Inside the Walmart store. See the flags hanging? Is that the Texas flag?

WOW! So many bad reviews from Walmart, what's up wid' dat???? I'm gonna show some LOVE to Walmart, as it's one of my favorite stores to go to for snacks & automotive supplies. On the road in Texas, the first thing I usually do when I travel is to look for a Walmart so I can buy some bottled water and pick up a few things I may have forgotten. Luckily for me, this particular Walmart was only a few short miles from the hotel I was staying at, so I found this store quite convenient. This particular Walmart store I went to is HUGE!!! Much larger than the one I frequent back home in da 808, because this store also has a grocery, deli, & bakery dept. I found my bottled water and also picked up a t-shirt to sleep in because it was a little chillier that I expected up here in Texas. On my 2nd time coming back to Walmart for more water days later, I also stopped by their bakery dept. and picked me up some dessert. I find Walmart as a "one stop shop"..........you can almost get everything you need here.

The new check stands after the self check has been removed.

The store is fairly clean and the shelves are stocked. Recently they removed their self checkout stations and went back to traditional check stands. In theory this should make things faster, but they don't have enough cashiers, the cashiers don't know how to run a check stand with any urgency. I used to be able to shop early Saturday or Sunday morning around 0930 and be in and out under an hour. The check line took almost 25 minutes at that hour. I was in line longer than I was shopping.

I shopped Walmart today using my Ibotta app. I saved over 50% by using this app! Use this link to save major money this holiday season. https://ibotta.onelink.me/iUfE/8cc13c64?friend_code=uktukoy

It can tend to be overpacked and very loud I recommend that you order your items online and pick them up at the store in order to avoid lines and chaos It's a lot easier that way You can even order your groceries and have them delivered to you outside the store

Employee turning people away unless you're already in the store

They close 10 minutes before 11. Yes they turn you away after watching you walk all the way up to the door. Manager needs to do something about that

Everyone ends up shopping at a "Wally world" sooner or later. The prices are just too inexpensive to pass on. This one is a full service store: groceries; pharmacy; auto care; eye center, etc. This Walmart is not as junkie as many usually are. This location is usually clean and less cluttered. As long as I don't come here on a weekend, I can get in and out quickly. The weekends are overflowing with human beings; you've been warned :-) I like that this locale offers self checkout. Overall, the items here also tend to be of better quality. We all know how grocery stores and "big box" stores place "nicer" items in locations they consider "upscale." It's a frustrating true fact. The folks in the auto center are friendly and helpful. Other workers here walk off with a glazed look in their eyes if you ask for assistance, thus the two stars.

This place is terrible! It's never clean and although they carry a lot they don't do much else. They have the laziest staff ever, and they're rude! I had an employee cut me off in line and take over a photo printing station and then she refused to let me go first even though I was in line! Absolutely horrible and they don't even process their own photos anymore, they send them out if you have film or a disposable camera. The only thing they print in house are from their machines which never work! I always have bad experience here and they wouldn't get business at all if they weren't so close to my office. Ugh!!

Worst customer service - TJ Maxx Irving…read more This is the SECOND time I've had a horrible experience at the TJ Maxx location in Irving, and I'm done shopping here. The employees treat customers like we work for them. Zero respect, zero professionalism. The first incident: I was with a family member in the fitting room. I handed the employee clothes that were already on hangers (just not facing the "right" direction). Instead of simply taking them, the employee spoke to me rudely, switched to Spanish, and lectured me in a disrespectful tone, saying "next time hang them the right way." Completely unnecessary and extremely rude. Today it happened again. I am pregnant, tired, and shopping for maternity clothes. A pair of pants that was already hanging incorrectly fell to the floor when I barely touched it. I immediately picked it up and handed it to the employee. Her response? She told me to hang it myself, with an attitude, disgusting looks, and continued talking in Spanish in a mocking, disrespectful way -- as if she was insulting me. What makes this worse is that I was planning to buy items from the store, but because of the way I was treated, I left the items and changed my mind completely. No store deserves my money after that kind of behavior. I am a customer, not an employee. I should not be spoken to like this, especially while pregnant. Speaking another language to mock or insult customers is unacceptable and unprofessional. This store clearly has a serious problem with staff attitude and training. I felt disrespected, uncomfortable, and humiliated. This was my last visit to this location. I do NOT recommend the TJ Maxx Irving store to anyone.

Having to wait 1+ hr in line is absurd, and not all check outs were open. After several trips where I ended up putting down merchandise and leaving because of long lines, I will avoid this Tjmaxx in the future.

The only bad part about the experience was the WiFi was slow in the back of the store and it made it hard to pull up my Target red card app in order to pay. I remember when I loved going to Target. It was fun! Unfortunately, not anymore. I only come to…read morethis store specifically because it's the only nearby Target, and I don't enjoy my visits. The traffic patterns in the parking lot are a nightmare, in general. Getting in and out, parking and even crossing the street in the crosswalk into the front entrance feels dangerous because another driver might hit me. Unless you visit early in the morning, the parking lot, store and checkouts are crowded. Worst of all, there are frequently items out of stock and missing at this store. I have never once visited and found everything on my list. They used to ask me if I found everything I needed - when I said "no" they never offered to help so I have to wonder why they kept asking me? On this visit (first week of January 2025), there is now a sign that self-check is limited to 10 items or less. That meant that I had to wait in a line to check out with a cashier. He was very nice, but probably the slowest cashier I have ever experienced at any store in my life. This will likely be one of my last visits to this location. There have been some other general corporate changes over the last couple of years that make me consider closing my Target credit card and switching my spending over completely to an alternative: 1. Changes to their coupon policy "to prevent fraud" by insisting that they are in a database means that they no longer accept most of the otherwise valid manufacturers coupons that I bring into the store. Although not how they worded their policy change, functionally they pretty much only accept Target/manufacturer coupons added digitally in their app now. Without coupons, I can often find a better price at a drugstore and spend less of my time doing so.; 2. Changes to the Target app and Circle program. In theory, this would mean that I don't have to spend my time loading coupons in the app every Sunday morning because they are supposedly already active. What I have noticed since the changes is that far fewer coupons are applied to my orders.; and 3. Food Allergy Labeling: When they changed their store brand awhile back, far fewer of their products that *should be naturally gluten-free were marked gluten-free. As someone with Celiac Disease, that means I can't buy them. Other things like salted nuts all are almost all marked as processed with wheat. Again, I can't buy them; and 4. (Not a change.) Target doesn't let you use your flex spending card first to pay only for flex spending OTC purchases like some other retailers. If I buy something like OTC ibuprofen, I need to print, scan and submit the receipt to my flex spending for a reimbursement. By contrast many other retailers, have recently made using flex spending card easier.
