Walmart delivery out of the La Plata store was a complete waste of time. They delayed my TV delivery multiple times with zero explanation and then basically shrugged and offered cancellation. I canceled, drove to the store, and picked up the TV immediately--so it wasn't out of stock. This was poor communication and even worse customer service. The experience inside the store was very indicative of how this store is ran. Pure chaos at the registers with lines bleeding into the aisles and exiting the store for the receipt check is like a line at six flags. If I could give less than 1 star I would! Went to the LaPlata MD Walmart this past Friday evening 10-18-24 to take my elderly disabled mother grocery shopping. I am a 61 year old partially disabled woman myself so shopping for us is a very difficult task. We were in the checkout line and I was able to finish checkout but then my mother who was just behind in checkout was told by the manager? that they were now closed and she had to leave the store without checking out "because they needed to go home". I attempted to help my mother at this point saying she was with me and trying to explain the situation, but we were told by the man to take her items to self-checkout. We were checking out there when the manager then said we'd better hurry or he'd have to "call the County". Few minutes later three County Sheriffs indeed showed up for my 81 year old disabled mother trying desperately to checkout her basket of food!! The sheriffs asked the manager why don't you just let her finish checking out or help, to which he replied again "because we need to go home"! The sheriffs were good enough to stand there while I finally got my mother checked out and we left the store. This was the most surreal situation I've ever faced in a store not to mention what a waste of of law enforcement's time! Management here should be ashamed. Lived here all out lives just to begin facing this attitude. read more

I have been a customer for LaPlata, Walmart Auto for approximately 3 years or more and it has had its ups and downs. I received my normal oil change in April of this year, and due to some medical issue, I was unable to consistently drive my car. I later discovered that during my last oil change the technician neglected in putting the screws in the weather guard, and used some type of adhesive to hold the weather guard to the vehicle. Today I went to Walmart La Plata Auto and informed them of the situation, and was informed by store manager Mr. Robinson (who was very non-communicative and when I was initially introduced to him told he was not the manager). I was informed by Manager Robinson that I must have hit something to pull the weather guard down. Negate the fact no screws were attached but the adhesive to temporarily hold the weather guard to the vehicle. The service and the reasoning for weather guard to drag was not accurate. I received no compensation and the service as usual BAD! This is definitely my last time patronizing LaPlata, Waldorf Auto Service. read more

I called( got transferred) to the sports dep because I'm looking for something that they might have. The time is at 11:17 AM a man that has an accent answered and I asked him a question if they do a price match and he said yes but they can seek something hat was on display. I asked if I can talked to a manager so he changed his voice but unsuccessful doing it and he goes " Thjs is the manager" he sounded the same. So I told him please I would like to speak to a manager. He put me on hold and never got back to me. I just hanged up and called but he keeps on hanging up. So I was able to talk to Cindy (a real manager) and she was nice enough to find out what was going on but another wrong information was given to me but the MANAGER POSER! Went here today to return a item I've purchase, didn't have my receipt. However the customer service wouldn't return it not even for store credit. The item I bought was a air mattress that lasted one week before deflating on its own, I'm extremely passed off and I will be taking this matter further. Even the CSM didn't know what to do, if u going to have a policy like that, it needs to be posted so your customers will be able to see it, instead of a cashier letting u know because they don't want to do their job. I was going down the isle with a cart and the employee that stand a and directs people to different lines "seriously that's her job?!" Was helping someone with a cart full of items. Right in front of her several elderly people were backed up in their line. I said excuse me so I could get past them. The employee snapped and said dont worry, those people don't have any patience! Those people??? It was just me!! What did she mean by that! She was very rude!! And why was everyone backed up in front of her and no where else in the store. Isn't that her job?? This Walmart has gone downhill so much. It's a shame because when this Walmart opened up it was nice and clean organized friendly customer service I was in there day before yesterday this store is trashy dirty cluttered not just the inside but the outside. No shopping carts hardly in the store they're all out in the parking lot in in the Corrals I just was so disappointed I had thought about going across the bridge into King George because that Walmart is always in Tip-Top shape clean great customer service not a bunch of cluttered stuff left everywhere . This is about the 6th time I bought something from Walmart and when I got home I discovered it had been sold previously to someone else, returned to the store and put back on the shelf with missing parts or broken. It's an inconvenience to the customer and very annoying when they have to take another trip back to the store, stand in line to return the item and then shop for a new one and stand in line again to pay! I bought three mini blinds and discovered when I got home, the hardware was missing and they had scratch marks from the brackets and the hand wand was missing from two of them. They really need to do a better inspection of the merchandise before taping the box up and putting it back on the shelf. read more

Superb customer service! I was looking for a particularly popular item recently and couldn't find it ANYWHERE. While I love technology - I'm as skeptical as the next person of it (particularly since store inventories are only as good as someone using the scanner thingy) so when I saw the web site said this store had it - I picked up the phone just to make sure they did before driving 2 hrs to get it. The friendly person I spoke with assured me it was in stock and when I finally got to the store he'd left a note for the people covering that department that I was on my way for the item. I'm not sure I'll be back out this way anytime soon - but I appreciate the excellent customer service I received and that the store was very neat and orderly (unlike many of the ones closer to me). read more

Horrible customer service. I sat on hold for over 40 min waiting to know if they had an item in stock. I even did my homework and had a sku number/item number. She told me to just hold. After waiting I called off my house phone the other woman's response was "oh wow, she never came back to tell you?!?!" I then told her it's now approaching 46 min of holding and my patience is wearing extremely thin. This second woman quickly gave me an answer. How does this happen ?? It's Wal-Mart. It's the best Wal-Mart in the area, however. The people are friendly whenever I'm there, and when I order only for pickup, my order is usually ready within an hour. This Walmart is decent. Best advice is to get there early on a Sunday or later on a Friday evening. Weekdays between 8-5pm are good times to go as well. Other than that, this Wal-Mart is usually packed on the weekends as expected. read more

Their automotive center is outstanding. I always use them for oil changes because I can trust that they will get the job done right. I took my car to the Waldorf Mr. Tire several years ago and a new employee crushed my oil pan when he lifted it up. The thing I love about the La Plata Maryland Walmart service center is they never lift your car to change your oil. They have a underground service pit that allows them easy access to drain your oil from below. I've used them for years and they've never let me or my family down. The staff is friendly and they are always happy to help answer your questions. I've even bought tires from them online and had them install them at the store. The prices are very competitive and I'm happy to report that I've known their service manager for years and he and his crew are outstanding in my opinion. Even when your tire has a blow out and you've purchased the road hazard protection, it is easy to get your tire replaced without any hassles. Even the online site stores prior tire purchases so it makes it easy to reorder the exact tire you need should you have problems. I don't trust other companies in my area to service my cars. If there is a problem the Walmart automotive staff is there to help you. Just tell ask them. If there isn't something you like just tell them. It's that simple. read more

This is the second time I've gone to this Walmart for a simple oil change and have been told that they could not do the oil change because the odometer was not lit up at the time they pulled the car in. I'm not quite certain why Walmart has an auto center. But sadly they had a great deal on tires and we purchased them. I come back to get a tire fixed as i had hit a nail. They said my car will be ready in less than one hour. This was at 8:05 am. It is now 12:35 and my car hasn't even made it into the bay to get the tire repaired. I sat at the bay door for 15 minutes before i went inside the store to get assisted only to be told i needed to wait in my car for the greeter. I replied I've been here 15 minutes how long before a GREETER whose only job is to stand outside and collect information will be out side. Oddly enough it was the service manager greeting. The service manager lady is clueless, yells a lot, doesn't know how to use the check in mobile device. Two times I've been here she's running back and forth to her workers who should be you know "working on our vehicles" to help her check customers in. Chomping on her gum like she hasn't ate in weeks. You know i have all day to wait but i would have arranged a ride this morning to go home and come back but who knew one hour is now 4 plus hours I'm still sitting here and the car hasn't even been touched. I'm very very perplexed at the situation. Side note i called the store yesterday to make an appointment and the phone rang for 23 minutes before someone picked it up. Wow. read more

This Walmart is spectacular in that it is unlike any other Walmart I've ever been in. Most Walmart stores are valuable because they have just about anything you can need. The reason you go to Walmart is because no matter what you need, they probably have it. I have been to this Walmart a few times since moving to the area, and have left every time not finding what I needed. Once, I simply needed a gallon tea pitcher. Surely, they would carry this very basic item. Nope. Went to the Giant grocery store down the road and they had it however. Another time I needed a dish drying rack. Nope Preemie baby clothes. Nope. Spinach artichoke dip? Nope (they actually carry this item but it was out of stock 3 days in a row). Thankfully, I can get most of what I need through Amazon Prime for cheaper and with better options. I'm just not sure why this Walmart exists. If it's not a Super Walmart, it's a waste of space. read more

Ordered two electronic items online.Was sent an e-mail 3 days later to come pick them up at the Laplata store.Waited in line 15 min.s then was told there was nothing in my name.In fact the order number did not exist. Cancelled the order and ordered from Best Buy. Picked items up the same days within hours. A few days later my bank notified me that Walmart was trying to charge my account for this order that did not exist. These were not cheap. My girlfriend ordered two items online and was sent an e-mail to pick them up at the Laplata Walmart. When walking in to the store she saw a person leaving the store with a box with her name on it. She asked this person if they had the same name as her,they said no. After talking they gave her the items which were hers !
