The store was crowded and so many of the things I came for were out of stock. My fault entirely for being so last minute but also I'm out of town, so I was unprepared. I stopped at the meat counter hoping to find more smoked turkey and spoke to the young lady there, found another clerk along the way searching for black eyed peas, and also our cashier...ALL were so pleasant during such a busy and chaotic time when they could have been home with their families. No one brushed me off, they attempted to help, and directed me where I needed to go. The shoppers were even really pleasant. One older gentleman found my daughter in line and off loaded 2 bags of black eyed peas on her because the shelves were bare! We had been searching for them simultaneously. Then the gentleman behind us in line gave her his customer # for the coupon savings. It really gave holiday cheer another meaning. I don't know the last time I've had such a pleasant experience last minute grocery shopping. Thank you Safeway for employing top tier staff!
