When this place started to pop up in his conversation I had to ask what it was. The best way I can describe this to you is the following: think Amish store, consignment shop, thrift store. You can't necessarily put this place in any given category because it is not completely one particular business. The items they have on their shelves you can tell come from other stores, especially by the branding. There are some really good deals to be found here, or maybe just find a new item you have never seen or heard of before. It is best to come here when you have time to spare because this is not a spot to dash in and grab something. What I found great was that this is taking up two storefronts in this plaza that were formerly empty. I want to say that one of the spaces used to be the post office. It is a welcomed addition to this plaza as they are kind of going under a revitalization of sorts. Other businesses are moving in as well. The consignment portion is pretty mixed. You really need to have time to go through what is offered. But overall, the store has food items, cleaning supplies, toys, small appliances, outdoor furniture, outdoor items, and so much more. Cash is encouraged here, but they do take cards with a surcharge. You will be surprised by the final price once you do pay.

And I might say they are doing a good thing with this space. When you walk in it is well lit, well stocked, and organized. It was a welcomed sight when it comes to a discount dollar store. Even though it was a Walgreens it has definitely been transformed as a the layout just flows. It made things easy to find. The staff here were pleasant as well. They greeted me as soon as I walked in which was odd walking into a dollar store. Even though they didn't have what I needed I did pick up a few items, which was kind of expected.

Marshalls is not a favorite store of mine, but I sometimes like to search for bargains here. During my recent shopping trip, I saw a variety of merchandise such as clothing, shoes, jewelry, handbags, beauty products, home decor, bed and bath linens, kitchenware, foods, furniture, and pet supplies. The shelves and racks were fully stocked and fairly well organized. Furthermore, the prices were low to moderate. I found some things that I liked.

For many years, I have occasionally shopped at this Macy's store in Westmoreland Mall. During my most recent visit, I shopped mostly in the women's section, and I thought that the store had a good selection. I saw designer brands such as Calvin Klein and also name brands. The store was having a holiday sale for Memorial Day weekend, and most merchandise was discounted. The only constructive feedback that I have is for checkout lines to have shorter wait times.

The building shape is fairly unique, so when I say this, you will understand. This was formerly a Walgreens. Seriously, look it up on the Dollar Tree website and then read the title. With that out of the way, let's move forward. I am not sure how they reconfigured the space, or for that matter what they did with the pharmacy space and drive thru, but it is set up just like any other Dollar Tree. You would think that because this is a larger space they would have more items. However, there are no more items in here than what you would find at a location next to a Walmart. Walking in you see the seasonal items. Then you just end up meandering through the store with $20 worth of items, or as I like to call it, an overflowing basket. I honestly do not remember what I bought, I went into a Dollar Tree induced amnesia and didn't come to until I finished placing the bags in the car.

I've been coming to this Target for years and prefer it much more to the one in Monroeville, PA…read morethat I'm actually closer to. Since they have redone the area and added a Walmart across the street, I still find myself shopping at Target more often. Recently, they've added updates to this Target such as an addition of a Starbucks, expanded grocery section, mobile phone department and overall updates throughout the existing departments. Despite these numerous changes, I've never found the remodeling to distract or lengthen my trips. Actually, I very rarely ever notice construction it just seems to appear. All of the employees that I've observed or come in contact with have always been very friendly, helpful, and efficient at their given job. All of the workers really seem to enjoy their job and I've never overheard gossip or bad talk among them. The prices are exactly what you would expect at Target. Some items may be cheaper at Walmart across the street, however I think you're paying for a much nicer and well-kept atmosphere.

Furthermore, this store contains a Starbucks, Ulta, and CVS. During my shopping trip here, the shelves and racks appeared to be fully stocked and organized. Brands included name-brands (e.g., Bounty, Converse, Fancy Feast, L'oréal, Pampers, and T-Fal) and the Target brand. Prices ranged from low to moderate. I bought a dry-erase eraser, and it had a reasonable quality and price. I used the self-checkout and experienced no problems with the machine.

But, the shelves are pure chaos. Not because customers put things back in the wrong places. There just doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the products' positions on the shelves. I was specifically looking for some organizer bins/baskets/containers. That aisle made my head hurt! Things weren't grouped by color, or by like item. I saw a cute set of desk organizer baskets I liked, but they were not the color I wanted. I searched for the ones I wanted, and saw how everything seemed to be haphazardly placed. I sometimes don't mind chaos, but in a store aisle dedicated to organization, I do, in fact, mind chaos. We did end up buying a small toy which was on clearance. I let my son stand in line while I looked at some things on a shelf near the registers. There was one cashier, and she very rudely snipped at my son for standing in line behind the other customer, instead of behind the "wait here" sign. (This was in 2026. No Covid, no pandemic. My kid can read, but he overlooked the sign and stood where he would/should at any other store.) Overall, this is not the worst store, but it doesn't have anything special, and I left feeling bad, which is not what I want from a shopping experience.

Westmoreland Mall is a two-story indoor mall that contains roughly 150 businesses. It has some…read morevacant space, but it is mostly occupied with businesses and is definitely NOT a dying mall. The anchor stores are JCPenney, Macy's, and Dick's Sporting Goods. The many other stores in the mall offer a decent variety of clothing, shoes, accessories, home decor, cosmetics, electronics, toys, and more. Restaurants include a mixture of local and national: Applebee's, Charley's Philly Steaks, Chick-fil-A, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Chuck E. Cheese's, Edo Hibachi Steakhouse, HoneyBaked Ham, Longhorn Steakhouse, Mangia, Panda 8, Panera Bread, Pita Paul's Gyros, Sbarro, Stir Fry 88, etc. The mall also contains Live! Casino and an AMC movie theater. For years, I have shopped occasionally at this mall. The building is maintained, clean, and safe, and it has plenty of parking spaces outside. Not all of my favorite stores are here, but I always find at least some nice things to buy. My favorite stores here include Aerie, American Eagle Outfitters, Hallmark, LOFT, and The Sweet Bone Bakery.

With so many dead and dying malls in the area, it is nice to see that Westmoreland Mall seems to be…read moreon a growth trajectory. Yes, there are some empty storefronts, but there are also exciting and fun new additions coming (like Dicks House of Sports). Aside from the standard retail giants, this location has some fun local options. They have a branch of Greenhouse Winery where you can sample wines and purchase by the bottle or glass and a new spirits store that carries a variety of tequilas and serves several different margaritas. The most unique feature is that there is a casino and events space that is a part of the mall. So there really is a little bit of everything. The mall has a small(ish) food court, but it is nice that there are those options. They seem to be doing a great job with maintenance as the escalators and elevators always seem to be in working order and the space is always bright and clean. They also don't seem to have the loitering problem other malls seem to have. There is plenty of parking all around the space and the parking lot is well maintained. If you want a mall experience that doesn't feel dead and dreadful, this is a great one to visit!
