This Supercenter was great, as we found a specific item that we have been looking for, in full stock! Other Walmart locations didn't have them, but we had heard that this particular location had a great variety as well as being well-stocked. I just wished that the items were delivered and/or shelved carefully, as most of the boxes were somewhat damaged/crushed. I am new to King George and while I wish there were more options here for grocery shopping, I have to say that the employees are SO friendly and nice! Even the people stocking the shelves and doing shopping for delivery orders will greet you and and wish you a nice day! The store is very clean as well, which is important to me. I'm taking off one star because their inventory of healthy frozen dinners is minimal and their frozen vegetable selection is abysmal. If you want soda or artificial "juice" drinks, you have two aisles of options, but good luck finding the frozen vegetables you were looking for! read more

Don't do online orders. They replace your items with things you wouldn't even buy or eat or drink and don't even ask. Most of the time we don't even get half our groceries that we buy and we've been wasting a lot of money because of it and I ordered groceries last night that we're supposed to be by 9 am but it's after 1pm and still no groceries and nobody will answer the phone. read more

This is the closest Walmart to the naval base. It's well stocked and they have a pretty good produce section (organic and locally grown options available). I come here regularly because I live in the area. My only complaint would have been the customer service. However, with the self checkout lines, you can zip though the store pretty quickly. TIP: Wal-Mart has pretty good doughnuts! Especially if you arrive in the morning, after they put out the ones freshly made. I would actually recommend them over the Dunkin Doughnuts, which is a 3 minute drive away, based on the quality and price point. They're soft/fluffy and my personal favorite is the chocolate glazed! read more

Well this Walmart is one of the nicest, cleanest and well stocked store I have ever visited. Aand most of the associates they really make the effort to help you. But stay away from Customer Service Desk, aways they show a negative attitude toward customers and they act like they own this store. It looks like they motto is not to help anybody and keep a really miserable expression in their faces. I went to do a simple transaction and just because the lady didn't want to help me she just refused to do it. Even there is no policy that would support her decision She decided that "No can't do" answer was easy than actually taking care of it or maybe she didn't want to work. This Walmart is well stocked and has almost anything you need. Staff are friendly. The parking lot is the only thing that will need tending to. Lots of trash and random food that has been left or thrown onto the parking spots. It makes it look very unkempt. Maybe they will clean up soon, but I had to watch my step on the way in. read more

I just left the ER and had to come get my medication...I received a text stating my prescription is ready. I get there and the tech entered my info numerous times and I'm like idgaf because I know my prescription is ready otherwise I wouldn't have been notified. Annoyed and in pain from my procedure, I ask if the address I have is correct, which should, because there's only one in the area...she brings a business card...ummm duh! You work here, you should know your address and I know I'm at the right location. Find my medicine so I can go. Finally she figured it out; anyway. You should only have competent people at the register; the rest should be inputting prescriptions, filling, or stocking. I was a pharmacy technician in Atlanta and that's just ridiculous. read more

Very poor customer service. I tried to buy a simple BB rifle and it was in a locked case. I asked the cashier in that section if he could unlock the case and get the rifle. He was preoccupied with playing with some fishing rods and did like being bothered to do his job. He just said that he could not help, because everyone was in a meeting. I went in just after midnight, only one register was open with eight people in line when I said something to an employee about opening another register they said not at this time of night. There were no self checkout lanes open, and i only needed two items wasn't willing to stand in a line for such a small trip. Always shop here. But had third concern in less than 6 months today. Was shopping with my 3 year old child and we had finished shopping so went to self checkout, lanes were full. At check out worker came over ( went through bags saying missed an item) pointed on screen and tags showing that was wrong. Another worker came in to relieve that worker they exchanged words. I got watched and finally expressed my frustration esp when I clearly had not missed anything in scanning. Finished up and went to customer over an overpayment to my debit on a transaction a customer service did two weeks ago putting too much money on my card and after numerous contacts at bank and them saying Wal-Mart should catch their mistake in reconciling their records but since so much time had gone by tell Wal-Mart about the issue . so after talking with managers about this we proceeded to leave and we came to the check out area the clerk from earlier was there with a cart and no work vest on and talking with the clerk that had relieved her earlier. They pointed me out as I passed the clerk who had questioned my purchases she said there she is I was going to.... She came up behind me and said I'm off the clock you called me a ..... I said not professional and tried to get her to stop which she didn't so I hollered for managers walking in the area ( same ones I spoke to before t customer service) she kept saying was off the clock..one manager spoke to her and she clearly acted as no one was going to do anything to her..one manager told her to go on out... I expressed concerns how it was not right what she did and they said she was off nothing they could do. Concerned after her actions , she said she was off the clock and could say or do anything she wanted, asked they walk us out to car. Got home called back spoke to both managers and that both clerks contributed to how I was treated. The second manager when I asked for his name and the clerks name said hold on...put me on hold then a new manager who just came on shift came on I asked about precious manager then he said he was leaving. I got the run around and constant asking for my name but nothing given to me about those involved in what went on. When the girl acted as she did there were many customers in the store. It created anxiety and was humiliating. I never said anything to the clerk earlier to justify her actions and the second clerk misconstrued what she said i told her creating the situation. CLEARLY the first clerk felt if she was off duty she was ok to confront a customer and say or do anything. But on top of it was the lack of action about her by the managers. read more

I'm a 69-year-old lady with chronic Atrial fibrillation who does all my shopping at the Walmart King George Va. location on a weekly basis. In order to do that I drive 20 miles to get there. On February 9th I was tired feeling bad because of the weather and the Afib. I finished my shopping and was checking out to be treated in the worst possible way I can imagine. First the cashier said my receipt had torn in half coming out of the register and didn't have the scan code on the bottom, so she tried for 5-10 minutes to redo it without any success. Then she went over to the customer service and stood there trying to get them to redo it with management involved but they said it wasn't coming up and they would have to recheck the items and do a new receipt. Well, I had already used my Debit card with their cashier and because my Social Security check doesn't get deposited until Wednesday Feb 12, 2020. I did not have extra funds to cover them rechecking my items and charging it again. The manager said the original will go away to tonight, but it was on my debit card then and I didn't have the extra money until that one cleared to redo it. Overall, I spent about 35 minutes listening to all the Bull from the store employees without any results with this being THEIR MISTAKE. So, I had to leave the store without my grocery's and drive 20 miles back home with nothing. I cannot a believe a store would be allowed to do something like this to a senior citizen with health issues. My purchase on my debit card was for the next 2 weeks for food and household items so now I'm sitting at home having to wait for this to clear in order to buy my food to eat. I just really think there should be some type of apology for causing me to have to go through all this today because of the stores problems. I have contacted Walmart Cooperate and they notified the local store and they were suppose to respond within 3 days. It is now March 1, 2020 and Nothing has happened and all I asked for was an apology from the store. read more

The Walmart at the King George Gateway shopping center had their grand opening today and we stopped in to take a look around. I gave it five stars because the store was very neatly laid out, easy to navigate, and well stocked. Of course, today being the grand opening, that was a given, it'll be interesting to see how they do once they settle in. I first perused the grocery section which had all the essentials and all the food looked great. I picked up some baby food that I normally pay about 12 cents more for elsewhere. Also some grapes, bagged baby spinach, and hummus all of which i pay a little more for anywhere else. They offer some hot food such as chicken wings and pizza by the slice for 1.50 as well as rotisserie chicken for less than $5 - which is cheaper than anywhere else hands down. They had all the other essentials got some baby clothes, keurig K-cups (very small selection that I could find), as well as a Subway for "fast food". The employees were nice, helpful and I must say I don't have anything bad to say about Walmart on its first day :) I am a Target girl at heart and refused to ever step foot in a Walmart but living in Colonial Beach has left me no other option and I'm happy to say that I won't dread going back. read more

So, I'm not sure if it's a brand-wide policy of Walmart, but heaven forbid anyone needing to do anything productive during the wee hours....like, put up a ceiling fan because you can't sleep and you don't have to work the next day, for example. If that's the case, this place absolutely sucks. I actually ended up waiting in the 'Sports & Leisure' section of the store for 17 minutes (after the department manager was notified I needed assistance), only to be approached by someone the manager sent to apologize to me and inform me that because I was looking to purchase a 'weapon' (Leatherman multi-tool), I'd have to come back at 7a. Wait, what? You can't get decent customer service at a place that's open '24 hours' after going out of your way to drive 12 miles to GET to this place without having a department refuse to sell you something because you're branded an intentional criminal even before they make you wait 17 minutes to tell you that?! WITHOUT a sign or posting that informs you of that beforehand? Nahhhh.....c'mon, Walmart. Seriously. If I needed to pay for a $75 weapon, I'm already out of my mind. Newsflash, I don't need to wait until 7a to drive to a different county and spend almost $100 for a weapon----I can simply walk into the kitchen and grab one, geniuses. read more
