How can it be eight years since I wrote my last review for Crestwood Pharmacy? And how can it be…read morethat in all of that time there hasn't been a single other review of the place? One reason is likely that the pharmacy's clientele seem to be an elderly population who live in the neighborhood. But could it also have something to do with my initial tentative review? At the time I praised the business for being one of the only independent pharmacies in the area. But I didn't have a lot more to say. Now Crestwood has been my family pharmacy for almost a decade, and I wouldn't dream of going any place else. Perhaps if it weren't for our sabbatical year in Princeton, I might not realize just how good we have it with this local independent operator. But while in New Jersey, I got to experience what it's like to fill prescriptions at a chain pharmacy. In a word, it was dreadful. And Crestwood was one of the things I missed about life in Albany. Not too long ago, the schools were having a lice epidemic, and my kids got the bugs. There was a local shortage of the prescription treatment, and Crestwood was out. But Jay helped me track some down by calling around to the chain pharmacies in the area. That's service that cares. And while some businesses might be reluctant to send you to their direct competitors, this move solidified my loyalty to Crestwood even further. Yes, I have to drive past several other pharmacies to get there. But I'm happy to do it. Independent pharmacies are a rare and precious thing. I hope this one keeps the faith and never sells out.

And they always have the script ready within about 15 to 20 minutes of getting it written. I had to go to the Urgent Care across the parking lot a few times (thanks pneumonia) this past winter, and they'd have everything ready by the time I walked over there. Maybe I had to wait a minute or two if they were busy. The other day I walked in and the lady behind the counter waved and said hi. On my way out the guy told me to have a good one, and I admonished him to do the same! So, at least in my experience, the service is fast and friendly. The pharmacists are especially kind despite the treatment they get all day.

Why go to chain pharmacies when we have an awesome independent one right here in downtown Albany?…read moreYou're nobody at CVS or Walgreens but at Lincoln Pharmacy, they get to know you by name and offer quality, personalized service. Sadly, I have to deal with one of those 'online' pharmacies for my long-term prescriptions. But for everything else, including my pups' Rxs, I go to Lincoln Pharmacy. At Lincoln, they actually answer their phones. They call you back when they have questions or updates. They treat you like a real person. That's the kind of service that's lacking from so many other pharmacies. If you want to feel like your health actually matters, go to Lincoln Pharmacy.

I think they hike the prices extra because this pharmacy is located in Delmar and they assume everyone has money. So our experience here was not the best in the world that's for sure. We started off and we noticed…read morethat there is no way that they are keeping track of who is entering who is leaving this facility. The people who are sitting at the front of the building with that tablet in their hand are talking back and forth having conversations with everyone else but they are not keeping track of who is entering and leaving the facility. As we went through the store itself we noticed that practically all the shelves are bear. They don't have product on the shelves at all, it's like they're not ordering to restock really any product a lot of stuff is missing and I'm not truly sure why. It's not like they are running out of men's t-shirts or things like that, like we were when there was an issue with toilet paper and hand sanitizer. I could see how there could be trouble keeping that on the Shelf but other things I'm having a little trouble understanding. Finally, after we have retrieved pretty much everything that we could possibly get at that time, we decided that it was time to go. We decided to go to the self-checkout where the employees proceeded to tell us that we can only use credit card in the machine no cash is accepted and there was an annoying high-pitched beeping noise coming from one of the machines and they did absolutely nothing to stop that machine from beeping so it was a very annoying way to end our shopping experience, on top of that the bags to be able to put our grocery in we're not even on the rung so that we could place our Grocery in the bag. So we had to try to fix everything before we could start bagging our grocery meanwhile, The two that were there meaning employees we're just talking and laughing and having a good old time. I am not sure if they're always like this or not or if we just came on a really bad day where employees just don't seem to care but I guess it seems to be that that was our shopping experience today. But based on today's experience I would not recommend going to this facility to this store. But as always I only give you my opinion I always want you to get your own opinions and go to it look at it and draw your own conclusions. Thank you for listening.
