ensure I'm doing their job correctly is highly insulting. I will stop buying produce at this store. EVERY time there is at least one item from the produce section ringing up the wrong price. Last time, the cashier left her register to verify prices herself... she came back 5 minutes later and agreed on both items. Today, a bag of organic potatoes was ringing up the regular price and the cashier wanted me to wait until a supervisor came to the register, even thou leg I had a picture of the sale sign. Worst customer service I've ever experienced in a Publix. We ordered subs from the Deli that were due at 8:05. It is 8:33 and we have finally left the store with our food. Bradley and Christian are the most unprofessional individuals I've come across at Publix. They lied to the manager Jessica that they were finishing our sandwiches and then we still waited an extra 20 minutes on 2 half subs because they weren't started in the first place. When they were finally done, they were basically thrown at us. With 4 people working in the deli section you would think that they would be able to execute online orders and walk in orders quickly and efficiently. Jessica was apologetic which did make us feel a little better. Definitely will not be ordering subs from this deli again. read more

My four favorite things about my local Publix, (1) the friendly, helpful staff, (2) the clean, well-lit stores, (3) the lack of prices and signage issues, and (4) the product selection. The staff is always full of smiles and friendly. The staff is also very helpful finding products. However, these things may be expected or typical of good stores. What sets this Publix apart from its peers is handling special requests. For example, my dad wanted a pirate style eye patch because he had eye surgery and bandages aren't suppose to touch or put pressure on his eye; of course, I think he also has secret pirate fantasies. Arrr! Publix didn't have one in stock, but special ordered two for delivery in less than 24 hours - the one I requested and a second just in case something was wrong with one or we decided needed a spare. When I needed potted flowers for table center pieces for an event(multiple times), the florist called four other area stores to see who had them and reserve them for pick-up. They even switched the pot wrapper so the wrappers matched my color scheme. I also especially appreciate the fact that in the rare instance a price doesn't ring up correctly that I am (1) treated with courtesy and respect and (2) Publix gives me the published price. They will even correct if I bring discover the issue at home and bring the receipt back. Another thing I appreciate about Publix include its sense of community. For example, the store donates its day old bread and pastries to the food bank. (Pro-tip): the Publix brand ice tea sold in the deli in gallons and half gallons is decaffeinated even though Publix doesn't advertise this. The unsweetened is also delicious - better than I can make at home. (Pro-tip): three 16oz Publix branded sour creams are cheaper than two 24oz. Yes, I buy lots of sour cream for the food bank's twice month soup kitchen - taco salads. read more

By golly, we Floridians love our Publix subs and we sure can be picky about their construction. I'm a major pain in the ass to please, but my sandwich specialist, Michaelina, wasn't even the tiniest bit annoyed by my fussiness and even encouraged it with a smile. Shout out to Cathey as well for keeping her cool and being so friendly under pressure. Those lines at the deli counter can get downright ugly, but these ladies maintained that high level of customer service that Publix is famous for. read more

I'm writing this review mostly for their bakery. I haven't been to a Publix yet that I wouldn't give 5 stars to, but I used this one for my baby shower and wanted to comment on their bakery. I knew that I wanted an elephant theme with charcoal grey and blues. This lady couldn't have done any better of a job on my cupcakes. I wish I could remember her name. I'm not a big fan of the sandwich counters at Publix in general, but occasionally I visit them. I've been trying to use their online pickup service to have a sandwich made while I'm busy shopping for other items. I have to say it's very convenient, has all of the options, and I appreciate the confirmation and when you can expect to pick up your order. From what I understand, you can even order sliced deli meats and such, but I usually just take a number and shop around for a bit if the line is long. Unfortunately, at this (Loch Leven) location, I tried to order a sandwich before shopping for the rest of the items on my list. It was around 2:30 PM on a Sunday, which was busy, but I certainly didn't expect it to take 30 minutes longer than expected to complete my order. Items that others had ordered were waiting in the pickup area from the time I had entered the store. I'm not complaining about the employees, they seemed busy the entire time, it's not like they were standing around ignoring the ticket they had received. Nor did they apologize for the delay. I'm not sure why they offer a service if it is not managed well enough to deliver, it doesn't seem reliable or convenient enough to me to warrant using, and serves only to avoid providing customer service except to those who are standing in line, watching the employees make the food. read more

Back for my son's 2nd covid vaccination and all employees seemed to have their masks up. Several shoppers with no masks. Heard a red haired older checkout lady who was talking very loudly and at length about her views on abortion to the customers checking out! I was shopping in the area and wanted to get two meals from the prepared food area and it was a mistake. The young lady was new and really tried to help me but nothing went right. She asked two different people to help her and the sloppy meal that they gave me (dumped from one container to another) was awful. I did not get the second meal because of how they treated the first meal and how long it took to get the first one. Publix is my favorite grocery store and this one is particularly good- and the staff are friendly.

First of all, this is not the correct location. The store of loch level landing is the worst Publix I have come across. Today was my 3rd attempt in the past 2 weeks to get a flatbread and they never have them. Customer service counter was no help either as they have very inexperience people working there. The two people at the counter kept snickering and talking with each other as I stood there asking when is the best time to get service at the deli. I am not sure why this particular store is just so below the standards. Their produce have been awful the last couple of months too. Well I'll admit I lied about cutting the cord with Publix especially their deli. I was very unhappy at Loch Leven Landing when I wrote the review but stand by it due to their consistent poor service over the years. Today I decided to try a different Publix and went to the deli at Eustis Village, you could tell right away there was world of difference, the deli looked cleaner, more organized than the Loch Leven. I was greeted the same, but even though other customers were also being waited on someone came and helped me almost immediately. The quality of the service and maturity of the employees was a world of difference. They made me feel like a valued customer. Kudos to Eustis Village Publix. read more

This Publix is so much larger, cleaner and newer than the one closest to my house! I sometimes make a special effort to stop here if I'm in the area. When my home store has ran out or just plain doesn't carry and item I've found it here in Mount Dora. They have a better beer selection too but I still wish they had more local craft beers. Employees are friendly and helpful, as with most Publix stores. The only drawback to shopping here is that being in Lake county they won't take certain coupons. read more

P. Burk said this was a poorly managed Publix and he wanted some improvements. However, he neglected to identify what improvements were necessary. His review was useless to management and to me. I have found that the sale items are available and easily found. The shelves are stocked. The produce is usually fresh. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They ordered an item for me that I love but they don't carry. I appreciate that they provide employment to people that would have difficulty finding jobs including older people. He took a little longer than average to make the sandwich, but you will see why when this guy works his magic. I love this store. The employees go above and beyond to help me. I was there last week and I accidentally dropped my sushi on the floor while checking out. I made a mess. They immediately came and cleaned the mess and the bag person ran to the seafood department to bring me another sushi. Everyone from the cashier to the person who cleaned the mess and especially the fellow who ran to replace the sushi were great. Amazing! Also today I ordered the crab/lobster claw seafood platter and the New England boil and they were able to make that available to me tomorrow at noon. Amazing! The lady who took my order was so nice and friendly. They are the only store around here that has a lobster tank as well. They will steam the lobster for you while you are in the store.
