I stopped in this store a few times when I was home visiting the area. I grew up in the 518, so it's odd to find this place in the spot where the Latham Circle Mall once stood. Have to say, I'm kind of surprised the Town of Colonie Planning Board let this go in as the traffic is now worse around here. I quickly learned to avoid my old travel routes and go under the Latham Circle as this Walmart creates more traffic backup. The store itself opened a year after I moved away. I found that the parking seems to be ample in the lot. The layout of the store worked ok for me, as I tend to usually come for grocery shopping. I've been in a ton of Walmart stores all over the USA and some of them look quite run down. I do realize this store is new, but it still looks clean and well kept up. I was very impressed by the clearance section, it was so neat and organized. Most of the times I browse the clearance aisles in other Walmart stores and they are a disaster. I was here once on the weekend and another time in the early morning on a weekday. I have to say it was great to come here around 8 AM on a Wednesday, nobody was in here. I like that they have a self checkout section, it was fairly quick and painless to get out of here. read more

Another two-part fail. Part 1: I ordered online two different flavored food items. One is easy to find at other stores (chocolate), but one is hard to find (strawberry), so even though Walmart keeps screwing up my orders I had to come here. I waited for my "order ready" email but after a few days it never came so I looked on the website. They had cancelled the strawberry order, but kept the chocolate one was "ready for pick-up". Since I didn't want to go to Walmart just for this, I cancelled the chocolate item too. I am waiting for my refund. Part 2: I needed some Butane for a train project and had to come here because Lowes and Home Depot apparently don't carry it. I ordered it online, and they said they had 5 in stock. My order said "ready for pick-up" so I drove over. When I signed into their Customer Service computer, it pulled up my order and said "Hi Ben...". I started a timer on my watch. After 5 minutes, I asked for help and an associate came over. They couldn't find my order on their computer, even after entering my name and the item number. When I tried to pull it up on the computer again, it said no order existed. Since my computer at home said 5 were in stock, I asked where they would be. I walked over to the camping section to get it and they were all sold out. So I left. When I got home and logged online to cancel my order, it said that I had already picked up my order. After talking with them on the phone, they cannot offer me a refund without first "investigating the situation", and if I am entitled to a refund I will receive it in 10 business days. Post Script: on the way out, I passed the food section and they had the Strawberry items I had originally ordered just sitting on the shelf. I HATE WALMART! read more

As a Walmart its fairly big and there's lots of parking space. It doesn't have it's own mechanic section though so keep that in mind. The staff are not friendly and if you come here to pick up an online order, you're about to have a fun time. You'll be walking around the entire store because all the employees will just tell you to go somewhere else to pick up your items. read more

Would not let me exchange gifts I received without a receipt. Fine. My elderly mother dug the receipt out of the garbage. Brought it and the items back to store a second time. Was told said items were not on the receipt... BS! Could clearly see the item with proper price on the receipt. Was told I couldn't do anything about it. I asked if they could dispose of the item because it wouldn't fit me. She said no so I threw everything in the trash can behind me and left. Ridiculous!!! Also, was told we were given gift receipts but we weren't. My mother was never offered gift receipts and tbh, I've never been offered a gift receipt there either. What a waste!!!! So our experience here was not the best in the world that's for sure. We started off and we noticed that there is no way that they are keeping track of who is entering who is leaving this facility. The people who are sitting at the front of the building with that tablet in their hand are talking back and forth having conversations with everyone else but they are not keeping track of who is entering and leaving the facility. As we went through the store itself we noticed that practically all the shelves are bear. They don't have product on the shelves at all, it's like they're not ordering to restock really any product a lot of stuff is missing and I'm not truly sure why. It's not like they are running out of men's t-shirts or things like that, like we were when there was an issue with toilet paper and hand sanitizer. I could see how there could be trouble keeping that on the Shelf but other things I'm having a little trouble understanding. Finally, after we have retrieved pretty much everything that we could possibly get at that time, we decided that it was time to go. We decided to go to the self-checkout where the employees proceeded to tell us that we can only use credit card in the machine no cash is accepted and there was an annoying high-pitched beeping noise coming from one of the machines and they did absolutely nothing to stop that machine from beeping so it was a very annoying way to end our shopping experience, on top of that the bags to be able to put our grocery in we're not even on the rung so that we could place our Grocery in the bag. So we had to try to fix everything before we could start bagging our grocery meanwhile, The two that were there meaning employees we're just talking and laughing and having a good old time. I am not sure if they're always like this or not or if we just came on a really bad day where employees just don't seem to care but I guess it seems to be that that was our shopping experience today. But based on today's experience I would not recommend going to this facility to this store. But as always I only give you my opinion I always want you to get your own opinions and go to it look at it and draw your own conclusions. Thank you for listening. read more

During Checkout I was accused of being a Thief by an Employee, He said I did not Scan an Item. When he saw I did he spoke in Arabic. A yellow Coat Associate,IAN, came over to inform me everyone is Human. This tall man got so close to my Face in such Anger , I left and went to a Cashier. I notified the Managers and Corperate. After I left,while waiting for My Ride, the Angry IAN came out one entrance walking the entire length of the Store and into the other entrance. I recieved No call back from Corperate. Actually was physically stopped with all of my items I had just paid for seconds ago.. stopped by someone yelling over a larger very cheap (maybe 10 bucks) store brand item next to all my items I had paid for "because it was not bagged". He did not ask to see my receipt he just repeated loudly the name of the item and then physically grabbed my cart and stopped me while I was talking to my girlfriend. I shop here all the time and always pay for 100% of my items and I just found that exceptionally rude so interrupt me and question someone who just came from the register because an item that was too big to bag (because you do not provide large bags for items like this). And of course just the regular level of Walmart customer service.. You know.. Ignore everyone there and just know they'll keep shopping. Hope this helps someone if you're on the fence.. Went to another store (Target) after I left to buy an item I WAS going back to Walmart to get and they greeted me when I walked in, a manager said hi to me and asked me how I was because I'm there as often as Walmart and they even price matched it to beat Walmart's price. Please tell me why a Supercenter never seems to have their grocery shelves stocked with product? When this store was first opened, it was like getting a new store. The shelves were fully stock and, if you could not find something, there was an associate who would go out of their way to assist you. Now, the shelves look as if they are going out of business. How do you not have the dairy section stocked? What do the people who work the overnight shift do? Perhaps the store manager should pay attention and stop walking around texting on his phone. Yes, numerous times I have walked by this man and every time he is texting on his phone! Over in the cosmetic department, I was looking for an item and asked an associate. Her response was "I have no idea" and walked away. I was in total shock. But not all is negative. One of the cashiers I encountered over this past weekend went out of her way to provide exceptional customer service. She was very attentive and was truly a breath of fresh air. The new Latham Walmart is now a "Super Center" which means it has a produce section, a deli and a meat department. I'm giving it a *3 based on comparing it to it's former location but in reality this should be a *2 compared to other Super Centers. It can be accessed from rt. 9 or from rt. 2. There is ample parking and they are open until midnight. Although this location is a huge improvement from it's former location in Latham Farms, it was still a letdown. The women's clothing section was sad. It was fully stocked with size XS, S and XXL t-shirts but nothing in between. The same with shorts. This was confusing since they just opened. And please don't judge. I refuse to spend $40 on a t-shirt I'm only going to wear to get all sweaty in. The same goes for basic socks. Also, the produce department, although large, was missing many key fresh herbs, fruit, vegetables etc. and what they did have was not fresh. Most of the home goods aisles were stocked but some had empty shelves. I realize they just opened but empty shelves are not good. At 10:30pm they only had one checkout open other then the self-scan section. It was the cigarette station. So if someone just wanted a pack of smokes but was in line behind someone like me with a cart full of merchandise, they were sol and had to wait. I was hoping this location would be great since it's convenient to my commute to and from work. However I will continue to go out of my way and shop at either the East Greenbush or Brunswick locations instead of here. Their overall prices are noticeable higher compared to other Walmart locations in the area. Their dairy and meat departments have many items priced higher then exact items sold at Price Chopper or Hannaford. read more

The store does not care about customers with disabilities, and they look the other way when it comes to enforcing rules. People who shop here are mostly conceited younger people, and older folks whose heads are stuck in other ppl's faces. People with disabilities like myself who need mart carts get made fun of and called names. Children play with them and are allowed to do so with staff saying there's nothing they can do about it. I admit, when I go to Walmart I don't exactly go for the customer service. I go for the cheap prices and convenience. This one is about a mile from my house and right on my way to work. The hubby is diabetic so a pharmacy that's easy to get to is important. Food and pharmacy and DVD's and cat food in the same place? Hooray! This Walmart should be the solution to all of our needs! No. I have been in this store enough times to say that as a whole, customer service is not a priority. Like... it's not even in a first draft employee handbook that they wrote and then threw away for the new one that also doesn't mention customer service. I've been to this store over 15 times and two people have been nice to me - TWO! In that many visits! (shout out to assistant manager Tonya who is awesome! She is the ONLY one who was nice to me and showed that she just may like her job - or at least wants to do it well) Other than that, I've literally had more rude behavior from employees in that store than I can even explain. I have asked for help as employees walk by and they blatantly ignore me. I have asked employees for help as they walk by and they acknowledge my request, but then don't stop. Instead they keep walking and wave a general hand in a direction of what I'm asking for. Like that's directions enough. (I feel like I should explain here that I'm not a mind reader). I have been asked to move so employees can straighten the shelves I AM LOOKING AT! I watched two employees talking (NOT work related - they were talking about another employee who apparently nobody likes) while an elderly lady was wheeling down the isle - the two employees didn't even move and she had to wheel around them! WHAT? It's almost like they are looking for rudeness when doing hiring at this store. The absolute worst experience I had was with an employee named Dawn who manages to make it extremely clear on a consistent basis that she not only hates her job but hates humanity. I have worked in customer service my entire life. I admit to being a "customer service snob" and I expect a lot from my employees and from others. If you have a freaking job - earn that paycheck! I don't care if you hate your job, you're getting paid to do something. Do it well, while you look for another job. It's not rocket science. That being said, I get that Walmart stores are the Big Nasty when it comes to warehouses and it's all about quantity, not quality. I have never expected much there - it's not like I'm at Nordstroms and paying for the service. I expect the very very bare minimum - don't roll your eyes at me, don't be condescending, don't ignore me, don't be rude to elderly, don't glare, and if you're asked for help - do your best to help. Or at least give SOME effort to help. We are moving our prescriptions to another place and I will not go to this Walmart again. I'll go to 10 different stores to get the things I need if I have to. The last experience I had seriously made me leave IN TEARS because I was so frustrated and had been treated so badly. The customer service is not good. The customer service compared to other Walmarts needs improvement. If you go up to someone and ask for help finding something they ignore you. The customer service at checkout is so slow. They need to have more registers open late at night and always have the self checkout open all day and night. The staff was helpful and the manager told me he or another manager would call me the next day but never did. I would not recommend this store. Terrible customer service which clearly stems from a lack of training. We have been in multiple times since it has opened. Aside from one great cashier who worked at the smaller one, every associate has been next to useless. I generally don't leave reviews, but this is the worst customer service I have EVER encountered. We go to this location almost every week due to it being close to home and having a young baby. The cashiers are rarely trained properly and this time was no different. We had a coupon for baby formula that the cashier wasn't sure how to run (as a check). She tried waving 3 other employees down who literally shook their heads and kept walking. Finally a manager came over and rudely told the cashier and I that the coupon went through when it didn't. The total was still $283 after it ran. I tried telling her it didn't change and was told she knows what she's doing. I got the receipt, which clearly showed no discount. I tried going to customer service and was told they couldn't help me without the coupon which the cashier put in her register. I told them that and they said they were too busy to get it. Mind you this was also a coupon for their own parents choice brand. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

Don't ever no matter what the reason is to work for walmart especially if your black or a minority i say this for a reason so beware!!! one day i somehow lost my wallet at work and it had my cards and my life that anyone could steal and pretend to be me. another girl lost hers that day also and they found hers but mine somehow they didnt and said there werent cameras there when i know there was they just didnt want to find it because the guy who works ap whose name is corey didnt like me and had something personal against me and is the same one who got me fired from working at a troy Walmart(didnt find this out until i looked into it) so after a couple days to the next week something told me to look at my schedule and i had and some reason all my shifts were 4 hours the same time every weekend which was never my shifts and the day i went in i was stuck at self check my entire 9 hour shift no matter what they kept me down there and so when i had finally gotten off i went to lunch. both ap people (corey and hannah) both kept walking by looking at me and little did i know they had something planned. i went to check what time i had clocked for lunch since i usually only take a half hour and she came up with some big muscle guy and made me get off my lunch early to take me to the ap room to accuse me of stealing $100 which i never stole anything in my life nor stole money from there. i then asked him could i see proof since he was accusing me and all he showed me was a picture of someones arm that wasnt mine and i knew whose it was and told them who most likely stole and he was set to blame me so he kept threatening to take my child away and post my picture everywhere and say i stole when they knew who really did it because others accused her of doing it and they didnt do anything about it. he forced me to sign a paper saying i did it and to pay the money back and me being a woman and a single mother at that i didnt want to get arrested in front of everyone and risk losing my child since he said he'd make sure i would so stupid me signed it, i couldn't call my dad or mom because they made me give them my phone so i was scared and he kept asking me what i did with the money and accused me of using it to get a hair cute and my phone which was 100% false. i then tried to get lawyers to handle it and come to find out they have every law firm in troy and Albany that rep them so you cant sue them even if you wanted to because its a conflict of interest i was told. so this man was allowed to threaten me and talk about my child and me as a mother and i couldn't do anything because i signed that paper. i went to get unemployment and they even screwed me on that. i was denied because they showed them a video of me taking out exactly $100 from my bank card and used that as evidence because they really had none and now im getting threatening letters claiming they can and will sue me if i refuse and dont pay that money. i cant even find a job because they pull up my history and Walmart tells them i stole and not to hire me even if i dont use them as a reference and i only know that when i went to apply at my friends job and hes the hiring manager and he told me thats what Walmart said even though its illegal your suppose to just say you wouldn't rehire them. i googled around and found out others are going through this same thing and its a tactic to get what they lost on inventory every year and even some of my friends that worked with me were accused of the same thing. 6 months ago a kid was accused of the same and even went to court over it and here the woman who really did it came in bragging about her new mk bag and paid her car payment off so what does that tell you? honestly its sad how they are allowed to do this to people and still keep their jobs. even worse when a csm by the name of ty over rides her wives items and puts cheaper prices that really arent there and thats okay but yet accuse innocent people of stealing and you never go after the real ones who do smh . read more

The worse customer service I have ever experienced. Very rude older women working as a cashier. she made extreme rude comments to me. I have complained about her before when I shopped at the store to a young male manager (, I see an x employee has also complained on this site about this young male supervisor who accused her of stealing) well let me tell you , I believe what this x employee had to say because of the experience I had with the same male supervisor when I complained about the rude cashier, he basically told me if I don't like it , then don't shop here. I have also seen many employees work very hard while others sit and talk. It does not seem to matter if their customers are being serviced. Today when the same women who was rude to me in the past was rude to me again I went to customer service to complain, The line was so long that I decided to call and complain to a manager instead, I spoke to a young lady who claims she was the supervisor, well no help was she. She gave me every excuse she could not to handle the situation. She stated well you came at a bad time, we are busy this time of the year, their are employees who called in sick and the list went on. She told me maybe if you want call the 1800 Walmart number and maybe they can help, or call tomorrow. I also mentioned to her that I was disabled and their was no riding carts in the store to use but they where all over the parking lot. I also told her how I almost fell , she did not to seem to care at all. I gave this experience a one star but it should be a minus 10 star. read more
