I just can't bring myself to give Wally World anything higher than a 2. Yes they have the lowest prices But that's it, you also get what you pay for. You get non-existent Customer Service. and the "experts" they put in certain departments are a joke. Go to the electronics section and ask the worker there where the HDMI cords are and prepare for the "I have no idea what you're talking about stare". I'm almost tempted not to post this because I have the impression Walmart really doesn't care if the customers are being treated well or not. But, here goes: I'm in the check out line, and the elderly lady in front of me had one of my items rang up with hers. When the elderly lady tried to explain it to the cashier, she barely paid attention to her. First she told her that I could pay her for the item, (I would if i had the cash), then the told her she would have to go to customer service for a refund. And she refused. Good for her. Meanwhile my frozen food is thawing. Finally a "manager " came to refund her money. I asked the manager if she could bring one of those plastic separators for the conveyor so it wouldn't happen to someone else. She said if there was any separators there, it would have been used. When I asked her if she could actually like a manager and prevent a future incident like this, she reluctantly brought one. I can deal with the crappie merchandise, and the long lines, but the management is either unwilling or unable to teach good customer service skills. In that case we all have to suffer. read more

Why do we shop at Wal-Mart? Because we have to. Because they've eliminated competitors and beat up their vendors on pricing. Wal-Mart is a bully, but you can get "fresh" green beans, an Elmo doll, underwear, and an oil change all under one roof. So that's good, right? Not so much. And this one is dirty and unkept. I visited your store today Monday 8-10-2020. Several employees were walking around the floor who were not wearing their masks properly. Some exposed their noses and others were wearing their masks on their chins. For the most part most were wearing them properly, but it only takes one to spread the virus. read more

Don't hate it. Well, actually I'm not a fan of the produce. The freezer sections are well stocked as are the aisles. The infant section is pretty well stocked. Biggest point of irritation begins and ends in the parking lot. The carts are all over the place. There aren't enough carrells to contain them all and they just hang off of the islands and in the car spaces. All before 10 am on a Saturday. And the carts. Not one that isn't falling apart. So much so that a staff person saw me try to pick over three malfunctioning options and told me to call the 800 number on my receipt after checking out. She said the condition they were in was disgraceful. So, yeah. I think I'm going to Target instead. I don't care if it's farther away. read more

Well...i go to Walmart a lot for oil changes. and I never make mistakes like this...but I'm sad to say that today I made a HUGE mistake and left my wallet UNKNOWINGLY in my car during a oil change...I was 15 min in when I realized I did not have it, when I went to go pay for something... My fault I know..but still... I immediately went to ask one of the guys if he could perhaps grab it for me. He seemed hesitant. My car was the only car there. They ALL gave me a weird vibe. 3 guys total. I felt like they were trying to get me away from my car... telling me to go OUTSIDE TO THE TENT. Idk why. Cuz I've never been asked to do that... telling me to wait inside while they took my car down. Chatting me up basically. I finally got to my car and found my wallet by the passenger side near the door. now I didn't suspect anything initially because I thought maybe it had been there the whole time... but I seem to be around $100 short, most likely MORE than that...but I'll say $100 minimum for sure... now that Ive counted. Which is devastating. I'm just writing for everyone to be aware and to not let your guard down and always get ALL of your belongings out of your car. Common sense but still...Be aware.. because one day someone might take advantage of your mistakes :( Also maybe management will see this and talk to their employees. read more

Just went Friday to get something and found out they had a coffee kiosk called 2 Friends and a Chef. I tried there frozen espresso and I was very impressed for something I never heard of. I am also impressed Walmart has this and hopefully the one on Veterans has the same thing. read more

So...it's a Walmart. You know the deal. Parking sucks, and they close early for a Walmart (11pm instead of midnight). Long checkout lines. Frequently out of stock or low stock on staples like milk, eggs. This is specifically about the new "Pickup" service which is meant to compete with Amazon and expedite the process of shopping at Walmart. They've constructed an enormous orange tower in the store to promote this service. We ordered something super-cheap and easy (mesh laundry bag for camp) to try out the service. You "check in" at the tower for an associate to unlock the locker and release your purchase. They ask you to check on in the app when you get to the store, which we did. We had other items to shop for which took about 30 minutes. So we checked in at tower, 10 minute wait, no acknowledgment from store staff. Inquired with security at the door, spoke with two separate yellow-vest managers, all had attitude and didn't seem to care at all about the Pickup service. 20 more minutes passed, no one could find the key to the locker. Finally an associate with an orange Pickup shirt came over, also with attitude, asked again for all the information including our name and what the item was, and we were able to leave. At least 35-40 minute wait and had to ask four different employees for assistance. This is the opposite of convenience. read more

And yes, that's true. But the bottom line is they have unbeatable prices which is attractive for people on a budget in these troubling financial times. I have the luxury of working a block from Walmart so I can stop by during lunch when it's not crowded and get some shopping done. My only real complaint is that if I go for something specific that almost guarantees that it will not be in stock. I also pop in during lunch and get one of their prepared sandwiches from time to time, or I hit up Voodoo BBQ Express. read more

This Walmart and I have a "Love Hate" relationship. I love the fact that it's close to the shipyard where my ship is docked, but I hate the fact that their customer service is horrible. The perfect example of this is about two weeks ago when the cashier was attempting to scan my items while she showed her friend a YouTube video. Her friend actually left her register to look at it, letting my line suddenly double in size. At no point did she ever make any eye contact or even acknowledge my presence. She actually kept holding her phone and talking as she tore of my receipt and handed it to the empty air in front of her. Their parking lot is horrible with carts sitting everywhere. I have never seen anyone out getting the carts and usually there is only 2 or 3 sitting inside for customers to grab. The manager here should definitely be fired. read more

Poor Customer service and bad quality assurance. I purchased breakfast sausage patties on Saturday and went home and froze them, the next morning I get up to find green mold spores all across the meat, eww! I could have gotten sick if I din't happen to see the mold. I called the manufacture, they showed concern, they issues me a coupon and an apology and along with the statement that wal mart should not have sold that meat in the first place, it was expired. So I called the local wal mart to let them know about the old meat, to voice my concerns and explain that if they don't do their job to ensure the food is not past its expiration people could get sick or worse. Its an important safety issue in my opinion. Well I didn't get the chance to speak to a manager cause they wouldn't even come to the phone. I get the person ask what it was about so she could get the correct manager ,she put me on hold. 25 minutes of waitng, so I just hung up, so that means that the manager didn't get this information and possibly other people will buy this moldy meat. I called corporate thinking, the message will get through. Would you believe, I get a message saying they simply don't have time to talk to everyone right now, and I could call back later. So I see how to local stores don't care, when the big honchos could care less. read more

Walmart Supercenter - MOLDY MEAT!! - Department Stores Near Me - Harahan, Louisiana

Okay, before you say anything I know its WalmartI shouldn't expect Target quality. However, this Walmart in general is just horrible. So, it is Christmas time so I'm not expecting this calming experience and again it Walmart, come on dude. I go in and I'm looking for the computers in electronics, there is no one there to answer questions or to even open up the cage to get a laptop. So, I go to the bathroom (drank a lot of water that day) when I get in there two of the stalls are out of order one being the handicap stall (like really). Go in to the stall and there is no lock, so I'm trying to rig a lock with my purse and the door. I wanted a computer not to show off my MacGyver skills. Go back to the electronics section and there is a girl who comes to unlock the computers, but because they didn't really have anyone working in electronics there was no way to actually get the assistance that I need on the computers. After checking out, I went to my car and there was a line of baskets blocking me in. I see the guy who is getting the baskets and he makes CLEAR eye contact with me and sees this is my car. Now, in an ideal scenario, he would have got the baskets from behind my car and I would have been able to leave; because you gathering baskets should not affect me from leaving a store. He then decides to gather the baskets from the parking lot. I gesture to him a few times I needed to back out, because call me crazy why should I have to wait for you to finish your job before I can leave to go to my job?! I was able to back out of the parking spot 15 mins later *inserts mad emoji* I usually, don't like to come to this location just because they are ALWAYS over packed and the prices are higher at this location than the other ones, but I was pressed for time and I will not make that mistake again. read more

I thought it couldn't get worse than the Tchoup Walmart but this one really does give it a run for its money. LaQuinta, one of the individuals charged with assisting shoppers as they check themselves out (this store has virtually done away with cashiers), literally screamed at me for not knowing that I needed to do do a manual override on the pin pad and enter the numerical value of the gift card I was trying to use. It was unbelievable. It's one thing to have self checkout-another to scream at customers for not having a cashier's knowledge of manual override processes. The store is usually pretty stocked and most of the time you can find staff to help when needed. What I find frustrating at this location is they have moved the cart collector bins to closer to the store and now there are tons of carts everywhere. I am not sure why they took them out but not parking spots are filled with carts that people are leaving everywhere. read more

Oh, this is the best Wal Mart can attain to in the metro area. The customer service here is very good, selection is either great, or picked through, and prices are better than the one on Tchops. The cashiers are a lot nicer, and make you feel good about spending money there. I have had better service in Wal Marts in Tennessee and Wisconsin, but that there is just the curve "work ethic" at work. I don't necessarily like shopping at Wal Marts, but they are a necessary evil. read more

On July 27 around 10:30am I was discharged from the hospital and went to the WalMart Pharmacy on Jefferson Highway. Although my prescription was sent in from the hospital, it still was not ready 2-3 hours later. I inquired as to how long it would be and was told 15 minutes. 30 minutes later I asked if my prescription was ready. I was told they are working on my order! I explained that I was not feeling well as I just got out of the hospital and would appreciate it if they could fill my one prescription. There were not other customers waiting. You would have thought I asked her to donate a kidney! This pharmacy staff is nothing but rude, incompetent and apathetic. Once my prescription was ready 1 hour later, I was told to stand in line to wait for the pharmacist to do counseling with me. I declined as I have been taking this medication for over a year and I just wanted to get home as I was feeling sick. The clerk walked over to the pharmacist with my prescription to discuss my order. The pharmacist VERY RUDELY took my prescription out of their bag and tossed it into a Walmart bag. I overheard her say with disgust, "that is fine we are short staffed anyway". She mumbled something else that I could not hear. Had I not been feeling so sick, I would have taken her up on her ugly comment. I will NEVER go to this pharmacy again. My prescriptions have been transferred to Walgreens. The Walmart Pharmacy on Jefferson Highway is a poor excuse for a pharmacy. Their staff is nothing but rude, uncaring and incompetent. read more

I usually have a hard time finding an employee here for help or one that's overly friendly during check-out, BUT... I drive out to this WalMart in Harahan from the Uptown area. I make this concious decision and put in the extra effort/drive time because in comparison to the Tchop WalMart, this one is 2394829337 stars! There aren't a billion ignorant individuals running amok. Only a fraction of that! I'm able to navigate my cart with ease, find what I need in a more organized environment, and food seems to be more fresh (still have to double-check though). I've also spent significantly less time waiting in line here. read more

Oh Good God! Run, don't walk the other way. Do not go to this store unless you are a glutton for punishment. This store is absolutely, unequivocally the worst Walmart I have ever seen. It's disgustingly dirty all the time. It's as if no one has EVER cleaned it..... ever. The produce selection is shameful with bugs (not just fruit flies) all over everything and no one that works there seems to care at all. The workers here seem to all be from some type of project housing development being that they speak loudly about inappropriate stories and racist comments are made very loudly within ear shot of the type of people they are bashing, they go out of their way to be rude to certain types of people and pretty much all they do all day long is ride the clock and avoid doing any real work. Even the Managers are pitiful. They stand around and look useless with the rest of the employees there. They all run in the same circle it seems. This is the #1 place in the area that you can see the highest number of unattended children running wild all over the store..... and when I say unattended, I truly mean unattended.... as in no parent or guardian anywhere in sight at all. I guess the kids, who typically range in age from 3-10, are used to being by themselves and running a muck. They seem to be very practiced at that. All in all, this Walmart has made an art out of being trashy. They are by far the trashiest bunch of people I've ever seen, this is by far the most disgusting facility I have ever seen in my life and good luck trying to check out being that the people that are there to "work" never seem to be doing so. read more

You have heard it before, but the pharmacy at this location should get zero stars, but you have to give them one. After waiting in line for 10 minutes or so, I was told they did not receive my prescription from Ochsner hospital from 2 days earlier. A coworker overheard my dismay, checked his computer and found the prescription. Why idiot #1 didn't have access to this information or trained to get it was probably because he was too busy chatting up other employees. With 6 employees behind the counter, I've never heard so much idle chatter. You think that have had something to do with my issue? Employee #2 then proceeded to tell me they didn't have the drug and that he didn't know when they would get the drug. I understand not having a drug, but you can't tell me when you can get it? I asked why had Walmart not contacted Ochsner or me to say they didn't have the drug and didn't know when they could get it? He could only offer an apology. "Sorry", when you need a controlled drug for pain caused by cancer treatment does not suffice. I knew I was beating a dead horse, so I asked him what he would do if he was me. Since he can't transfer a controlled substance to another pharmacy, he suggested I contact my doctor again to write the prescription at the pharmacy in Ochsner. The first intelligent utterance since my arrival...and that's what I have done. In a post script, I had to change to Walmart for that particular drug because United Healthcare in their infinite wisdom decided to drop Walgreens as a recognized prescriber. Go figure. read more

I shop at my local Walmart's all of the time, located in Metairie and Harahan. This evening, I went to my Walmart (located at 5110 Jefferson Highway River Ridge, LA 70123). I had my regular groceries along with my WIC voucher for 10 Emfamil Gentlease cans of formula. The cashier whose name I do not have but on the evening of September 1st was on register 6 told me I had the wrong ones. My boyfriend and I explained we didn't and tried to show her otherwise. She got frustrated and shouted to the next cashier asking which managers she could call. She asked for Nia instead of the other manager who was on duty because there was no way she wanted to deal with that one, and made a disgusted face. Nia came.. she looked my boyfriend and I over as though we were trash and looked at the voucher, and said "Oh ah ah, you can't use these." Again we began to explain we could, but did not have a chance, and was yelled at, and before we knew it, all of our formula was in another basket being rolled away, again being grunted at using the term "Oh ah ah." My boyfriend stayed and finished the transaction and I went to the aisle with formula in hopes of finding someone to help. There was a woman on the aisle who I asked if would help me, and she said I would have to find a manager. I asked if she could help me locate one. She said to look around. I told her she was no help at all, then she YELLED at me saying whatever Nia said was right, again and again she kept repeating that. I stormed away, crying and stopped a lady in the clothes department who was very nice, wearing a white shirt. She located someone for me who was also nice and she disappeared with my vouchers. Then, the woman from the formula aisle came with the formula in her hand telling this woman that I accused her of yelling at me, but I don't realize that that is just how she talks. My 4 month old son was crying at this point, and she pointed out she could see why I was buying the gentlesease for fussy babies as apparently my son is. I told her he was fussy because of her nasty attitude. I even had my old receipts in my voucher folder showing how I received some day before. Long story short, I was told I could not use them there. The girl who was helping me was told over the head piece that I COULD NOT use them, even though an assistant manager who I didn't see told one of the ladies if they tried to scan it and it went through I could. But, Nia refused to do that. I have worked in retail since I was a teenager, and I am the first to give compliments on good service. I rarely give bad, because I know everyone has bad days and what not. But, the cashier, Nia, and the woman on the formula aisle were all horrendous. I do not see how these are assets to the store. I have seen the picture of the man who founded Walmart all those years ago, and I am sure he would be so upset to hear of this. This is such ashame. They were all incorrect about the information, but the worst was their DISGUSTING attitude. read more
