They sent me away stating that their return policy is 90 days even for defective product: a toilet seat broke after 6 months. "You never end up with old stuff!" There was a 1 year warranty. The company Bemis told me that had I bought the product at the store, she would have had them exchange it. I called today to let them know that; the service desk person would not even listen. Drove all the way to Minocqua for garden supplies only to be treated horribly by Heather at check out who told my friend to "chill out lady" very loudly, very nasty, In front of everyone standing there who is also waiting for some type of service or even attention! She and Renee completely ignored us all and when my friend told her she can't stand there much longer (she's 76 and crippled) she came out from behind the counter to loudly tell her how HER feet hurt and she has problems too! The only one who even tried to help was Wendy And she was out in the greenhouse and not out of till. I ended up claiming the shelves myself to get down the three big pots. And I am 68. Never ever ever going back to that Walmart. What a shit show. We had over $200 in supplies and were treated very poorly. Walmart sucks. read more

First off I'll just say I'm sorry I don't have any pictures of this establishment but I have gone here two times in the past year and I hardly ever get up north. But I was volunteering at the camp American Legion Pl. for veterans that have served along with their families or care support people that they have in their life. What I like about this Walmart is that it's always queen and they are probably like many other places. Short on help. The first time I went there was right after they opened in the morning and there's a lot of stock in the isles, but I was able to find an associate right away and get my answers to my questions defined various items I needed that I forgot to pack. The people that helped me were very professional. They literally would drop with their doing and show me where somethings at or just answer the question. That's for both visits. They have self check out like many Walmarts. They have a representative who is always on the goal in case you're at the self check out and you got a scan a gift card for example were you might need some help there's always somebody there to assist and it's not like you're being an inconvenience. If you have a large cart of items, they have more than a handful of people to help you with the checkout process, which is much appreciated. I did buy some things from the grocery aisle like snacks, and things like that, and some tea and some cases of water but I needed some other things like a pair of earbuds in the wall charger and I got an associate to help me find where that was at in the store. This is a nice location to get a great value. Unfortunately, a lot of the items are out of stock and the shelves are somewhat bare especially in the medication's and eyecare area. They must have some challenges with their national suppliers so it may be out of their control. Overall, a clean store but there is a lot of supply issues. read more

Take your prescriptions elsewhere. If you have to use this pharmacy, call and check and persist because they will lie to you ("we're waiting for the doctor"), and when you pick up your Rx, ask if they submitted it to insurance because they might not. And then if you complain, they tell you "well, you should have checked." No, you should have done your job. We travel all over the country and this is the worst Walmart we've encountered. Poor selection and empty shelves, which cannot be blamed on supply chain because the store in Ironwood is not like this. There is no wifi or even a cell phone signal. We like to split up to do our shopping and keep in touch via text. First store ever where we are unable to do that. We'll go to Ironwood from now on. We have other business in Minocqua but it's just not worth the aggravation anymore. I'd rather go out of our way to avoid this store. read more

What can I say? A Walmart is a Walmart is a Walmart. Cheap products (mostly from China), cheap groceries (mostly unhealthy junk food), and grumpy elderly on motorized scooters. Seriously, I did not know there were at least 5 new flavors of Oreos and at least 10 new varieties of Pringles. An old lady also tried to run me over with her scooter as I was reaching for something off a shelf. No apologies, just an angry glare. The employees here are RUDE. Especially management. Employees give you false information and management backs them up. Their who attitude is "too bad for you". Then they walk off. The incompetence is astounding. Also, many items not priced correctly. They think you're trying to rip them off w hen you ask for the price that was posted on the shelf, even if it is THEIR mistake! Like someone else said, a Walmart is a Walmart...but goodness gracious find some faster checkers. It's hard to find much to complain about considering I can find pretty much anything I'm looking for here, but the service is incredibly slow. The lady we had today dumped half our blueberries, but just voided it instead of getting another one.. but was putting the blueberries that dumped out back into the container. Like, really? Then she didn't know the code for a watermelon so had to ask someone else.. I think the checker next to us got through 3 or 4 people by the time we were done. So just be weary of what line you go through... maybe observe at first hah. read more

After being injured while trying to pull carts apar and being made to promise that I would seek medical attentionI got left with medical bil an no type of compensation. I went into store with the intention to shop for holiday. I could not shop. I began to hurt from injury. This incident sent me into fibromyalgia episode. So much for my holiday shopping. Unless it's early morning or the middle of the night I suggest going anywhere else. This store is awful. Maybe if Walmart staffed more than 2 check outs they wouldn't need 3 people at the door checking for shoplifters. 530 at night and there was one register open. I hate that this is the only option in town for a lot of things. That are usually out of stock anyways. I gave my visit 5 stars and answered a few questions but eventually, the survey was longer than the pharmacy visit. That makes it ridiculous! If you live in Minocqua, and are not part of the country club elite, you shop at Wal-Mart. Pants, shirts, bullets, shells, guns, poles, lures, boots, jigs, snow blowers, lawn mowers, BBQ grills, potted plants, camping supplies, cheap snacks & LP exchange. Add to that, it's the only place in town to get all those things under one roof - and you are bound to end up there eventually. It's not as nice as some larger *super* discount stores, but it is much nicer than MANY other discount stores. It's about what you'd expect for a town this size. Fair service & fair prices. Minocqua lost the battle with Walmart and now has a brand new Supercenter. It's an up north woodsy theme outside and pretty much looks like a Supercenter inside. This area needed a store like this for awhile now. It opened July 16th and I've been there 4 times already. So far the staffing seems to be much improved; hope it comtinues. read more

At first I was most impressed with this store. However, when I went to check out my opinion changed. I went to pay my bill with a Canadian issued US$ credit card. If you are from Canada, don't bother. The software they use would only recognize my CREDIT card as a DEBIT card and insisted on a PIN number. No PIN is needed with my card. I should add that I have used the card at Walmart in many locations in the USA and it the card has never been a problem. It was just this store. Most disappointing was the terrible attitude of the manageresses at the checkout. The cashier was okay, but after ten minutes dealing with one manageress another incompetent manageress spent another ten minutes messing around. The end result was that my card came up with a warning that it would be cancelled if I tried another PIN number. Funny since it doesn't need a PIN. Thanks to the manageresses incompetence, I walked away leaving most of my order. I did take some essentials using the little cash I had on me. So, Canadians.....BE AWARE. read more

This particular Walmart seems to always be out of certain items. Every time I go there for Walmart brand Greek fat free yogurt the shelf is empty, how can that happen, it's their own brand. If it sells out so fast, make room for more on the shelf. Many other items every other Walmart has they are out of. The Walmart in Rhinelander is much better. I have to drive twice the distance to go to Rhinelander, but I do because I know they will not be out of stock. read more

Usually cleaned and well maintained other than that it isn't a pleasant place to shop. The employees are usually cranky but who can blame them since they are overworked and underpaid. The shelves are usually not adequately stocked and the whole building is under staffed. I wanted to get a video game from behind a glass case and had to wait 10 minutes for the employee to arrive that had the key. I would shop somewhere else but there aren't that many options in the north woods. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Unfortunately, this Walmart is the closest to my home (approximately an hour drive) so I used to go here quite often. I can put up with a lot but after this latest display of incompetency, I'm DONE! The stores clerks check out so slow, I'm sure my infant could work faster! The latest was a lost site to store item which was signed for by an associate but the items were conveniently lost after they were signed for. I sat in the pick up area on Saturday at least a half an hour before I was helped and they had nothing to give me. It took calling three different times and speaking with three different people over a six hour time span to find out my order was lost. I now get to tell my young son his Halloween costume isn't going to be ready in time for his party this weekend. From now on, Target is the way to go for this gal. I'll gladly pay more knowing my items will get to me. read more

Shocked mom hasn't jumped on this one, but I think she went straight for the throat of the beast after this experience. Went in to get fishing licenses and the requisite new fishing lure(s) on our last trip up. Waited in an impressive line due to the fact it was 4th of July week. Was getting close when we overheard the guy working that his register would lock him out if he didn't take a break/lunch. Called his manager two or three times, and was blown off each time. The last time he called he told the manager that since he was the only one working he's have to shut down the entire department (middle of summer, 4th of July, this is not good). Judging by his response the manager told him that would be just fine. He finished us, was locked out before we could pay, and he had to shut things down and walk us up to customer service so we could pay for everything. BTW, this guy is a freakin' trooper and deserves a huge raise, he's been working there for at least two or three years now and is evidentally putting up with a whole lot of crap. Five stars for him. The Minocqua store is new which makes it nice to look at, most of the employees who work here stand around with there fingers up there bums and refuse to help, i asked one man to help me find the shoes and he pointed to where they were... I knew where they were i need a certain size of shoe. This man refused to help me and I was very unhappy. i recommend going to the Rhinelander Wal-Mart customer service is way better, even though they are in the middle of a remodel and the store is being torn apart it is still a better place to go... read more

Customer Service? More like Customer Disservice! Most business go out of their way to help out with returns or exchanges, but not this Walmart! Every time I had to go to Customer Service to exchange or return something, it was a nightmare. I get the impression that it's easier for them to be negative than help a person out! i have had the amazing experience of working at this particulart store first hand and am quite sure that my opinion on the whole operation there is skewed, but heres what i think. although attempts to be helpful are frequent during the day at this store, most if not all of the staff is exceptionally useless when i comes to giving genuine service. empty shelves, excessive micro management, and missing sale items plaque the entire store. obiviously understaffed i wonder how a store of its size can prove to be so difficult to maintain. trying to get paint mixed, a live fish bagged, an order of deli meat or anything that is unacheiveable without some sort of help from an employee can prove to be a time consuming experience. all and all the potential of this store is high, with its new location but if management doesnt hire some decent help, it will be a long time before any singel customer will ever leave this store fully satisfied read more
