Good food selections and other departments as stocked with only the most commonly purchased stuff. I loved this store when it was new. Last year I noticed a huge change. The store seems to let their grocery inventory go empty of up to a week at a time for the purpose of inventorying the merchandise. It is frustrating to find absolutely no bread in the bread aisle. I have a plug in electric vehicle. There are designated EV spaces in front of and along side the store. There is no way to regulate where customers park, but employees often park in these more convenient spaces. And these employee cars are never EVs. So I am left to park in the regular spaces a little further away. Check your employees a little better. Today was the kicker for me. I was there to pick up an online order and buy groceries. The receipt checker at the door sent my children back into the store with my cart because they didn't produce my receipt. I was walking out with another employee who was helping me with my order. I told the receipt person she had no legal right to stop my children. She stone face told me she did. Sorry buddy, not unless you suspect I have stollen something. Knowing my rights, next time I will just push through and not wait for the 5 receipts ahead of me to be scanned. read more

I got my 4 year old nephew some baseball cupcakes for his first tball practice. the kid only wants cupcakes, he wants nothing to do with tball... anyway, I thought him getting the cupcakes with me would get him excited. when we went to pick them up, not only were they PERFECT and exactly what I asked for, super cute by the way, but she got my nephew all pumped up. he told her they were for tball and she said something about how exciting and how fun and her niceness and enthusiasm made both of us excited for the first practice (i'm the asst coach by the way.. not just a crazy cupcake addict aunt) anyway.. the only down fall to them was I ate two because they're do darn good. thanks for makin me fat! but seriously, i'm about to eat another one tonight. Here is where rules fight with common sense. I'm raising a pig and chickens. Went into Walmart while grocery shopping and asked the kid in the produce department if he had any fruits or vegetables he was throwing out? Even told him I'd pay for them if he wanted to mark a price on the box of items that no shoppers would take home to their family anyways. This kid thought he was doing good. Outside the box thinking and making a decision to take care of a customer request. He was excited about making money for big box Walmart. Well I finished my shopping of $318 bucks went over to his department only to find out his manager said I couldn't take those items out of the store even if I paid for them. What a racket! Vicious cycle of corporate America. Rules! We shop at Walmart weekly and spend cash. Trying to have a little farm living. Walmart wants you to go online and pay $17 for a 25 lb bag of pig feed and have it delivered to your front door wasting gas and putting miles on a van that will be worn out after a few years. I'm ok helping out with keeping people employed. There has be some common sense in this world. I get there has to be rules and procedures or there is grey areas that stuff falls through the cracks. They won cuz I stopped at tractor supply and purchased a 50 lb bag of pig feed. My Arnold the pig deserves some fruits and vegetables. I'll shut up now. I was here on both Saturday and Sunday and it is the most under stocked store I have ever seen. There is holes everywhere thru out the whole store. Everything I searched for was empty. Came in to go shopping and had to use the restroom well come to find out when I walk to use the restroom there was a gentleman cleaning it and I asked him how much more longer is he going to be and it seem he was taking his time after I had asked him all tho the other restroom was in use so I know other Walmart s have at least two restroom s one in the front and the other one in the back of the store and this one only had one for the whole store which is Sad and I waited for the person who was cleaning the restroom for a good 25 to 30 minutes which I was almost was going to go in the Men's restroom but then again they pee every where and they are nasty and finally they guy came out of the women's restroom and as soon as he look at me like he knew I was waiting and then he had a big smirk on his face and he knew he was taking his time so I will never ever come here again read more

I used to use the curbside pick up but now they have limited grocery items to what is available for this service. So many items are an instore purchase only that I can't even do a full week of shopping for necessary items. This seems like a new trend and I couldn't even order water that was in the store. Recently I tried to get this Walmart to support our neediest elementary school in Galt and had no luck. I submitted my letter of request twice, hand delivering it both times. I followed up with multiple phone calls to the person who is supposed to handle those kinds of requests and I never got anywhere with it despite her assuring me if I submitted the paperwork again that it would be granted. When I found out this was coming next door to my parents I was so happy! It's so nice and clean on the inside and the prices of fruits and veggies is so cheap! The store is so organized and has a lot of new neat things. The electronics department is stocked with all up to date Gadgets. I didn't give it five stars because a lot of the employees are so lazy and it definitely has the worst customer service. This Walmart is one of the worst. It is small, shelves are not stocked, the focus is way too much on low quality food and they put in a Subway sandwich shop when there is one less that 1/4 mile away! The selection is limited on garden items and the staff still has trouble finding things. If I want to shop at a Walmart, most of the time I will travel to the really nice Walmart at Whitelock Parkway and Franklin in Elk Grove, now that's a great Walmart! read more

Parking can be trying and distant, unless handicapped. The newer Walmart is typical and clean. Items are displayed nicely and help can be hard to find. Prices etc., are standard. read more

As much as I hate Wal-Mart and their shady business practices, this one is organized, clean, full of mostly pleasant employees, and does not come with a crazy parking lot full of beggars that Wal-Mart seems to be so famous for. I usually leave this Wal-Mart with a smile on my face, which is hard to say for Wal-Mart. I just have to get this off my chest bc it happened less than an hr ago and it bothers me. There's an employee there, an older man name Michael, who had to authorize the return of the FitBit I purchased 4 days ago for being too small. He's grumpy, unprofessional, and has a false sense of authority. He grilled me on why I wanted to return a product that all he clearly could do was accept. Nothing was wrong with the product itself. I returned it with the box and all paperwork and extra parts in tact (receipt included). He went as far as asking me which notch on the watch I wore it on, which I explained to him 3 times. He kept telling me it was adjustable so I shouldn't have had a problem. I told him it was too small. I mean, come on dude. Why the F are we going back and forth like this? Do you have a personal interest with this product, or what? It doesn't fit, I'm unhappy with it, it's only been 4 days, give me my money back. Period. He kept saying, "I GUESS I'll take it back..." Winnie Elk Grove Stop by at this store for the first time my way home to elk grove around 11pm ..and i was behind this couple that buying a grocery ,they spent $58.25 ,she gave the cashier $100.25. And she got a $ 66.75 changed...As soon as she received her receipt look at it and still puzzling why she got more changed back?and they look at me and I said to them she made a mistake to give you more changed cashier punch in $125 instead of $100.25.they decided to go back and return the money to the cashier . .Good people they consience when other make mistakes liked this. ..good job! read more

so I had a photo poster of my logo made at the photo shop online Walmart website mind you I live in galt and the Walmart is in galt I thought it would take at least about two days or 1 day as I didn't feel like going out that day I thought it would have been ready for me to pick up in a day or two because of the close proximity so I waited and waited by then it was two weeks gone by so I just called on Monday the 4th the lady told me it would be there on the 6th long and behold it was there on the 4th according to my tracking number but she said no it wasn't, and it was even signed by a Walmart employee at that Walmart ,,so moral to the story don't ever order a photo poster online it will take forever your better off going in and have them do it even if you have to wait an hour . This Walmart is the WORST! I was very excited in the beginning and shopped here all the time for hunting, fishing, house items, cleaning supplies, garden, and groceries. I came here all the time and spent ALOT of money. UNTIL, I came after work to pick up some last minute snacks for a deer hunting trip. Their "Loss Prevention" decided to approach me and inform me I was with some people who just stole Items and I was guilty. First off, I entered on the garden section of the store, secondly, this guy had NO idea what he was talking about. After being harassed I returned as many items as I could for a cash refund. Unfortunately, my Deer tag and ammo are not returnable, but I WILL never and HAVE NOT returned. I made a formal complaint, called Walmart and they don't care. This guy was WAY out of line and they don't care how he treats their customers. Putting this Walmart in our small town has brought trash and skum for employees. It's a Shame! read more

I got to Walmart right at 7:00AM, on a Saturday, to get a fishing license. I needed a cashier at the sporting goods section and there were more than enough staff to help me out. That's a plus. However, that wasn't the issue. The problem was that not one of the two staff including the assistant manager knew the login for the sporting goods register. I understand that staff have their own unit but who was supposed to work in the sporting good section today? It's Memorial Day weekend. There was no one working there. They did try their best for 30 minutes. Anyway, it was awkward when the assistant manager got frustrated and began calling/texting his co-workers who had the day off. I appreciate the effort but come on. Thirty minutes of waiting is way too long. I had people waiting on me. So, I drove back to the Elk Grove Walmart. They knew what they were doing. I got in and out within 10 minutes! Not going to let this ruin my fishing day. I got the license so I'm a happy camper. Good: Customer service was good. Clean and neat store. Bad: Inability to operate the cashier system in sporting goods. I probably caught them at a bad day. Let's hope that is the case. read more

This Walmart has the nicest cashiers and employees of any Walmart that I have been too. They have been extremely helpful which is unheard of for Walmart. The store is just a basic store and nothing special. They have a subway in the Walmart but I haven't eaten there. I really don't have any more to say. read more

As far-fetched as rating a Walmart as being 5 stars, I have to rate this location a full 5 stars because I am constantly impressed with their cleanliness, larger-than-the-average-Walmart selection, and general lack of salty employees (probably due to the general lack of jackass clientele) makes this the only Walmart I don't dislike stepping into. No ridiculous lines, from what I've seen the 3 years I've been going here. While they do get busy, they don't get stupid busy & backed up for 10 minutes in line like other locations tend to. As far as cheap, cheap grocery stores go, this particular location is the high-class version with employees that don't by-and-large hate their job. If you're passing by, this one's just off the freeway, so stop by & skip the one close to home at least once. read more
