Walmart has gone downhill so much these past few years. I was in the Johnstown Walmart, and I got cash back on the self check. I wanted change instead of a $20, and I asked the lady watching the registers to break the $20. She has her CSM come over, open the drawer, and as the drawer was open she tells her "we're not supposed to give change" so the lady closes the drawer. How difficult is it to give change when the drawer was already open? So o had to wait for them to reopen the drawer. I don't under why they both had to make a big deal About breaking a $20. Walmart is the absolute worst for customer service. They do not care about their employees or their customers. As I was leaving she said in a sarcastic tone "1800walmart" . read more

Trying to be sneaky are you Walmart. You didn't move nor did you renovate. All you did was add "Supercenter" to your title here. That won't up your ratings by doing so. http://www.yelp.com/biz/walmart-johnstown That's the original page with the original posting of review for this "moved" spot. read more

A Wal-Mart is a Wal-Mart; not necessarily so at the Johnstown Wal-Mart. I have an astute, but cynical, buddy who claims that some chain stores ship their garbage to Johnstown in order to get rid of it because they say Johnstowners will buy anything. I only thought his observation was amusing until I suffered the truth of it in the produce offered at the Johnstown Wal-mart compared to what is sold at other Wal-Marts. I'm not talking about an isolated occurrence, I'm talking about identical produce items bought at Wal-Mart stores in Blairsville, Greensburg, Monroeville and Ross Township consistently being FAR superior to the dreck sold in Johnstown. In fact, I've come to look forward to my trips to the Burgh because I will be able to buy respectable quality produce at any of the Wal-marts I happen to find along the way. As a recent example, I bought romaine that was as good as it gets and jalapenos which were absolutely beautiful and perfect at the Greensburg Wal-mart. The jalapenos were so good, they begged to be pickled, so the next day, I went to the Johnstown Wal-Mart to buy more of the same - I was insulted by the produce I found there. The peppers were all soft and shriveled and the romaine was so bad it was slimy with rot. I pointed out these wretched goods to a "manager" who happened to be near by shooting the breeze with her pals. She summoned up the requisite apology, but I'm sure that was as far as my complaint went. You will always find low quality, about-to-go-bad produce at the Johnstown Wal-Mart. If that is what you like, go for it. But, if you feel Wal-Mart thinks little of us (i.e., Johnstowners) to offer such inferior goods, I say screw them. Anything you find at Wal-Mart, except maybe 100 lb. bags of Ol' Roy dog food, can still be found at local merchants who have respect for their customers. read more

We all know what Walmart is. The prices are good. This particular Walmart has a McD's inside, and a bank etc. It's a "supercenter" for sure. The prepared food near the front of the store is rarely fresh, and the produce is often a swarm of gnats etc. Some basic things aren't being attended to, so I had to knock off a couple stars because I've been to much better Walmart stores, cleaner, etc... However, the selection is good, stocks are kept up, and it's easy to get in and out of. read more

They usually have everything you need, BUT don't expect to get in and out. This place is Way too BUSY!! The parking lot set up is the WORST set up EVER!! People just walk right out in front of you without looking. I try to avoid this place at all cost.... It's an instant bad mood just turning into the parking lot. I would rather pay a few extra bucks and get my stuff elsewhere! Please bring TARGET to our area. read more

where do i start... i made a purchase via black Friday promo 11.22 today 11.23 during my lunch i went to pick up the item. 5972114-795293. I parked in the correct Black Friday spot and called the given number. The number is not in service and the message I get is that there is no voicemail set up. I check in via the app but I am in space 58 and it will not allow me to choose 2 digit number only a number 1-9 and letters A-F so i call the store. I am told that someone will be out with my item. I wait 20 mins more and no1 comes out so i call customer service number and I am on hold for 20 mins as they try to contact the store but can not get through. Now I have been waiting for 40 mins and finally after going back and forth with the agent he transfers me to the pharmacy just to screw me over and to get me off the phone. So i call customer service back again. I speak to a lady who tries and tries to call the store and can not contact them. I beg to speak with a manager and I am told one will call me back.... still no call back from them. My app keeps buzzing saying I am there to pick up my item when I am no longer there bc I had to go back to work. I look again and my item is no longer in my items. I get an email saying my order is now canceled. I call costumer service back again and beg to speak with a manager. I am told a manager will not talk to me bc they are too busy with the holiday and they are short staffed. Diego than hangs up on me. I can not believe this is the costumer service you have at a big company like Walmart. This is totally unbelievable. read more

I have been in Johnstown for two years. This is one of the worst Walmart's I have ever been too. If you buy clothing and wash it once it starts to fall apart. I only shop here now for food no clothing or electronics anymore. Nothing doesn't last and they cost more than most stores in the mall for jeans. For the price they wanted for jeans there I was able to go the mall and get two pairs that were higher end for the price they wanted for one pair at Walmart. Plus, why does all their shirts have holes ? Like I see dressy clothes I walk over to them and there was holes in the shoulder area. I can see for some people but not everyone likes that look especially for nice clothes that you could wear to work. I was over by the chicken one day and ether was two men sitting on the ledge where the chicken was. I waited was thinking they would leave instead they stood there laughing at me to my face than they finally walked off laughing like what the hell was so funny? I approached the store manager one time as well and she was smart mouth with me for asking her a question because she was doing her rounds and I bothered her apparently. Walmart also got rid of there dress codes I get so sick of going in there and someone with blue hair cat hair on them and ratty hair and then run when they see a customer coming their way to ask them a question. Why train them when they do what they want anyways. I so can;t wait to move out of this area very trashy place. Walmart needs to hire friendly people and get back their dress codes. I like approaching workers with a little class, jeez NO more Walmart for me. I am taking my grocery shopping elsewhere. read more

This is the worst Walmart I've been to. It isn't organized in a way that makes sense like the others, and its generally WAY too busy. All in all, the prices are good, but I try to avoid this particular Walmart. read more

Really, Wal-Mart needs reviewing. LOL seriously tho, they just did some moving around of items and got rid of a bunch of things I found myself roaming around looking in various isles hoping to find them. Local Snyder's of Berlin bbq or plain potato chips are no where to be found! They stopped carrying some local cheeses & eggs as well. The parking lot layout needs redesigned. Needless to say I don't shop at Wal-Mart as often as I use to, since they can't even carry - support local(ish) businesses by continuing to carry their products. read more

If you want to buy cheap trash, this is the place to go! I stopped going to all Walmart's because of this store. At times you might be lucky and find some one that actually knows something about an item in the area they work in. Anything ive got from this store in the past is all in the landfill now, its cheap junk and dont last very long. Management is incompetent and know nothing as well, there only there to treat there workers like trash. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere other than any Walmart on the planet. Just keep far from this place, you'll thank yourself later. read more

Had to go to Hellmart for several items . Razors and an allergy medication that had security tags on them so I had to go through a regular line and not self checkout . Enter Bob, the cashier who took his sweet old time scanning maybe 15-20 items . Literally 20 minutes until he's finished . It must be a new sick game this store plays on you. They have to tell these people to go as slow as humanly possible to piss you off. Scanning groceries isn't rocket science . So finally after Bob is done I look at my receipt and of course he's double rung several items . I then have the joy of waiting in the forever long customer service line to get it corrected . I'd rather pay a few extra dollars anywhere else than have to go through the hell of waiting in line again . read more

Middle of winter and they said they do not have any waterproof gloves for children. I would prefer to never shop there.

I sent my father to Walmart to get some gripe water for my fussy baby. He went to the pharmacy dept and found an employee and asked for help in finding it. Employee responded " grape water, never heard of it...check pediatrics". Father goes to baby dept and couldn't find it. He does find an employee who says " I don't know what that is; maybe you should just find another employee to ask". Father found another store instead. Giant Eagle. No issues there. Found it right away and very helpful employees. Do better Walmart. No excuses for bad customer service. read more

Im sorry. This is a tough review. We've all been to a WalMart. We know they have everything we need from building a house to frying a Sunday morning omelette. That is standard This is a review of the people who frequent this establishment. Incorrigible is a word that comes to mind. Rude. Hateful. A couple others I mean even the parking lot is a death pitt. I feel like a human version of Frogger. People speed in narrow crossways. And i swear they try to hit you in search of the closest parking space. Ignoring all pedestrian cross ways!! Inside the people are banging into you with carts on a mission to run you over. Most yell at you in a language im pretttty sure isnt English. Then you have the pajamas dwellers and those who appear to have forgotten articles of clothing. I mean do these people possess mirrors That being said. I find myself here once a week. I guesss the risk of life is worth the convenience read more

This place gives me an instant anxiety attack. I stay away as much as possible. Everyone there was born in a barn or exposed to radiation or lead paint. Rude employees. This is one of the worst Walmart's in the area. The only time it's not busy is 9 in the evening. The shelves are hardly stocked, and the aisles are usually a mess. Worst store I've ever been! The parking lot is a huge trash field. The inside is just as filthy with bare shelves that are never stocked! Do yourself a favor and drive to somerset Walmart. Since this is the ONLY Walmart to shop at in Johnstown, I have no other options. It is an extremely busy store with not enough stock. I like to shop in the evenings after work, but the stock is so badly depleted by then, it's hard to find everything on my list. They've taken a lot of local products out of the store...this makes me sad. Also, it really needs a good cleaning...the bathrooms, shelving and the floors are not the greatest. I realize that it's Walmart, but I've been in other ones and they've been much neater and stocked way better, read more

I needed an oil change, arrived around 1230. Lunch hour for employees & I knew there might be a bit of a wait. But, 2 hours and 40 minutes!?! There may have been 3 or 4 vehicles in the parking lot & there was one in a service bay being worked on. I was told they had others ahead of me but there were only 2 guys working. I won't even go into the debacle with tires. Don't buy them here! That's all I'm going to say!! You probably wouldn't anyway because there's never anybody available to wait on you!! I do have a good story about Joanne in produce. For some reason, there was not a stalk of celery to be had in this area the day before Easter. I called before heading to Somerset & our Walmart had only what was in the bins and none to restock. Joanne set aside 2 for me and had it ready for pick-up. I hope she is given some praise for her kindness and providing outstanding customer service. As far as the rest of Johnstown Walmart, it is a mess! The parking lots are not safe for drivers or pedestrians. It is a constant bottleneck. Merchandise is crammed on racks, things are helter-skelter, lying on the floor, The clothing looks cheap, trashy. Nobody with a sense of style would wear it. The bigwigs forget that many women of a certain age are classy trend setters. And, we carry platinum cards! The upside is jobs and that is great. However, A-M-A-Z-O-N spells ominous changes for retail!! Poor customer service, shoddy merchandise and dirty, unkempt buildings just aren't going to cut it!! On Dec,2, 2018 I drove 20 minutes on a special quest to the Johnstown Walmart to have a very special prescription filled for chronic pain. This prescription had to be picked up at the dr office, hand delivered to the pharmacy every month. Last evening I carried it in only to find they were out of my pain pills. They were out---I am out and my pain is severe. They said they might be in stock again on Tuesday. Tell that to my pain-filled body------Next, to the pet dept. The shelves were empty---The cat treats I buy--out of every variety---the dog food I buy, out of every variety--the dog treats i buy, gone, not a box anywhere, I have had this happen at this store before, but this is the worst experience to date. I don't want to hear excuses from management---I made a special trip and came home practically empty handed. Either get with the program and provide what people go there expecting to find---or close up and I'll go to Somerset where this has never happened to me. The use of greeters has gone back and forth. It seems that as of this time, the use of greeters is determined by the number of staff that have reported to work. When the greeters ARE present, they are always kind, smiling, and very sincere. They (and the rest of the employees) seem to take everything in stride. I have had some problems at different times. I use the electric scooters and twice I have knocked over a display and broke items as I knocked them over. Staff replied with a don't worry about it manner and really put me at ease. I have also had the cart run out of its charge and die on me mid-aisle. Both times staff responded quite pleasantly with replacement carts. When I have been checking out, some of the cashiers just do not seem to be happy people. Sometimes they are more than a bit rude, but, for the most part, if a cashier seems to be feeling a bit grouchy they have responded very well to pleasantness directed towards them. There has always been something positive that I could relate to the cashier and that really improved their frames of mind. This is over-all a great store. I also want to make sure to mention that they have readily supplied me with assistance to get my groceries to my car and this individual has always been sociable. They have refused any kind of tip and kept saying that they just like helping. The only thing that is consistently in need of improvement is the fact that they seem to be very hesitant about putting the air conditioning on and it is sweltering inside the store. read more

I just called WalMart to speak to anyone in the produce dept. The person answering just said "hold on" and that I did for about 15 minutes. No one came to the phone and the person who answered did not greet me in any way which is usually customary for a person to do at a business! Nor did she return to the phone and thank me for waiting , nothing. I called back two additional times, again waiting for approximately 15 minutes each time. No politeness, no offer of apology, nothing. Just plain rudeness , no telephone etiquette whatsoever. I attempted to google a number to speak to a manager but could find nothing. read more

Total joke of a store. This place has the worst Parking, staff, and managers ever. Its like they said we need the worst store ever made and this place was born from the ashes of that. You can ask electronics a question and they have no clue. You can ask Hardware a question and they have no clue, this is the same in the entire store. Management are about the most worthless idiots the place could ever hire, that offer you a runaround rather than answering a question. Seriously this place is a STAY AWAY, Very very far away.. if you can go to the Ebensburgh store DO IT, this Richland store is horrible. Its not bad enough everything they sell has bottom of the bucket junk parts and is total trash, its like this store is the epidemy of it all. If you like to Cash yourself out with machines that barley work or even better wait inline at the 1 out of the 60 checkouts that are open for the slowest cashiers on earth to take 15 min to ring up 6 items maybe this place is for you.
