Honestly; everything about this store needs to be improved!! First, the self checkouts, 70% of the time they're down, broken or unavailable. There's more people around on the floor restocking shelves than there are at the registers especially when it's busy. Secondly, EVERY time I go to purchase something, I'm seeing "associates" in regular clothes, not wearing their vest, & the name tags are barely visible! Additionally, I recently went & purchased some items, & I saw a Walmart associate with headphones in!! How can Walmart store associates live up to the stores expectations of customer service if they're unaware of customers because they're listening to music, or if they don't have their vests on while stocking shelves? It's in a way where ANY RANDOM PERSON could easily walk into the back of the store, act like they work there, & next thing you know, the store is missing merchandise because of negligence and ignorance. If this is how Walmart associates are at this location, I'll gladly take my business elsewhere because I refuse to give my time & money to a store that could care less about their customers. read more

Very, very deceptive signage and practices at this location. Picked up some fabric off an end cap with other miscellaneous items and a sign that said "50 cents" above everything. At checkout I was told it's per yard, well there probably wasn't even a yard there. Asked to speak with the manager and was talked down to. I know how fabric is priced, thank you. Don't put a "50 cents" sign over a pile of scraps and picked over garbage and then tell me it's per yard. I left a full cart of groceries there and walked out. You probably lost $100 sale arguing over 50 cents. Good customer service would have been, "I'm sorry, it was our mistake that the sign was not clear, unfortunately we can't give it to you at that price, but here's a five dollar gift card for your next visit." I would've been satisfied and went back and shopped some more and filled my cart with more stuff and then checked out. Walmart is a multi BILLION dollar corporation. They should not be holding their own customers accountable for their laziness and mistakes. Mistakes do happen, but you never make your customer feel like your errors are their fault. This is a classic bait and switch, and I wonder how many times it happens to Walmart customers on a daily basis. You're forced to either put the item back or pay the higher price. I hate Walmart. I do anything I can to avoid it. I'm a Target shopper, credit card issue and all! I have a closer Walmart to my home but I can't stand shopping there. Luckily, I have found that this location in Huntley, is clean, well-staffed, fairly well organized and is truly nothing like a traditional Walmart that I know. This store is quite large but thankfully there is always someone nearby to help direct me to what I need to find. Thankfully, I have yet to have any real problems here. My husband is willing to enter this location unlike the one in Streamwood. We would rather pay a little more to shop at other stores but if and when we are in the area, we typically swing past here for our basic household needs. They lose one star from me because their clearance section can be such a disaster. Otherwise, I enjoy shopping here. read more

I shop here very often with it being the closest grocery store near Hampshire, i spend no less than $300 every shopping trip and each time i get treated like a piece of dirt on the ground. The customer service here in non existing. 85% of the cashier i feel weren't fully or properly trained they always have to call a manager for questions. Walking through the store you see employees when you ask them for help they act as if you've asked them to do the impossible. Debbie from customer service has ZERO customer service. Maybe a "Hi how are you?" Would be nice but apparently Walmart in Huntley doesn't believe in manors or satisfaction of costumers. Just as long as they get paid bi weekly. read more

I like this Walmart. I think the layout is nice, they keep the clearance in a certain section so you can check it out if need be and not be bothered by discounted merchandise scattered through the store. They have a minimal selection of shoes but all other departments seem to be normal in comparisons to other Walmarts. I love the kids video game right in front of the check outs! I can send my kids in with some money and still keep an eye on them while finishing my transaction without being asked for all the candy in the check out lanes. I also love that the Redbox machine is inside .. very convienant when weather isn't the best. My only complaint is that they seem to employ quite a few senior citizens as cashiers. When it is busy they don't open extra lanes and the seniors take a bit longer to finish up the sales. So on days I am in a rush I don't fit a Walmart trip into my schedule. read more

Yah, you read that right! I just gave Walmart FOUR freakin' stars. Okay, so I need to be very clear here...this four-star review is for this location ONLY. I hate every other Walmart I've ever been to. My parents live in Huntley and when they first moved to this small NW burb, this store did not exist. There wasn't a whole lot going on in Huntley (and if I'm being honest, there still isn't), but this Walmart has changed my life. Okay, I'm speaking in hyperbole here, but it is a pretty damn nice store. We all know the prices at Walmart are almost always unbeatable! This is nothing new. This store is so big and so clean and so well-organized...hard to believe I'm using these words to describe a Walmart! It's a Super Walmart and it's open 24-hours, which I love. It's not like I shop much at 3:00 am (especially when I'm out at my parents house), but it's nice to have the option. Since this store has opened (I would guess 2-3 years ago), I don't think I've gone to visit my parents and not made a trip to Walmart while I was out in BFE. You just can't beat the prices and the condition of the store makes a trip to Wally World almost enjoyable! Who would have thunk it? Ultimately, it's just Walmart, but it's definitely the best one I've ever been to! Although, the bar was set so low, it's hard not to exceed those expectations. the cashier kathy was beyond rude and was arguing with me over a $1 clearance item. i was buying xmas (75%off) clearance and there was an entire row of perfumes for $1 and clearance at $.25 she told me it was clearance and it wasn't $.25 yet the sign said it was and there were over 50 bottles there. yelled at me that she had this issue with a different lady and it's not clearance. well there are many signs it is clearance and if it's not, then it needs to be moved if it's an issue she "already faced" no need to be rude, a simple "this was misplaced" would have been sufficient. read more

I would never be caught red-handed giving a Walmart more than one stars I thought in my entire life. But this location is actually somewhat decent. It's not no five stars jaw-dropping Goodness. But it's fairly clean and fairly nice staff. I mean I have been here a few times where I've had rude cashiers and rude sales associates but overall it evens out at this location. This Walmart is incredible! Thankfully, I go there enough to know where everything is allowing me to shop conveniently. My favorite department is the fishing section, they carry all the essential fishing products that are trending for bass fishing in particular. Absolutely love the prices and quality of products they carry. In addition, they have all the other much needed/wanted products on the market. The other day I needed a birthday present for my grandma and I wasn't sure if they would have something she liked. However, I found a beautiful Hummingbird feeder that my grandma loved so much. I have two Wal-Marts that are close to me. This one is very well laid out and is quite easy to find things. The staff is helpful and there seems to be plenty of them around if you have questions. Though funny I have found myself having to call the store WHILE IN THE STORE to find customer service. Today was to locate someone to mix paint. After 5 minutes of walking the area I was done. The cashiers are hit and miss. A few are fabulous, many are crabby/nasty who you can't even get to greet you. Avoid the older red headed lady she's flat out miserable and refuses to speak. Today I get stopped at the exit door after making my purchase at the local Walmart and I was asked to show my receipt. I asked why? It was a new policy that loose items not bagged are checked as they leave the store. I told the lady I don't steal but showed her my receipt. As I exited a young man with 3 kids exits behind me. He has loose items and is not checked. I asked him outside if he was asked to show his receipt and he said no. I returned to the store and confronted the lady who checked my receipt and asked what the criteria is? She said again it was loose items. When I told her about the young man with 3 kids leaving she denied seeing them. I told her it seems like Walmart has a gender or age or race issue going on. I wanted to know what the "real" criteria is. I asked for a manager. One came up and explained it was a loose item check, a new policy from Walmart Hq. As I reiterated what happened she insisted it was an oversight. I told her it seems like I was selected out and if they wanted to play like Costco then make it a 100% bag check. Then lo and behold right next to us a person exited carting a 24 pack of beer. It was me that had to point this out to both Walmart workers. So beware folks if you are of the wrong looking class, social economic group, without kids, etc Walmart considers you a thief. read more

I noticed the prices on a few "staple items" I always buy are slightly higher priced at this location compared to other wal marts driving within 15 min of here. also a few times I have gone here with a list of about 15 items I need and I only come out with about 10 because the store id out of the other 5 things I need. and when ever I need to buy shelf stable almond milk theres usually only one old damaged container left that doesn't look like something I would pay. theres also one cashier that I avoid at all costs because she is a chatty cathy to the extreme!!!! read more

This Walmart is super clean, good produce & meats! The people who work there always go out of their way to be nice & friendly! (Which I find rare at the check-outs!). I should also mention until this place I refused to shop at Walmart stores because I thought they were gross. This place completely changed my views. And you can't beat the prices. This review is strictly about Walmart Vision Center. i am extremely dissatisfied with my experience with Walmart Vision Center in Huntley, IL. My sister and I both have Blue cross Blue Shield insurance. we went in for an exam today, 5/1/17, and they took my sister in first. they did the glaucoma test and proceeded with the eye exam. They then took me in and did the glaucoma test in which i asked, "do i have to do this?" and the doctor said "You don't have to but it is highly recommended." He then proceeded to do the normal eye exam for me. The receptionist took my sister out in the middle of my exam, after she had already finished hers, only to tell her they don't accept our insurance. I finished my exam and we went to go pay. They charged us both $50 for the glaucoma test which they never told her was optional, and never told either of us would cost extra. They then charged her $35 for the eye exam and $50 for my eye exam because i have astigmatism. They also never told me it would be extra because of that. So in total i paid, out of pocket, $105 for only a glasses prescription. My sister paid $85 out of pocket for her contact lens and glasses prescription. Once we got home we realized the receptionist also charged my sisters insurance $7 for an 'out of provider fee," which they ALSO did not tell us. Overall i am completely dissatisfied with my experience at Walmart Vision Center and will not be returning. The insurance should have been checked prior to our exams so that we could decide whether to go through with the exams or find another place that covers through our insurance. read more

I don't mind the store at all....it is the people that are employed there! The customer service people ...well they really have no business having contact with people....they are rude and make you feel like a criminal....all because I wanted to return two cans of "UN USED" spray paint ....and then with in the 15 minutes it took as I waited for a manager ( who never came ) THEY LOST MY RECEIPT!!!!!!! Normally I have loved going to this location. They have always helped out,fast checkout,and been the go to place for my services. Recently my sister and I bought some cosmetics from this store, and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. There were no baskets available,so I had to carry about 10 cosmetics in my hands. On top of that, there were two female employees following us and talking about us the whole time. When we proceeded onto the lotion aisle, one of them asked if we needed any help and I replied no. Feeling threatened and accused, I took my things up to the register where they still proceeded to follow us. Obviously, u wasn't shoplifting if I had ALL of my items in my hands. I paid for my items, where the employees proceeded to watch us out the door. I have never felt so accused or threatened in my life. My friends have also told me how they have had the same exact issue at this location and the one in crystal lake as well. I will no longer be using WalMart for my further services and neither will my sister. read more
